No one makes petite fours anymore, do they? To be honest I wasn’t even sure what they were, when I was looking for something different for a chocolate holiday(Easter? Valentine’s Day?) after Joseph Schmidt was bought out and closed by Hershey, I thought I’d go for the attractively decorated offerings of Divine Delights. I was assured by my husband that petite fours could be delicious. Well, the petite fours made by Divine Delights ARE extremely tasty, melt-in-your-mouth treats. The petite fours are hand made by a small company. Not that this necessarily makes them taste better, but the bakers obviously care and are connected to the company. The cake designs are cute and well executed. The cakes and frosting and filling are simply excellent. The business updates their site frequently, and often they are out of a type of petite four or truffle. Right now, for example, they don’t have packages of their chocolate petite fours available for shipping. That’s because they went through the available boxes for Valentine’s Day, and besides, they are concentrating on the spring-colored petite fours for Easter. I know this because of the very personal customer service available by phone. Normally I order online and don’t have a problem. But, today it seemed everything except for St. Patrick’s Day themed cakes were not available. So, I called and was told about the focus on next week’s holiday. They expect to allow online orders for the big Easter basket and big Easter boxes of petite fours early next week. Until then, you can call to place your order for delivery in two weeks. Yeah, small company with personal service. Top quality treats. It really is as good as it gets!

Wow! It has been 10 years since my coworker introduced me to a petite four from Divine Delights. I happened to be traveling through the city and thought I would take detour from my travels to check it out. It was easy to spot off the Highway. It is a big building which I understand must be the factory and office. There is only one center entrance for the retail shop. It is very tiny with the main counter as you walk in and two tables of displays of what items they have at the moment. At the bottom right corner of the main counter is a small section of day old or rejected petite fours because they were not made perfectly for retail. But to me they looked fine to me, so they were a little off with not being coated or decorated evenly. I still would give them my love and respect! With a kiss and into my tummy they go, but not before I take a picture of them first. Ah, fond memories… If I ever happen to be traveling this way again, I will be sure to stop by for a special treat. They make cookies too! These are very rich since it is made out of butter, almond paste, flour and white chocolate. Yum! I treat these petite fours like caviar. Take small bites and enjoy the texture and flavor. :-)

Ordered the Easter petite fours for a gift to be sent to San Diego. They arrived damaged pretty much looking horrible. All the designs were non existent. One messy box.

I was eager to learn that this place existed so close to home. I went in for a visit to pick up a generous donation for a Humane Society event and was pleasantly greeted by Isabel at the front desk and then once I started to say what I was there, another woman, Grace, immediately popped out to go from there. I was fortunate enough to have a little sample of one of these marvelous little pieces of magic and can see why they’re so well loved. The little store front was decorated super cute and seeing one of the«behind the scenes» rooms I could tell that they were organized and clean! I always love seeing organization, haha! I definitely recommend this place!

Avoid these little cakes for a special occasion. We ordered for a Christmas party and they never arrived. Divine Delights did not make any attempt to(a. send us a replacement shipment(b. refund our credit card(c. deal with UPS who claimed to have delivered when they had not. In the first frantic days we called and emailed the company repeatedly. They took no action. After the holidays, we waited months and months(since December) for some resolution or explanation but never heard a word from them. We followed the UPS tracking that initially showed the box as delivered to us, then several weeks later showed it as being returned to sender. We have no idea if anything was indeed returned as Divine Delights has not contacted us regarding the fate of our lost delivery. We do continue to get catalogs from them and when I asked to be removed from the mailing list I got a one word response–«Done». We have ordered repeatedly in the past as have other members of our family. The cakes are delicious but the customer service is non-existent.

One of my favorite indulgences in Sonoma County. These are classic petit fours baked traditionally with almond paste which leads to a moist cake and subtly complex flavor. The name is fitting, as the first time I tasted these I’m pretty sure I tasted heaven! I’ve never ordered them via mail because I live close enough to visit the outlet, so I can’t speak to the mail order system. I also have to make arrangements to get there since they close shop at 4pm weekdays and have no weekend hours. But that’s probably good because otherwise I think they’d be too busy and I’d be eating these all day every day. Excellent product.

I have purchased from Diving Delights Retail Outlet in town as well as ordered through their website and had them delivered as gifts. I have never been disappointed with their cakes or cookies and the reaction from the recipients is always delight!

Most food that is pretty doesn’t taste good. Most food that tastes good isn’t all that pretty. Divine Delights makes BEAUTIFUL petit fours that are delicious. They make very special gifts when dear ones have birthdays or other special events.

i ordered 36 petit fours for a wedding shower in san diego. the package came within 4 – 5 days. it was a huge box full of popcorn and two cold packs. unfortunately, about 6⁄36 of the beautiful designs on the petit fours were ruined in transit. some cracked, some flowers broken… that was disappointing especially after paying over $ 50 dollars for the thing. otherwise, the taste was good. they are on the sweet side for sure, but when you need petit fours in a pinch, this is a good option. perhaps order more than you need if you are doing an event so you can do quality control on your own.

Why 5 stars? First off there are not many places that make petite fours. Secondly, they make some cute critter ones. Thirdly, their flavors are fabulous and I love the almond undertones in most of the flavors. They have always been very fresh. Lastly, this retail outlet has«ugly» ones for half price. They end up in my tummy so fast it does not matter what they look like. You sometimes have to ask for them, and if they have them they will get them for you. I also think the more often you go in the more likely they remember you and are willing to go hunt for them. It is also great after a holiday has passed and they sell the holiday ones the half off. The sad thing? The wonderful delights have carbs in them. So when I passed them by on the freeway all I could do was whine to myself and keep telling myself I can have ONE once I get more of this weight off. Until then, I get their emails and drool over their websites! (I cannot vouch for mail order as I always stop to get them.)

Expensive but fast shipping. I received a box of the critters for my birthday. I felt like a fatty indulging in a box all by myself. These petit fours taste great during room temperature. A tad sweet but hey, it’s dessert! I got the halloween edition for my sister with the four piece boxes and they definitely did not taste as good as the critters. The cakes seemed lackluster and a lil dry. My sister wasn’t too impressed which led me to be disappointed.

CAUTION– After buying a box of Divine Delight’s yummy petit fours, you will eat the entire box in approximately 1.457 seconds because they equal absolute bliss! Along with sweet sugar cookies and other treats, Delights are perfect for any holiday or birthday(just make sure to grab a couple of your favorite flavors before they disappear!) Even though I have to drive to stinky(but cute) Petaluma, these treats are the BESTSWEETSEVER!!! P. S.- When eating these, definitely do not think about the calories you are consuming– this will send you into a sugar-hyped, chocolate-smeared-on– face rage(just enjoy the sweets now– weigh yourself later).

I’ve had plenty of petits fours, but divine delights are simply delicious. They are kind of expensive, but worth the money in my opinion.

I didn’t realize DD had a retail outlet… should I find myself on the other side of the country, I AMTHERE!!! My Aunt send DD shortbread for every holiday, and I love her more just for it… my Valentine’s box arrived yesterday, and I dove right in! Gorgeous cookies, as always(this year’s frog is very cute), but unlike many beautifully decorated cookies, these are DELICIOUS. I ate 7, yes, 7, last night… which is probably about 4 sticks of butter, but I don’t care. I am counting the days to Easter.

This is the retail outlet for their company. The 4 stars is purely for the Petit Fours, as the place is not a restaurant, just a cake cooler/counter. Petit Fours by Divine Delights are simply divine. The petits fours are a little on the sweet side in general. Their many flavors and the fact that you usually get fresh Petit Fours is a super plus. I prefer the non-chocolate(buttercream/vanilla) ones. The reason for the 4 stars is because I have seen much fancier«looking» petits fours made by pastry chefs. The ones offered by DD are pretty standard more like ones your mom would make with the colored chocolate enrobing and simple bow or lines design. They do have special seasonal designs such as Halloween, Autumn, Christmas, which are more fun, but still not super fancy chic. These petits fours make a great gift alternative to giving chocolates, candy, or cookies. It’s like giving many tiny cakes, what could be better than that?!
