For the Love of Art

For the Love of Art was such a gift for all three of my children but especially my youngest. It gave her the opportunity to meet other children her age as well as explore the little artist in her. Jen has a wonderful ability to relate to children of all ages and open their eye to a variety of creative projects and believe that there are no mistakes in art! Thank you Jen

My girls, the youngest being 4, have all been taking art from Jen for years now. They are absolutely obsessed with the paintings, crafts and works of art they crate all the while they are blissfully unaware of the exposure to the vast variety of artists and cultures steeped in history they’re being exposed to. I can’t think of a better way to enrich my little ones for an afternoon. You can’t put a price on great experiences and the care of lives greatest dividends. Thank you Jenn, we value all of the girls art work, PRICELESS!!!

This is not the thing to do. When I think is an art studio for kids I think Large open space with lots of attention. This is not the case if you toto their studio it is small and crowed no warm feeling. Plus the outside has dog poop which my daughter stepped in. The stairs to get down are very steep and dangerous.

My daughters have been taking classes with Jennifer Richardson for years & absolutely LOVE it! She provides a wonderful, warm atmosphere in which creativity & love of art is nurtured & encouraged. She incorporates different artists’ styles & medium & truly believes each child is an artist. I’m thrilled with the artwork they come home with & more importantly the pride, joy & happiness that beams from their faces in having created the artwork themselves.

We recently took our son to a birthday party at this place, and I was surprised that they could even have a license to cater to children’s activities. The Premises is located in a basement of a residential home. Access to the «studio» is quite difficult and in my opinion dangerous. As you walk alongside their home with large thorny rose bushes to your right there is a three-​stair wobbly wooden stair case leading up to a very steep wooden staircase going down. Stairs are everywhere… my son, in fact fell off the concrete stairs leading to the «studio». The yard, adjacent to the «studio» is full of dog poop, old toys and a damaged trampoline… get the picture, yeah… pretty ghetto! I don’t know what the cost was for each child to paint and embellish a cardboard crown, but being limited to 5 feathers and 4 «gems» was a little cheap. Most of their markers don’t work and were all dry! To offer this venue for birthday parties is a stretch… the only area to set up was outside under the upper level decking… and on this occasion it was cold and windy, rendering it farily difficult for the parents. It’s a good thing I didn’t bring my baby and her stroller, access would have been impossible! In fact other than the chairs the children sat at, there was nowhere to sit. I would not under any circumstances recommend this place. Perhaps the owner needs to rent a studio with adequate space to accomodate the children and parents in a safe environment.

My daughter has been learning to paint (and to appreciate the world of art) through Jennifer Richardson and For the Love of Art for the past 3 or 4 years. My daughter is now 14 and has experienced numerous extracurricular classes, camps and explorations. This has always been her favorite — by a long shot. She now identifies herself more as an artist than probably any other way. I can’t recommend Jennifer or her classes more highly. As another reviewer commented. .. absolutely the best thing I ever offered my daughter.

This is such a great and welcoming place for kids to explore their artistic side. My daughter has been attending for 6 months now and she looks forward to it each week. She has done many paintings, sculptures, and crafts. One really great thing about the program is they provide guidance such as a book of Monet paintings for inspiration or a theme such as animals, but the work itself if entirely by the students. It’s something they can really own and be proud of.
