This place is so delicious!!! And Charlie is SO nice! I couldn’t finish my small ice cream but to be fair he did warn me it was the size of two tennis balls and boy was he right. I would’ve definitely finished it if I could’ve though.

I have to say I was a fan of this place but probably wouldn’t do again after my last experience. The frappé I got was made with milk that had gone bad, unfortunately it was so hot out I drank most of it before I realized and nearly threw up all over my car. To try and make up for it my wife let me try her ice cream cone but as I was licking the ice cream the stale cone broke the ice cream fell in my lap and then onto the floor. I was able to look past how bad it smells driving up but now I drive by and just feel sick to my stomach.

Real good ice cream and BBQ. We’ve stopped here several times on our way home to RI from Highland Lake. Homemade ice cream, pulled pork, and ribs.

The soft serve ice cream here is fantastic! We stopped by on a cold rainy day and there were a few cars there. When we walked up to the window Charlie asked us how we were doing. My wife is suspicious about all soft serve chocolate places and asked to taste it before ordering. Charlie said no problem and told us that his soft serve is the only 10% Milk fat soft serve around, and that all the other shops served 4−5%. He told us that would make his ice cream taste thicker and creamier. Well, he was right. My wife loved her chocolate and I was impressed with my vanilla. We’re living near Harrisville for the summer, and we’ve been looking for a great soft serve ice cream place near us, and now we know we’ll be coming back to Charlie’s on a regular basis. ps: Charlie is very friendly.

Great ice cream and the owner is very nice. Their hot dogs are good, naturally cased dogs and come with all the toppings. They also have some good pulled pork which surprised me. I’ll stop here every time I pass through.

Really yum ice cream(with some wild flavors available) on a random little side of the highway. Giving me the option to douse it in chocolate sauce as well? Sold. Definitely glad we found this place on our road-trip, it was great to tide us over until our campfire dinner.

Stopped at Charlie’s with friends for ice cream. Charlie met us with enthusiasm and invited us to try his smoked pork and fresh lobster. Absolutely must return to try them! Thanks Charlie!

One word, pulled pork. Wait, that’s two words. I’m a smoked meat afficianado and I was pleasantly surprised to find that Charlies has smoked, pulled pork on weekends and that’s it really, really good. It’s so good that I prefer it without sauce. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!

This is the best ice cream stand around. Ice cream is made local and is creamy and not to sugary like others

Oh Charlie’s! Don’t tell SF I told you this… but your ice cream puts all their artisanal ice cream joints to shame. We were just cruising by down the highway at the speed of light and I don’t even know how your tiny place caught our eye, but hot dang! It was a blessing that it did! Your ice cream was so fresh, so creamy, so buttery, so smooth, so not-icky-generic-sugary! Made with fresh cream from happy cows. Your scoops… baseball sized scoops it seemed because I was hypnotized by their generous size!(For what I pay for a tiny scoop in SF, I’d say I was loving your prices.) The Blackberry Chip and Carmel with Chocolate Covered Pretzels rocked my world. The Mint Chip cone with choco jimmies on top wasn’t too far behind in the taste-bud rocking department. Really it may have been love at first lick. I equally enjoyed our conversation with the owner about his dreams and aspirations about carrying on the ice-cream shop family business and expanding it in the future… I must have relentlessly lectured the dear man about using social media to spread the word via free advertising with facebook, twitter, Unilocal etc. etc. etc. yap yap yap… etc. the ways of todays social marketing… yap yap yap, as he attentively listened. Got to love a man who listens attentively! Just a kind genuine guy selling some of the most heavenly & top-quality ice cream on earth! I hope his dreams are fulfilled– and more…

A very cute old-fashioned country style ice cream shop. We stopped with our family to get the kids something sweet and this was a hit. They have a large variety of flavors to choose from. I actually tasted ‘Caribbean Coconut’ and it was yummy. We ended up with ‘Cookies and Cream’ and ‘Strawberries and Cream’. I just have to say that this is by far the best ‘Strawberries and Cream’ ice cream I have ever had. The large fresh strawberries make it perfect. The only thing that could have make this place better would be the weather which was rainy.
