I will give this 2 stars because I really liked the owner. Having said that, I went in yesterday for them to do my nails with gel. I am not sure if the color appeared different on me or if it was not the same color but, it didn’t look good. The lady told me to wait for the 2^nd coat. I did and ultimately ended up not liking the color. She was upset because she could tell I didn’t like the color. I took full responsibility and left thinking I was ok with it. I called today and said I wanted to come in and change the color, I was completely prepared to pay for a new set. The lady who did my nails originally was angry from the moment I walked in, I told her it was my fault and that I would pay her. She proceeded to do my nails in a new color, but appeared angry the whole time. At the end she said I hope you are happy with them now. And I was with the color. I didn’t have my glasses on until I went back to work. I showed my co-​worker and she said that was the worst nail job she had ever seen. When I looked closely it was not good! There were streaks and edges missed. Unfortunately I think she took it too personal that I didn’t like the color and did a crappy job!!! Again, in the owners defense she would not let me pay full price, thank god! I will not go back, because I will forever feel uncomfortable with the way it played out. Sad…

So I feel kinda bad leaving a negative review because the two women working here are so nice but my last experience was not good. I got a gel manicure about a week ago and it looked like a 6 year old did it. I don’t have a picture unfortunately but the woman basically missed a bunch of spots. It was like she painted my nails blind! I had never had such a disappointing manicure. I mean maybe it was the nail polish but even then I feel like she should’ve put more effort into detail. It got awkward too because I kept pointing out areas she missed and she just looked confused and didn’t fix it. I should’ve complained but I hate confrontation. I just didn’t know what to do. I hate wasting money. I don’t know what the deal was though. I’ve gotten a dozen great gel manicures in the past here. Maybe it was just an off day for her… I dunno. I won’t be going back. I don’t want to risk wasting my money and time again.

Ask for Rose she is amazing! So I went on here with my aricle nails falling off Rose took what was left off, and did a regular manicure. I had so much damage from the fake nails she cleaned my nails all up. I did a gel finish, manicure all for $ 25.00 screaming deal considering she cleaned Up the mess from the fake nails. If I could give her 10 stars I would. Thanks Rose

The ladies are kind and accommodating and did a top notch gel manicure and pedicure. The salon is peaceful and relaxing… as it should be. Highly recommend!

This was the worst manicure experience I have ever received!!!
I spontaneously stopped by this place in hopes that they could fix my chipped manicure. I asked to keep the length and shape and to apply gel polish. She seemed very distracted by the costumers that were getting there nails done by someone else. She even got up to hug them goodbye in the middle of taking off my polish.
During the manicure she used an electric file which kept hurting me. Then proceeded to cut the whole length of my nail off which I had been growing out for four months! It was the longest my nails had ever been.
I told her so and she got very defensive and acted like I hadn’t specified what I wanted. I think she was too distracted by her friends. She proceeded to cut the other hand leaving the length on the other side… I asked her to make both hands even. She was very rude to me the whole time.
Once my nails were cut and filed she had me put my hands into the UV light. WITH OUT POLISH ON MY FINGERS??? Even put a towel over the light and walked away leaving my hands cooking. I couldn’t take it any more and walked out in disbelief.
I wish I could give this place 0 stars!

I don’t know why I don’t come here more often, I need to start.
The owner is so friendly and we had some wonderful conversations when I went in this past Wednesday! This place is so different from the other salons I have been to in town. All in all I got a beautiful manicure and pedicure combo, the price was right and I would absolutely recommend to a friend.

Cindy does the best eyebrow waxing/​shaping ever! Seriously don’t go to anyone else she is the best. Trust me it’s your face you don’t want anyone else doing your eyebrows!

They did an amazing job! For both my wife and my daughter!

I like this salon. Friendly owner, never too crowded & they take their time. Shop is tidy, spa chairs comfy. Great value & service. Nails look awesome too.

I love My Salon! They guys and gals who work there are always nice and friendly. I usually have my kids with me when I go and they have never been a problem to have there (Rose who I think is the owner always welcomes the kids and chats with them). I always go here for my pedicures and they have AMAZING, let me say it again AMAZING massage pedicure chairs. What I love about this place is that you never feel rushed & they take their time with you. The are very affordable and my daughter loves getting her manicure and pedicure with me. They paint really cute daisy flowers on toe nails too! They usually have the Food Network channel on the giant flat screen TV so that is a fun thing to look forward to as well. If you are looking for an affordable, quality place to go, definitely try My Salon!

I went to this salon because of the great review, I had just the opposite result. Granted, they were very very friendly and I was so happy that I may have found (finally) the best salon. But…
The owner was not the one who did my nails, and the gal was very nice but didn’t listen to one of my requests:
I wanted an opaque pink color, she talked me into a French (of course because she could charge more) & I said I wanted them thin, thin. Well, I have ten blobs of acrylic on the ends of my fingers. The polish has yet to dry and it’s been over 4 hours, it’s like gooey glue. The shapes are uneven, my nails shoot off to the sides, not one is straight on my hand, not are they a nice shape. And did I mention that my nails are at least ¼″ thick? I’m so disappointed. I’ve never had such a terrible acrylic fill.

I had two very bad experiences at Shangr La Nails here in Petaluma — I mean just horrible including a bloody ripped finger that took weeks to heal and a hostile and argumentative owner.
I went across the street to My Salon and «My» who I believe is the owner did my nails and they are the best I’ve had in 25 years of getting my nails done — no kidding.
Not only is My very sweet and professional — THEY ALWAYS REMEMBER ME AND WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO.
My acrylics are so smooth and thin — they are perfect every time.
I referred my boss’s wife to them and now she’s a regular too.
