Such a cool vintage atmosphere! They have very good coffee. The Africano is really delicious! Music is awesome. They have some neat older items in the store which adds a great atmosphere.

It might be easy to miss the small but nutritionally packed shop. I must say its not to be missed. Wonderful products displayed with great love and insightful comments from the shop keeper. I left with a jar of ghee which I used to cook farm fresh eggs found in the small fridge. You might leave here with new perspective about your life and how you care about yourself(or not).

OK, as I get older my eye sight is failing me and I may be dyslexic. Dear gentle Unilocalers, what I am about to say may either shock you or make you spit out your coffee with laughter or both. We drove by Chikken Revolution last weekend and I read it as «Rotisserie Chicken». I was truly convinced it was a restaurant. I even assured my friends and family that this was a restaurant that served rotisserie chicken! With the promise of eating rotisserie chicken I even drove my family from Scotts Valley to Pescadero. But alas, I was(gasp) wrong! My dear fellow Unilocalers — this is NOT a restaurant — it is a cute little store that is adjacent to the hip Downtown Local café! A quaint business with a lovely lady behind the counter to assist you and answer all your questions! What a great little boutique! I bought the lavender hydrosols spray($ 10.00) I need to get my eyes checked.

Combination of local healthy food products as well as skin and health care, books to guide you nutritionally, as well as workshops and gatherings to educate you, etc. if you go inwards the back of the store you can actually see where the movie theater is that you enter via the coffee shop next door. Actually these two businesses seem to be intertwined with each other.

Pescadero is sure full of little surprises, and this is one of the littlest, at least size-wise since it’s really no bigger than a walk-in closet(photo: ). If I’m remembering MTV’s «Cribs» correctly, Mariah Carey has a bigger closet just for her lingerie underwear and only for the ones marked Sunday. This shoplet is actually the side business for married owners John Betteo and Nicole Sillapere who decided to sell their East Bay food truck, Jon’s Street Eats, to open a very unique café within the slower cadence of Pescadero. Chikken Revolution appears to be Sillapere’s baby, a place where she can offer her favorite locally produced foods. Everything she sells here looks very appetizing and high in nutritional value from crushed heirloom tomatoes(photo: ) to chunk honey replete with the honeycombs(photo: ) to raw coconut flesh(photo: ) to farm fresh eggs(photo: ). They even sell equipment to help you prepare the food at home. Obviously a labor of love the same as Downtown Local next door, it’s quite an idiosyncratic find in a town that has only 643 residents according to the 2010 census, but I could see how curious daytrippers couldn’t help buy a jar of raw honey they had no intention of getting when they left the city. Ah yes, that would be me.
