I’ll start with the ambiance, I give it 4 stars beautiful décor, good vibe. Service is subpar, I went on a weekday and although there was a lot of staff there and not busy no one approached us for a good 10 minutes as we waited on high top in the bar area. An older woman I’m guessing new owner asked if we needed menus I said yes please and she proceeded to talk with staff and play with her phone. Menu, I’ll keep to the bar menu since it is what I sampled. First off there isn’t one, at least not yet. We received the full menu and found that all the great appetizers we loved to have were all gone. No masitas, no calamari, no croquetas! Great items GONE! Begrudgingly we ordered the stuffed tostones and chicharron de pollo. Tasty but very very tiny portions for wait for it…$ 12 and $ 11 respectively??? Hello I can feed my family down the street with great Spanish food for that much! Seems like the new ownership is trying to cater to a different demographic that finds this cuisine exotic or different and that’s fine for the wknd out of towners, but for the everyday traffic locals and out of towners, like myself who come to Perth Amboy for business this totally misses the mark. Way too expensive, we are not in NYC, and way too many choices for great Latin food in the area. I tried the new ownership and Asa person who frequented there at least 2 – 3 times a month with friends and coworkers I will say I will go elsewhere. Hope ownership realizes they are alienating their bread and butter. If they do I’ll be back otherwise see you at The Armory!

Highly Disappointed! Décor is nice but food and service is below standard. This is not your New York«Victor’s Café.» Pricing does not match quality of meal. Small portions, unsavory, not tasteful, bland and questionable whether this is authentic Cuban food. With more staff training on servicing and more tasteful food(rice under cooked, meat bland, sauce old) this could be an excellent restaurant. where customers will return. It shouldn’t be set up as a one-time visit.

Amazing! This place is a hidden treasure! Beautiful décor, good food, fun drinks, better wait staff… Cuban Petes has some serious authentic competition on their hands.

So… Ive been coming here for a long time… Before today my last time here was 2/26/16…and that day thr food was excellent which is what I’ve come to expect when I come to Terrazza. Today, myself and two friends came for lunch. We were surprised to find that the whole restaurant had been remodeled and we’re given different menus and we’re also surprised to find that things had gotten more pricey and gone were the lunch specials we would come for. Our waiter, Robert was excellent and very attentive, quickly told us that the restaurant had new owners and this was a new menu. We went there mainly because we loved the Guava butter. We found that this new generation of Guava butter was not as delicious as the one we were used to. I ordered a grilled chicken Sandwich and my friends had Arroz con pollo and a Cuban Sandwich. We were all very disappointed with our food. My Chicken tasted so bland that I felt I was just eating lettuce, tomato and bread… And when I looked the piece of chicken in the sandwich left me with about 2 inches on each end of just bread, lettuce and bread. The Arroz con pollo was also very bland… And thr Cuban sandwich was more like a ham and cheese sandwich because there was almost no pork in it. I ordered a tres leches for dessert and was brought a 3 in thick piece of cake… Meaning that only the bottom half of the case was moist from the milk and the top half was dry. Now to add insult to injury, someone who I’m not sure if he was the owner or the manager or what, came over and asked us if we liked the food. When I told him it was just ok, he asked me what I’d eaten and when I told him his response was that I should have told our waiter so that they can know what needs improvement. He then walked away lol. Never asked himself what we didn’t like… Never said since we’re new and u didn’t enjoy your food let me take something off the bill… NOTHING. So I paid for my $ 24 lunch that I hated and can say that neither I nor my friends will be coming back…

The wait staff was excellent ! The GM of the restaurant kept checking on us which was lovely. My husband ordered the grilled butterfly breast chicken which was phenomenal and I ordered the jumbo shrimp which I thought was a entrée but it was an appetizer due to a new menu mix up. Our waiter sent over a delicious vegetable soup along with my shrimp. The guava butter with bread is divine ! There was also live Cuban music with instruments which livened the already hip atmosphere. Definitely a great place for a date night, drinks after work or just in the mood for some good food. Prices are reasonable. We are waiting for out tres leches chocolate dessert. Robert was our waiter he was so pleasant !

Been here a bunch for lunch. Usually just get something from the to go counter. Lunch specials are cheap and the portions are generous. Food is good, but nothing special. Today I ordered a burger to go and the bun was super stale. Inedible. I cant believe the cook picked up that bun and thought it was appropriate to serve. You can hear the cracking of the bun in my video. My burger also had avocado on it which(after looking at the menu upon return) is a $ 2 add on, but I never asked for it. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Went in for the Halloween party. Very few people. Ordered some food that the server recommended which was a smörgåsbord basically, excellent decision. The DJ that night was really inattentive to what the crowd wanted. The place is nice and the staff is great, just expected more out of a place everyone talks about.

I ordered the salmon with asparagus and mashed potatoes and it tasted very good. The salmon was cook very well the asparagus was nicely seasoned and the potatoes were on point! Also I had some Plaintain’s and that was really delicious. The sangria was tasty but there wasn’t much liquor in it and the blue drink was very strong and made up for it :-). Overall the atmosphere was nice the waiters and waitresses were nice and I really enjoyed myself I would recommend you eat here.

Went here for the first time the food was great. Good selection of wine. Music was interesting felt like a night club without the crowd which was a plus. Definitely a place to bring some on a first date.

02⁄15 — I went here for a ladies’ night out with six other girlfriends on a Saturday around 7pm. We split the red wine sangria, and it was one of the best sangrias I’ve tasted. For food we all split the appetizer sampler(pretty good, but too many fried foods) at the suggestion of our waiter), and some of us ordered some extra appetizers. I ordered the apple salad and it was perfectly delicious. We hadn’t planned on it, but most of us were full after that, so we didn’t order more food after the initial round. However the waiter was particularly vocal about his disappointment in our small bill, and he gave us pointe-blank grief a few times. He ruined the night for some of our group. Then, we did a bit of dancing(DJ — mix of pop, Latin, house, and disco,) and the vibe was a bit adult, but not as seedy as a club.

Really giving this place 3.5. Our meal started off great and by great, I mean, deliciously! We were served warm bread with guava infused butter. Yum! We also ordered the clams with sausage appetizer. Also, delicious! Once our entrees came(definitely a bit of a wait), the dishes looked beautiful. I got the crab stuffed lobster and my fiancé got the pork chop. Both were specials of the day but there was nothing particularly special about either dish. My lobster was overcooked and while the coconut rice was tasty, my carrots were bland and undercooked. The pork chop was huge and bland too, though, it had a great sauce. Needless to say, this was all disappointing. The meal started off so great and it had built all of this momentum but as soon as we tasted our entrees, everything pretty much crashed and burned. On the bright side, the mojito wasn’t bad! So, I’d give the food a 3. General service was friendly and attentive. We were very happy with our server. She worked hard, was personable and professional as well as accommodating. The good service brings the experience to a 3.5. Place is nice and clean, and I enjoyed the art work on the wall. To sum it all up, if I am in the area again, I would go back but I am in no rush to do so.

Seeing alot of new people working here. Service was a little better. What’s up with the Reggae and lounge music. I was falling asleep waiting for my meal. As usual the meal was the best part. I had the daily special, T-bone steak. It was 16oz for $ 20. Can’t beat that.
