Magic Nails

Nice people, horrible at coats & designs. I am picky but I don’t know if I’ve seen worse on my nails before.
I just recently moved to Petaluma from Rohnert Park, so I wanted to find a closer nail shop. When I looked on Unilocal,I was looking for a nail salon with good reviews but also at a reasonable rate. After reading ¾ positive reviews on Magic Nails, I decided to go there. I called and made an appointment; David did my nails and there was no one else in the salon. He was very nice, asked me questions about life but also let me relax. He did an amazing job on the filling of my nails and even went to the extent of clipping off parts of the nail that had air pockets/​bubbles. Then when I asked for black gel, he said they didn’t have any, so I chose white. He proceeded to put on two white coats but I could still see the clear (nail) underneath the coats. I was hoping he would put on another coat but he didn’t. Next was the design that I asked for; I told him he could do whatever design he wanted. He started with a cool black design which looked great on the white nail but one design was quite a bit shorter as compared to the other design on the other nail. Silver sparkle was added next which was a great accent to the black design but again, one nail didn’t match the arch of the other for the silver sparkle. (I told you I was picky). More gold sparkle was added to the center of the original black design which came out chunky from (I’m assuming), was old nail polish. David put jewels on my nail which I liked until he had to use globs of glue to keep them on and I swear my middle nail (which contained the designs) looked so thick full of clear polish and glue. After this, he put my nails in front of the mini fan which contained heat. I have been getting my nails done for quite some time now, but I thought maybe this was a new thing, so I didn’t question it. Well, my instincts were right because the polish of the design started melting and overlapping together which looked like some kind of abstract art… –_​_​– not the look I wanted or David intended. David had to go, so his wife Lisa was there. Her and I were talking and she was really nice too, but when I told her nicely about the heat melting the design (which looked terrible), she just said, «Oh it’s okay» and proceeded to put ANOTHER clear coat of polish on the middle nails. As I drove away, I was already thinking how much I didn’t like my nails and I honestly don’t know if that has ever happened in all the years that I’ve been getting my nails done. Sweet people but horrible on the coats and designs. Hope this helps!

After almost 2 hours and $ 40 for a mani/​pedi I was really sad at what a waste this was. No one else was in the salon and she took forever so you’d think I would have gotten great service, but no. Sadly when I got home and looked at my nails I could see that I had tons of cuts all around my nails that were almost bleeding and the polish she used did not even reach my cuticles. After 2 days it was chipping and after 3 almost half the polish had peeled off. There is no price sheet listed so I don’t even know if I was charged correctly or not, but this was too much for such a sub-​par service.

I highly recommend magic nails!!! I have been coming her for over 5 years & they do an amazing job every time! They have not once cut or hurt me & the staff is super friendly ! They also do a great job waxing eyebrows !

I came here on my lunch break with short notice. They were kind enough not only to fit me in — but to pay very close attention to my manicure. I finally had someone trim my cuticles correctly without cutting me! I got the gelish manicure — and I was pleasantly surprised at the price! Wonderful service and a great manicure! Can’t wait to go back!

I have been going to this nail salon for over 10 years. David does a great job and Lisa and the staff are so friendly. I love this place. Thank you guys for such great service.
