Excellent, accomodating staff. The rooms are standard, but the grounds are gorgeous. There are numerous places to take in a beautiful view, learn about tree and wildlife or hike on fantastic trails. Mohican State Park is a wonderful place to bring your family for a relaxing weekend, and the lodge is a fine place to stay. The lodge also has cool events to keep you busy throughout your stay!

My husband and I stayed here for one night since we were attending a wedding at the Grand Barn. I loved being surrounded by nature but the hotel was hard to find. Our room was very well kept, staff was friendly and rates were reasonable. However, there weren’t a lot of outlets and the rooms could use some updating. The shuttle service to and from the Grand Barn was a plus as I can only imagine what driving back to the hotel in the dark would’ve been like. As others have stated there isn’t a lot around and we missed the time for breakfast so we drove about 25 minutes to Bob Evans by 71, which was okay since we had already checked out. I don’t see us returning here only because we are not outdoorsy people, but for short time we were there it was a nice stay.

Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, food is excellent, conference setting superb. I give it five stars for what it is, not what you expect a fancy hotel to be. Surrounded by wildlife information, paintings, and beauty this is a lodge and conference center in a state park and you will find none better. If you stop and look at the many exhibits you actually learn quite a bit about the flora and fauna of Ohio. I’ll be bringing the gang here in the summer!

This is a nice place to stay and not overly pricey. The rooms are very spacious and clean. I can’t say anything about dinner at the restaurant since it is way to expensive. I can’t imagine any piece of meat loaf or plate of chicken and dumplings being with $ 15. The breakfast service was more reasonably priced but still not worth what you get. Unfortunately, there is nowhere else close by. It’s a shame that with such a scenic dining area they serve such a low quality meal and probably know they can do so because they have a captive audience.

The lodge is beautifully situated in the rolling glacial hills of Ohio. Overlooking the man-made Pleasant Hill Lake and situated along the amazing bluffs of the Clear Fork Gorge. The lodge was built in the ‘70s and could use an update in a few places — loose outlets and the like — on the whole it looks dated but is still comfortable and attractive. The indoor pool was closed for repairs all four days we were there.

I recently visited a friend’s family near this area and we all had lunch at this resort. I went in with low expectations but was blown away when I realized that this place had some tasty vegan options. I had the quinoa stir fry and it was pretty awesome. Beyond that, the views are beautiful and the staff was really nice. I went on a chilly day but I hear this place, with all it’s lake views, is gorgeous in the spring and autumn.

Ohio does a few things very, very well. Their far-ranging lodge system is one. First visit to Mohican Lodge(which they call a resort and conference center, for reasons unknown) this week for a short, mid-week vacation. They spot you ten bucks for each report card«A» each night of your stay, up to fifty bucks per. The Child earned fifty each night, which was sweet; it went right back into the meals at the restaurant, for which see my other review. You have to like kids to go here. You have to be willing to tolerate parents who are willing to ignore their own kids. Kids are everywhere. At all hours. Screeching, screaming, sweating, slobbering kids. If they ain’t mine, I’m not interested.(A handful were polite, well-mannered and quiet. The rest, not so much.) Great building, with 96 guest rooms, most a bit worn but still terrific for under a hundy a night. Fabulous lake views, walking trails, indoor heated pool, outdoor pool, tennis, basketball, deep forest trails… If you are a lover of nature, this is your best bet. Hey, do you also love kids? Noisy, unruly, unchaperoned kids? The staff are without fail polite, helpful and professional. They all seemed to be wide-eyed and innocent; perhaps I’m just reflecting the opposite, being world-weary and callous. The resort overall, while not world-class, remains a strongly regional-class lodge at bare-bones rates. I’ll happily re-visit Mohican.
