Riverfront Gallery is a pleasant little spot in old downtown Petaluma. Petaluma is a pedestrian-friendly town. The Riverfront hosts receptions and events, sharing its art with the community. It’s got great variety– from Vincent James’ photographs of Oregon coast beaches to Jim Coda’s pictures of Yellowstone, from Ed Price’s resin sculptures of um, cowboy&cowgirls from the waist down, to Karen Spratt’s fanciful takes on classic art. Spratt’s work is the highlight of the gallery and prints are reasonable prices. She depicts Princess Leia&Han Solo kissing in a car, the great wave by Mt. Fuji literally in a tea cup, and St. Catherine of Alexandria in modern-day San Francisco. It’s a great place to stop and meditate.

Jerri, the shop curator is very friendly. Kristen, the person who greats you wants to test you. Once you bypass her the place is much nicer. Beautiful pieces that for the most part focus on photography at the moment. A few painter occupy the gallery. Priced reasonably with a variety of artists working in the Bay Area. Check it out and you may find something you like.
