I first of want to say I am very disappointed that I need to write this review. I brought my dog here a while back and I have said nothing but good things about this place ever since. I am currently in town from FL and my Mother is in the hospital. She had an appointment to bring her dog in so I was trying to help her out by bringing him in. I wasn’t sure when the appointment was so I called the day before to confirm. I could not get ahold of anyone there after making several attempts so by about a quarter to 5 I left a message. No one returned my call until about 10 the next morning and by that time I had to back track from S. Lansing to Laingsburg to pick up my Mothers dog and then drive him to Pink Shear by 4:30. If anyone has a parent in the hospital they know that getting their parents affairs in order is no easy task. I was running 10 mins. late so I had my boyfriend call to let them know. From the moment I arrived the woman behind the counter was very standoffish and cold. I apologized for being late and explained that this was my Mothers dog and that she was in the hospital. Her response, «Well, what do you want done?» She said it in a way that sounded like they were already closed for business. I wasn’t completely sure exactly what my mother made the appointment for but confirmed with the person who called me earlier that it was $ 27. How could they not know when I just spoke to someone that afternoon about it? She then looked back at the groomer and back at me and said ‘we really don’t have time for a haircut.’ The whole tone of the conversation and feeling in the room at this time was completely uncomfortable and to be honest bitchy… it was clear that they thought their job and business is a 9 – 5 and wanted to go home. The groomer started to say that they would do it this«one time» but… then I just said forget it and walked out. My Mother has been a loyal customer and I just can’t believe we were treated this way esp. since I made it clear that she is in the hospital! I’m not sure if these two women were the owners or not but they need a real reality check if they think owning a business is a 9 – 5 gig! I’m sorry it pissed on their day that I was 10 mins. late but at least I called. Why didn’t they pick up the phone the day before? I have heard others say terrible things about this place esp. regarding cleanliness and the quality of grooming and I will agree it was not always the best but for the price not bad at all. Now I understand that you really get what you pay for! Customer service has to be #1. This place is a FAIL!
