A warm welcome and a wealth of knowledge is always what I find at this little gem of a shop. I was thrilled to stumble across Yarn Cravin’ one day as I was driving to the grocery store. I just had to stop in and check out the merchandise. I was not disappointed. Everything offered here is extremely beautiful or amazingly practical, usually both! When I first walked in the door I was a little intimidated. I was a relatively new knitter with only a few scarves and hats under my belt. With inspiration from the amazing inventory, and personal help and advice from the co-owners I was knitting socks, gloves, and even a sweater within a year. The atmosphere is inviting, and the open invitation to sit and knit right in the shop makes this place seem straight out of a Rockwell painting. If you love needle arts, or think you might like to take up the hobby, or if you just want to touch some beautiful fibers in incredible colors and varieties this is the place to go.

The shop is located in a little one-story house; the sign is low-profile, so it took me a couple of tries to find them. In nice weather they even have bargain yarn on the front porch!(I got a whole sweater’s worth of milk-fiber yarn for almost half off. Score!) A small dog greeted me when I walked in and judged me worthy when I immediately knelt down to give her the attention she obviously warranted as guardian of the shop. The humans were friendly also, and there’s yarn EVERYWHERE. They also offer needles and notions, a button wall similar to that at Mass Ave Knit Shop, and of course books and patterns. There’s even a computer so you can get on Ravelry! I enjoyed my visit and will stop by again when I’m in the area.

Dale Ann and Bobbie have created a welcoming, wonderfully homey atmosphere at their yarn shop. Yarn Cravin’ offers the largest selection of yarn I have found in the Toledo area. It also offers a large selection of books and patterns. There is open-knit all day every Tuesday, where people of all ages come to share their projects, give and get advice, and most of all to enjoy each other’s company. Dale Ann and Bobbie also offer a variety of classes and workshops. Stop by and you’ll be hooked!

Dale Ann and Bobbie(the owners) are two ladies who LOVE to knit, and it shows. They are BEYOND helpful and courteous to everyone who walks in the shop. It is in a little house in downtown Perrysburg, and it is FILLED to the rafters with delicious yarn… what more could you want? There are even two Shih Tzu’s «standing guard» most of the time. They have«Insaknitty» on Tuesday evenings… come with your latest project and join the crowd!

The first time I walked into this charming little house, there were a group of knitters sitting inside the door. And they all had some advice to give… perfect. I love this store. It’s everything I want from a LYS– They generally have the yarns I’m looking for at a decent price plus a friendly staff that’s willing to help. I only wish I lived closer– during the summer they have knit nights on the front porch.
