While driving home, I was stuck in a rainstorm that was threatening … Looking for a place to stay the night that was reasonably priced, I stopped a few places before moving another exit up 35 where I was greeted with the rodeway inn… Very nifty looking 60’s building situated next to the highway. Was told the nightly rate was 59 $ plus tax, great, I’ll take a room . The bulletproof glass should have been my first indication something was amiss. I received my room key and was told I could locate my room in the rear of the complex. At this point it was 11 pm and a absolute downpour of rain. But still wasn’t enough to keep the drug dealers from standing out side peddling their wares … Upon entry to the room I was delighted to see it was clean, if outdated. 2 beds a table and a single chair, lamp, and a dresser. standard fare, plus a tv that was made when Nixon was in office … Picture was crap and the reception of satellite was spotty at best. Bathroom wasn’t much better, with a 80’s faux marble tub and a torn curtain. Coffee maker was grimy and gross(thankfully that’s exactly how I feel about coffee) but wasn’t much of an issue. Bed was decent, I slept well. Sat may alarm for 6:30 to hit the«breakfast»… Honey buns, water, a warm gallon of milk on the counter for the 2 cereals and all of the making of waffles, minus butter … Blah … Overall, can’t complain about a 60 $ room, but it was just a below average experience …

This place is nothing fancy, but if you are in the Perry area and need a clean place to sleep, Rodeway Inn is not a bad choice. We arrived very late and had to deal with the night window. That is not a big deal. If the Rodeway Inn folks read this, I suggest an intercom or speaker system to aid the folks with hearing issues. We arrived at our room and it was fairly clean, neat and nicely painted. Beds were comfy. Housekeeping needs to address high dust and clean the mirrors. Management, it is time to upgrade the bedspreads and the carpet needs to be replaced. Also don’t claim you have breakfast. Only 1 honey bun, stale cereal and a hotel waffle machine were the food items. Coffee, water and milk to drink, unless you count the little creamers! That isn’t really breakfast. Would I stay here again… YES!!!
