This is like the best scenery in the IE. If I was gonna take my boyfriend on a really romantic surprise date I’d totally take him here. But too bad we’ve already been a million bazillion times. The food is pretty standard as are the drinks but the experience is once in a life time. :or a bazillion:

Wow, I was underwhelmed with the service and food at this airport caffe. When my mother and I arrived to eat breakfast we were not welcomed and stood in line to place our order. The lady taking our order seemed bothered that we had questions about the menu(this was our first time there, and the last). They want $ 3 for a soda and they do not give refills. We could see the short order chef from where we sat. He looked in a rush and when I went to pick up our food it was lukewarm and the chef had stains on his uniform. I said hello as I picked up the dishes and was dismissed without even a nod. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was very bland. My mother had an omelet and it was all runny in the middle. I was not impressed. The restaurant decorations were pretty cool. That was probably the best part of this place. Epic fail.

This place is great! So much fun to watch the skydivers landing! My beef dip was very good and my salad was fresh.

I would not recommend the fish tacos. The shell was dry, and the fish is fried and lettuce tomato and ranch. The service at the bar was good, but I would not recommend the food. The atmosphere is a laid back one with various skydivers popping in from their training or their day of jumping. Overall, I give it a lower rating for the food options, but it’s a laid back fun atmosphere.

Chicken Caesar wrap is great and prices are good too. I always bring my visiting friends and family to this diner because it’s special to our town. There’s swimming pool and best of all your friends and family get see the sky divers coming down and landing. Highly recommend this place or at least come visit the sky dive park and check out all the celebrities and movie films that have been shot here such as THEBUCKETLIST with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.

Ate here while waiting for a skydive, this restaurant is average quality. No table service, you order at the counter and pick up at the counter. The cashier wasn’t too friendly, maybe she was having a bad day. Anyway ordered breakfast for two, and it was pretty inexpensive. The food was surprisingly good, i really enjoyed my breakfast. They also serve lunch, depending on the time of day. They have a pool table here also.

This place has a certain charm to it. I genuinely enjoyed checking out the 1,000s of pictures on the wall while we waited for service to show up. Does anyone out in cali know what a boat club is like? This is it. Some facts: –bartender may not have ever looked me in the eye –nice selection of bottled beer(with standard taps plus an interesting Goose IPA), so I could have one(yeah right, I had 3) Delicious IPA from Stone, bottled –chips and salsa was only $ 2 and super gooooood. The salsa is like when your neighbor who grows their own chilis gives you house concotion. yummy — the wings were mild. med, or hot and of course I choose hot– WOO Hoo, good… tey were something like 6 wings for $ 8 but good — they call a number for you to come get your food, you won’t know you number, you’ll wait till you get hungry and curious to go scope out the expo window situation, and you’ll like it –earlier in the afternoon(4pm) the scene was scarce, but after 6 a lady with an enlightened soul came and lit the juke box up –after the sun went down, the patio was delightful Overall, I’m definitely going back because its relaxed, I don’t feel like I’m going to run into people from work(like at Bob’s), the atmosphere of «people who liked Perris before the new housing developments» is strong and I appreciate that kind of authenticity, and I’m a sucker for chips/salsa.

We read all the bad reviews for the Bomb Shelter but we were meeting a couple from the other direction and this was in the middle. It promised lunch with entertainment, watching all the skydivers, so we gave it a try. We were so surprised at how delicious everything was. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, the skydivers were plenty and our food was very, very good! The dirty bloody mary’s are very yummy! Order the onion rings not the fries, they were great!

ABSOLUTELYHORRIBLE! That goes for the service, food, and prices. I thought it was very unfortunate for the folks who go to the skydiving center there at the Perris Airport and then wander in there hungry and thirsty. We had arrived early for a skydiving event and made the mistake of going into The Bomb Shelter for a bite to eat. As others have written, the staff was rude, particularly the cashier. The drink re-fills at the fountain are 75 cents and you have to go to the back of the order line and wait to pay your 75 cents and then go re-fill! This info was rudely conveyed to me as well. Meanwhile my lukewarm fish burger went stone cold because my tiny drink went dry. My fish burger consisted of a Gorton frozen fish filet and my girlfriends Ruben was even less impressive. Here’s the real dealbreaker…2 fountain soft drinks and I only re-filled one, and 2 very bad sandwiches with tax.$ 30.00!!! YES, THIRTYDOLLARS!!! Oh yeah, I don’t want to forget our dirty table and the trash on the floor. ABSOLUTELYHORRIBLE!

Horrible customer service. The black lady in the register doesn’t even greet you. I ordered two sodas for my sister and daughter who were going to meet me for lunch and I told her I didn’t want them yet. When she gave me my total, I asked her if she charged me my drinks, she rudely replied no because I hadn’t told her what kind! Obviously I didn’t know what kind because I wanted my sister and daughter to chose. When we received our food you could tell the lettuce in our sandwiches was old. When my sisters food arrived, she ordered a side salad. The salad was yellow with the ends turning brown! Disgusting! Don’t waste your time here!

I guess thrill seeker sky divers here must quench their desire for thrills in the air because The Bomb Shelter is less than thrilling. Maybe the place does OK because it has a built-in audience of hungry, thirsty people. And I mean tons of them. I havent seen that many neon, nylon-clad beautiful-people since skiing at Mammoth in the ‘80s. After reading positive reviews on Adventure Pilot’s website, my BF and I decided to have breakfast /lunch at The Bomb Shelter, one Sunday morning after spending the night in Temecula. It was about a 10 minute fly from French Valley lol but still we had plenty of time to get in trouble. All the FAA published information shows Perris Valley’s CTAF frequency to be the same as that of the Jump Area at Elsinore. As you’re getting ready to approach the airport and announce on that frequency, you’ll be told by the guys at Elsinore to use a different frequency. Alrighty then. Once on the correct frequency, we announced and were told to stay well clear of the East side of the field. We were also told to do a left 360 to stay out of their way and then make a straight-in for the north-facing runway. Even though Perris is not controlled airspace, we did just what they asked us to do. Once on the runway, somebody on the ground told us where to park. As we taxied off to that area, we could see lots of activity by hundreds of people off to the left, under shade tents. As we were leaving our airplane to swim through all the people and find the restaurant, we finally saw Them. OMG, easily 100 skydivers were dropping out of the sky, landing all around us like an attack of locusts on a corn field. My heart sank as I realized how horribly it could have turned out if we’d not cooperated with the«clear of East of the field» command. I shook it off and proceeded to the restaurant. It’s not really a restaurant. It’s more like a snack bar. You order stuff with the cashier. You sit on a plastic chair in a chalet-looking air conditioned room with sky diving photos all over the walls. They call your number, you pick it up. You eat it. Don’t order a carbonated drink if you drink like a fish, like me. Each refill is $.75. If you get iced tea, the refills are free. It’s not a fate worse than death to need to pay for refills, especially since drinks are cheap in the first place. But I think it’s a hassle to have to hand coinage to the cashier for each refill so I’m glad I had tea. I ordered a tuna sandwich. Meh. It was on something like Orowheat whole wheat bread. That’s it. No crisp stuff like onions or lettuce on the side. Just the salad smeared on the bread. Voila. There’s a bar and the bartendter seemed friendly. We didn’t order any adult beverages and we didn’t see a lot of adult beverages being ordered by the… athletes. Maybe the place hops when everybody’s done hopping out of airplanes. Hard to tell. The entertainment is somewhat amusing, if not bizarre. One should think the culture would be… aviation. But it isn’t, really. It’s a bunch of tan skinny blond girls and guys mostly, shuffling around in nylon jump suits. Some have cameras on their heads. Others peel down their cover-alls to show off their bods. Many have foreign accents. Plenty have iPads and are Skyping with distant friends. Yeah, so if you’re horny maybe this is a good place to go find somebody who is looking for some thrills. But if you’re looking for a good meal, stay to the WEST of the field for God’s sake and land someplace else that has better food.(Check my list for recounts of my experience with airport food.)

I was so excited to finally go here. We called a few friends and said, let’s do bloody marys and lunch. My boyfriend, our friend and me walked in first before the others got here… we got inside, no one said hello or even cared they had customers. There was 3 tables occupied and a Few employees. We sat at the bar, and a young kid was behind the bar prepping cookies… he ignored us. we all 3 finally stared at him long enough and he said«oh…so you guys haven’t Been helped» we all said no and he said well let me see if I can find her. He came back and told us that she said was too busy and if we wanted drinks or food we had to go to here to order and wait over there and then we would bring our drinks and food orders back to the bar… WTF!!! Really? We walked over there because our friends were on their way, we stared at the menu… the rude«employee»(not even sure if she deserves that title) stared at us I said«screw this popstand, let’s go». As we walked out, she looked at us and said«no?» Well of course I told her«yeah, no, you obviously don’t want business anyway» Bottom line… terrible. the place looks awesome, the menu was huge and I was excited to try it and relax watching skydivers. we called our friends and diverted them to another restaurant where the employees actually do their job and provide customer service. ANY customer service, Good, bad, slow … is better than NO customer service.

Surprisingly great. HUGE menu selection. I mean HUGE. You wouldn’t think a little bar at an airport would have such a crazy selection of food… and it’s all good! Drinks were very cheap! The staff was awesome… even turned on the game I wanted to watch. Played pool and listened to music on the juke box most of the day.

The nicest rural airport bar I’ve ever been in – and I’ve been in quite a few. Surprisingly decent food and decent prices that’s made pretty quickly. Makes me want to come back just for lunch and lounge by the pool outside all day.
