The owner of this place treats his employees like crap. There’s always a think layer of grime on the floor behind the counter behind the counter. the coffee is standard. The bagels are tastey. But the toppings for the bagel sandwiches could be a lot fresher. mushy sprouts? No thank you.

We recently moved to Peterborough and the Bagel Mill was recommended to us. We finally made it over there last week. From start to finish it is some of the poorest and most unhygienic service we have ever experienced. A young girl or guy(couldn’t distinguish) «helped» us at the front counter. First my boyfriend asked what made the crunchy apple bagels crunchy. The worker proceeded to take the bagel, un-gloved in hand, rub his/her dirty fingers all over the crunchy topping, and toss the bagel back into the bin! We were both disgusted, and my boyfriend«mysteriously» decided to not try thAt type of bagel. Next, I ordered mine and wanted it slightly heated. The worker tossed it into the microwave surface, without anything beneath it, not even a napkin. I was grossed out but didn’t say anything. It could be worse, after all. Then worse happened. Next, my boyfriend ordered two types of bagels. The worker took our money, with gloves on now, before proceeding to get my boyfriend’s bagels. S/he handled the money with gloves on, then kept the gloves on and grabbed my boyfriend’s bagels with money-gloves still on!!! This is absolutely disgusting, and I spoke up at this point. S/he gave me a dirty look, and we received poor service the rest of our stay. S/he still gave him the money bagels, which I thought was ridiculous! He ended up eating them in disgust, but I wouldn’t touch them. All around us in the lobby was a massive cloud of black flies, landing on everything in sight. This just added to the overall experience, as you can imagine. We received dirty looks the whole time we ate. My boyfriend went back up to order something else later on, and the female manager and the worker said very loudly, «I don’t care if they’re still here, we’re cleaning the entire lobby and putting up all the chairs at 4:00.» The worker again acted like a complete a-hole toward us, and we very Gladly left… Forever! The bagels weren’t even that good, and definitely weren’t worth getting ill over. They need to check this worker and teach him/her the basics of restaurant hygiene. At every step in our order there was a hygiene problem, and that’s too much for me. Never Going Back.

Food was great, bagels here are really original. But the servers behind the counter are rude and seem to rush you while your making a decision.

Horrible customer service. And I’m not a fan of the microwaved eggs that they nuke right in front of you. I won’t be going back.

Every visit home includes a visit to «the mill». I have stopped many places along the road and cannot find bagels that compare. I did not get to take a picture of my bagel sandwich because I devoured it in seconds. The spinach garlic bagels are to die for… even the plain bagel and plain cream cheese are great. If your looking for a bagel, look no further!

I absolutely love this place. Their bagels are some of the best I’ve ever had and the cream cheese is so good! A few complaints though, the turkey that they use on their sandwiches is gray, slimy and fake tasting. Obviously the cheapest you can buy. I wish that they would use a good, known brand like Boar’s head. Also, they continue to use ingredients even after they have clearly gone bad. Don’t order sprouts or lettuce on a weekend because they will still put the brown, rancid things on your sandwich. I would gladly pay more for my sandwich knowing that the ingredients were fresh and the best. The owner seems like a cheap, angry man. It seems odd to have a restaurant in Peterborough that doesn’t serve organic and local ingredients. How about fresh at the very least? I’ll just bring my bagels home and make my sandwiches there. Too bad.

These bagels top all the bagels in Boston! The bagels are fresh, coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is warm and homey– also a great area to eat outside. I stop here every time I’m in the area.

My only complaint would be the wait, 6 – 7 people in line in front of me or standing around in front of the counter are always a deterrent that send me walking the other way. The wifi is great, I don’t have a complaint and the seating area is plenty for the customers here. On one occasion i have observed someone waiting for a sandwich that was never made after 15 – 20 minutes. A list of apologies and reasons were provide but for me that would tell me if there is more than 3 people in front of me in line that i wouldn’t even bother placing an order at the chance that what i ordered wasn’t made. Still I personally have never had a bad experience and have always enjoyed what i have got, how quickly my order came up and how friendly the staff is. The reality isn’t really another place like this in town so one might say the wait is worth it. A better variety and better quality bagel than anyone else in the area and then some.

Every time of going there, I found the bagels were very fresh, the people very enjoyable talk to. I love the coffee love the environment I love the atmosphere. If I have time in the morning during my hectic schedule, that’s the place that I go to focus and set up for my day. These guys are really great.

Tasty bagels with a few interesting varieties, although I usually just get a breakfast sandwich on an everything. Everything bagels don’t really have«everything» but they have a bunch of stuff on them like salt and poppy seeds. I recommend their scallion and bacon cream cheese as well. On the downside the bagels are a little small, and they microwave their eggs which is a little weird. I say just get a griddle and fry them, right? Anyways they have some nice baked goods too. Also they have day old bagels, and«doggie» bagels which are like older bagels that are really stale. I would say stick with the fresh ones though they are easier on your teeth! PS if you were wondering, its not in an actual mill, they just call it that because they make bagels there sort of like a mill makes stuff like cloth or paper. I am not really sure though, I’ve never been in the back. Anyways its good so check it out…

Bagel Mill is hard to beat! The cream cheese options are amazing. I love the spinach garlic bagels most of all. I just wish they had a griddle to cook the eggs on; I love a good bagel breakfast sandwich, just not microwaved. Doggie bagels are thoughtful, just be sure not to give your pet anything with garlic or onion on it! I always get a dozen bagels and eat them at home.

Nicely situated near our route between home and relatives, this stop got the nod once before today. That visit ensured a return. A good selection of well made bagels, foundation for ample cream cheese or one of many considerable sandwiches, makes it a smart choice for lunch. It’s got plenty of seating, friendly service, varied beverages, nice art, and a local feel, but it’s slightly tricky to find for being a minute off the highway. We haven’t sampled the soup, but the salads we’ve picked have been unimaginative– discouraging for the gluten-free dietee. There are good choices in town, but this off-the-beaten-track bakery is easy and relaxing… kid-friendly, too.

Well, I am in the area for a week of relaxing visiting a friend. Decided to go here for some coffee and use my laptop. As I do many times in NYC and other places around the country. This place is the first coffee house that told me that my stay of 1:30 was to long due to reserve tables for regular customers. «Regular Customers» what! At a coffee house offering free Wi-Fi. Did not know that I had to make reservations, and what constitute a regular customer since I just spent $ 10.00. I was outrage with the owner coming over to my table and mentioning this to me, and how I did not read the folded piece of paper on the table. Which was on the floor when I got there. This was my last visit to this coffee house, and my friend also will no longer visit. Now, being a minority hopefully would not have anything to do with this event in today’s world.

I love their bagels. Their home made cream cheese(scallion) could use a touch more flavor, but its good and worth getting! Only thing that could be better is the flavor in the scones and muffins(blueberry) could have more taste. Not sure how that’s done, but they could use it. I stop there every time on my way between home and VT and LOVE their bagels. Finding good bagels is hard!

The Bagel Mill is a hidden jewel in a nondescript location. Though the bagels were a real treat in many seasonal flavors such pumpkin, apple crunch and orange cranberry. They are best when hot and soft, not to mention cheap. They also had sandwiches and New England coffee. The atmosphere has a country and homey feel, not very modern but thats what makes it different. When passing through the area a must stop for treat.

I love the cinnamon bagels at the Bagel Mill. They are tender on the inside with a sugary cinnamon crust that is divine. It sounds funny, but I spread them with peanut butter and it is to die for. Great coffee, tons of freshly made bagels, and WiFi makes this a perfect spot to settle in with my laptop and enjoy a lazy weekend morning.

Great place to wait while your car is being serviced at B-C Auto, right across the street. Friendly, relaxed place — free wifi. Nice doggie treats [stale bagles!] and excellent fresh [baked on the premise] site. Great critter-cam on their FB site — ever see a Fisher eat a bagel?
