My boyfriend and I had just gotten into New Hampshire on Christmas Eve to spend the holidays with his entire family. He grew up in Peterborough so it was a fun town to spend time in. We had a little bit of a wait in order to get our table but it was fine because we had drinks at the bar and all was well. The décor is nice and it’s a really nice ambiance for a sushi joint. The service was great and we all got a ton of food. Nick and I got this delicious sashimi boat — very delicious and fresh tasting. We also ordered this Volcano fish bowel drink — which was HUGE. We all had long straws and shared the drink, which was fun. We ended up getting kind of drunk. Overall this is a great sushi place to go to in Peterborough.

I had the pleasure of dining at Kogetsu tonight. Not only is the food amazing, the waitstaff is incredible. They are kind, attentive and patient. I’ve been to the restaurant many times when it was Lee’s Mount Fuji and I can say they were great then, and they are amazing now. Everything was nice and fresh! They even added a beautiful little bar for those swinging by quickly, or just looking for a cocktail and a comfortable place to sit while waiting for take out food. Excellent job!

New owners aren’t ‘new’. Same family, same dreadful food, same poor service. Only the name has changed.

We were excited to see what the new owners would do with this place. Our first try under new ownership was pretty good, although the wait was very long. We were patient seeing as how they were training new staff. One month later we tried again– within an hour of eating, the three of us were sick… and we didn’t even eat the same food! We each ordered a different fish. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

My favorite Tom Yum soup anywhere and some unique sushi rolls. They also have generals fried tofu that also beats anywhere I have ever ordered it. They remember us every time we go in there, even if it has been months since our last visit.(we have moved away) I’ve never had a bad experience there and I love the building. I stop by whenever I am in the area.

We just moved to Peterborough and this restaurant came highly recommended by locals, so we checked it out last night. Compared to Ming Du restaurant in Hillsborough, Mt. Fuji was very disappointing. It was twice the price, half the food, and half the flavor of Ming Du. It was pretty average, and we’re unsure why so many recommended it. We would rather drive all the way to Hillsborough and back to get twice the food, for half the price, that’s at least twice as good, if not 3 times better. Two stars because it was palatable, but just. mehh. Not impressed.

We are boycotting this dump. Not even really good for drinks. It is really really really too bad because we really like the atmosphere at this location.

First, the food and tea were served lukewarm. Second, the white rice I had with my meal was terrible-and it is hard to mess up white rice. It tasted funny and did not taste fresh-it tasted old, maybe re-heated to lukewarm. Third, all three dishes served at our table i.e. mixed vegetables with beef, «happy family», and a vegetable stir fry were all served with the same, weird red sauce. The sauce was horrible; not like an authentic stir fry sauce made with soy sauce, etc. The dishes served at the table next to us also had the weird red sauce. I assume this sauce is from a bottle or can, and not freshly made. It appears that they just pour the sauce over everything on the menu.

My mother and I enjoy this restaurant immensely and I absolutely recommend it! There are few restaurants in the area similar, so I would definitely suggest giving it a try. The sushi is wonderfully made and the drinks are also made well. I recommend sitting outside or by a window because there is a very pleasant view of the water. The hostesses and servers are very welcoming and kind as well. So, please do not let the other reviews deter you… I worked at an extremely popular restaurant in D.C. that in fact just won a James Beard award so I would say I am a fairly good judge on restaurant quality.

The original is so much better. Food is inconsistent at this location.

Underwhelmed. dumplings were too starching, Crab ragoons the same and too much cream cheese. soup was good. Its an ok place to too expensive for the quality of food.

Delicious food, great location(although we often get take-out)…my mom says the Crab Rangoons are the best she’s ever had. Love their vegetarian selections as well.

I’ve had supermarket sushi that has more flavor than the sushi here. Came for take-out on New Years Eve 2 years ago & haven’t been back since. Chinese food was just so-so & sushi was bland & tasteless. Won’t be back. If you have a sushi craving, the sushi from Market Basket is Rindge is tastier!

The only thing worse than their sushi is their service. Seated with menus and ice water and never had service again. Had to ask someone to take our order and then, when the order was not even close to what I asked for, there was no one to tell because no one ever came back. When they brought the bill I pointed to my untouched plate, the waitress brought some guy over that argued that I was in the wrong. Really? Before you think«another demanding customer», let me tell you that I am the exact opposite. Have been a server and in hospitality for YEARS so I HATE to make their job any harder. Plus, I eat sushi 8 – 10 times a month and I know a spicy salmon roll is not salmon, rice, wrapped in seaweed w/spicy sauce on top. Epic EPIC fail and these are just the highlights. Shame too because building and view are awesome. Note: signed up for Unilocal specifically to warn others because I used Unilocal reviews to choose this restaurant. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one!

Lee & Mt. Fuji appears to be your best bet for chinese food around this area, which isn’t a bad thing. The portions are very reasonable for the price, but the dishes aren’t very flavorful. The General Tso’s in particular didn’t taste very ‘exotic’ — but extra points for giving you the option of having white or dark meat — the chicken itself was fresh & white! Not all breaded, either. If they could make their dishes a little bit more exciting in terms of taste, then it’d be perfect. Also, I should note: we didn’t eat at the restaurant, we were just inside to pick up our take-out, but there was a strong odor of mildew and a feeling of dampness that, if it was obvious from the hostess’ station, must be even more apparent in the eating spaces. There was a dehumidifier on in the lower portion of the restaurant — maybe there was a water leak of some kind? Who knows, but it was kind of unpleasant.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times over the past few years. I have never been disappointed! A bunch of friends and I went after hiking Monadnock, around 230? It was quite empty. We sat next to the window so we could see the falls. I’ve always been impressed with how they renovated the place, very nice. Water came very fast. Their lunch specials were awesome! Entrée type dish with white or brown rice, and soup was $ 7.95. I also got their Maki combination, two of a choice of maki rolls for I think $ 8 dollars. The sushi wasn’t bad, but I have had better. I got the ginger scallion chicken… flavorful! Their portions also aren’t all that huge… which is nice if you don’t want to eat a lot or can’t take it home. Stated in another review, it is definitely a place for locals. But a great place! :)

Most locals here love Lee and Mt Fuji… I guess I will never quite be local. The location is gorgeous, in an old renovated boiler house. Windows look out on a waterfall and stream. All types of asian food available here, which is usually a warning sign. The chinese is just okay. Sushi is really dry, and the rice is wrong. Without it, the sushi just doesn’t work. Unfortunately, there aren’t really any competitors in the area, which explains its popularity.
