Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner, folks! I found this gem on a Unilocal search for handmade chocolates as a gift for family members. Though it was a bit of a drive(10 miles as the crow flies from Geneseo), I convinced my fiancée to make the trip, I was sure it would be worth it. And it was! Ambiance: sweet shop quintessential. Small tables with chairs for seating. Gift shop with sundries in the back. Serves gourmet Perry ice cream, has lunch options available and obviously, has homemade/handmade chocolates and baked goods. Service: the two ladies who assisted us were both very friendly and helpful. I personally selected four ¼lb boxes of assorted chocolates(all different) and was told it was«no problem at all.» I truly felt welcome to take my time and pick out the perfect candies as a gift. We came back to the counter to order lunch, and then again to pick up some extra candy bark and a cupcake. During all three encounters, the ladies were polite and helpful. Merchandise: their specialty lies in their handmade/homemade chocolates and candies. This ranges from your assorted creams, caramels, peanut butter cups, gourmet chocolate bark(sponge, cherry/almond, Oreo, pretzel, etc). They also have baked goods like brownies, cookie bars, and cupcakes. Plus the ice cream. They also makes smoothies, malts, milkshakes and the like. But surprisingly, I was really blown away by their lunch. For $ 5 – 6, we ordered a ham and cheese Panini with honey mustard and a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is LITERALLY one of the best I’ve ever had. I’m drooling now thinking about it. My fiancée really liked his cupcake and said it «reminded him of Christmas.» Price: $ 12.99 for 1 lb of candy, $ 6.99 for ½ lb. Chocolate/candy prices are well worth it. I personally tasted the strawberry and raspberry creams, and a sea salt caramel. $ 6 for a lunch combo is an absolute STEAL. I hope Sweet Sarah’s sticks around for a long time. I’d like to go back if I’m anywhere near the Finger Lakes region, which is really saying something.
