This review is not for the shop itself, as anybody with a pulse and a personality knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Mikes Barber Shop is the place to go. Mike, Manny, Lou, Danny and any other barber to cut hair here are pros… This review is for the whiney little chodes who wander in off the streets expecting a red carpet roll out, a nice heated pedicure tub to dip their pretty little feet in, a complimentary lobster dinner and a one on one cuddle session with a fuzzy foof straight from Beverly Hills. You won’t find that stuff at Mike’s. No, instead you will find the following: 1. Playboy magazine 2. Beer 3. Cussing 4. Insults 5. Loud voices 6. Laughter 7. Perfectly timed farts 8. Offended people timidly hiding in the corner 9. Awesome barbers 10. Sports 11. Cash only haircuts. Leave your Visa Platinum card in your Prius. 12. Loyal, returning customers who laugh at your bad reviews. 13. Lightning 14. Testosterone 15. Hella other cool shit 16. Good haircuts 17. That YouTube chick that twerks If that stuff offends you then move to Fairfax and ride bicycles in the car lane.

Best shop in Sonoma county and don’t let anyone tell you differently tell you go there. This place truly has the barbershop atmosphere, first come first serve, cash only, and the best laughs. All the barbers and customers will keep the place lively with their no filter jokes and talks, but that’s what makes it a barbershop. But for the best cuts in Northern California you go to Manny, the man can cut.

First time here and was very impressed. Mike is so funny! I’m very picky with my two son’s haircuts and Mike does an excellent job! It’s a first come first serve basis, so you may have to wait. But FYI, totally worth it!

They are expensive, and very slow but they do great haircuts. Unfortunately, they don’t take appointments and don’t keep a list. So you can end up waiting and waiting and waiting and then get bumped when a «friend» walks in. My sons love the haircuts they get here, but they don’t have the patience to wait for long periods and I hate to subject them to the«lively» inappropriate language and conversations that they will hear while they wait and while they are in the chair. Not an appropriate place for kids.

If you are sensitive, have virgin ears, are politically correct or are easily offended, go to a salon. If you want a barber shop that pays attention to detail and gives a great cut every time, this is the place! Yes it can get loud, boisterous and downright dirty! But it’s all part of the experience! Never have I been able to get a consistent cut every time until I walked through the door of this establishment.

I honestly love this shop. The guys are always hilarious and do an amazing job on my fiancé! I personally am a hairdresser and as all hairdressers know sometimes we don’t have time to do our picky mans hair all the time so I trust mike and the guys to take care of him. I also get my hair designs here. Manny does them and they always are a showstopper. Seriously I get stopped all the time. Women trust the guys here to make your boys look like proper men and your husbands and boyfriends looking sexy and desirable! I trust these guys a lot and recommend them to my clients all the time.

First time here. My husband goes in and the guy cutting his hair kept stopping to talk to his friend who came in to chat. He could not talk and cut at the same time and was ignoring my husband the entire time. He was practically yelling as he talked about his baby mama and«girl» and complained in a mimicked whinny voice about how people sang to him on his birthday, whispering to his friend about the sex after, and cussing the whole time. They also had an empty six pack, in n out bags, and grey goose bottles out. He was giving my husband a tapered fade which usually takes 20 min at our regular shop which was closed today. He didn’t even touch the front of his hair, never used scissors, only buzzers, and it took him at least 40 min. They cut him with the razor, it was 26 bucks, and they only take cash.

Been getting my haircut by mike since he opened his shop 11 years ago. Always clean, professional and perfect. It is a mans barber shop with adult conversation. When women and children are present, all patrons are on their best behavior. Mike and his staff provide excellent service.

Worst haircut I have had in the last 15 years. The man cutting my hair asked keep the sideburns? I said yes and he asked me again and I said yes then he cut them off…

This place is a staple as far as barber shops go… Outstanding service … You ask for the type of hair cut you want … And that’s what you get … Plus it’s a great time waiting as well!

Slow servivce today all the barbers were talking about having sex with underage girls eating egg mcmuffins while cutting my fiancès hair making both racist and homophobic remarks waited almost two hours due to lack of efficiency six people walked out without getting any form of service just terrible I feel sorry for the owner but I will make sure no one in this city that is in my circle will ever come back to this establishment just God awful.

Newly arrived in Petaluma looking for a decent barber shop, read all the Unilocal reviews and gave Mike’s a try. The guy cutting my hair did a reasonable job but obviously failed to listened as I had told him NOT to cut off the sideburns, just trim’ em. Complete disaster, both sideburns gone, above the ear. Skipped the place next time in favour of another local shop, and went back to Mike’s last week. Same instructions as before re sideburns, only this time, one was left on and another completely gone. Additionally, my ear was cut and bleeding when I left, and the back line was awful. I am not prepared to pay to go through this again so adiós Mike’s — Never again

No doubt the best barber shop in the North Bay. Mike, Lou, and Manny are the best in the business. That’s it. Thank you. Chris Pasquin

I recently moved to Petaluma from LA and was really unsure of where to get my hair cut — In fact, for the first few months I was driving to SF rather than rolling the dice here in town. Unilocal was not providing clear direction either — all of the reviews on local shops seemed either outdated or mixed :( Finally I decided to take a chance on Mike’s because it’s so close to my new house — and it was a gamble that paid off! The atmosphere is 100% authentic barbershop. These are guy’s guys who joke a lot and laugh a lot(don’t worry moms and dads, they do clean it up if you’re here with a young child). Reminds me of shops where I grew up(Boston). Mike is hilarious. I’ve only had my haircut by Mannie, because he’s amazing. Truly a master barber capable of blending old school, classic styling with new school precision clipper cuts — side part with a tight fade? Best in the biz, hands down. Prices are great. The wait varies — somedays it’s crowded, other days it’s empty — but I don’t mind waiting, because it’s worth the wait. **Side note, I tried to do some touch-ups on my hair at home with clippers — totally jacked myself up — Mannie brought me in and fixed me up for free. In exchange, I promised to never try to cut my own hair again. Put your trust in Mannie and Mike, they’ll take care of you ;)
