Love love love this place. So hard to order off the regular menu when their specials are amazing. But the butternut squash ravioli is STUNNING! Try the crazy connie cocktail, and save room for dessert.

Been here a few times and despite wanting to try something new I always get the beef medallions. Really great food and service here.

This place just keeps getting better and better. Over the past year or so they’ve started to make their own pasta which is delicious. They have many new specials all the time and service is wonderful… drinks are good(and strong) too. It’s probably our favorite restaurant in the area at this time. Every meal we have is phenomenal from salad to dessert. It really couldn’t be better which is why I felt I really needed to update to 5 stars.

Marzano’s is rapidly becoming our favorite restaurant in Peterborough. The friendly and attentive staff provide excellent service, the food is delicious and beautifully presented, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. Salads are crisp and dressed to perfection, entrees are flavorful and delivered hot to the table, the bread with roasted garlic and olive oil is warm and tasty. We have enjoyed every visit.

Lame, did not like this place at all. Had dinner when there was a party of 30 or something that was so so loud that i couldn’t understand what my date was saying if she shouted in my ear. Our waittress thought that she was awesome because she could take our order without writing anything down, unfortunately that just meant that our order was messed up. Within 20 minutes of eating we were all sick, what are the chances of that? We all had to poop and had re-flux, not sure what is going on here but i am never going again to find out.

This place is never open when I try to eat there and the few times I;ve been lucky enough to find it open, the pretentiousness of the management and staff just put me in a bad mood. This place blows.

We went here for our second dinner in New Hampshire. We called ahead of time, but they said they could take us any time. Upon arriving, we were seated by a friendly hostess and then waited on at a booth. Our waitress was very helpful and had a quirky personality. My family was a big fan. We were served water and bread right away, but was not offered an alcohol menu, which was a little bizarre since they had a bar at the restaurant. When we asked for one though, our waitress was glad to provide it and the beer came out promptly. The bread was an italian loaf cut into chunks with salt and garlic on the top and bottom crusts. It was warm and soft inside, but a little too salty. It was also served with a garlic salted oil. So overall, the bread quality was pretty good, but overly salted. We ordered two salads to share, which ended up being perfect portion sizes. The waitress even split them up into 2 plates per salad. The salad was heavily dressed, so would recommend asking for it on the side if you don’t like a ton of dressing. We did this for 1 of the salads, which worked out very well. Other than that, the greens were fresh and crisp mostly, cherry tomatoes hard but sweet, crisp crunchy cucumbers, and raddicio. The menu listed fennel but I only found 1 little piece in mine unfortunately. The red wine vinaigrette was very tasty. For our entrees, we ordered the Vegan Spinach pasta ravioli with button and shiitake mushrooms and roasted garlic in marinara sauce, the haddock with capers, olives, marinara sauce, and figorelli pasta, a caprese salad, and the pork ribs, sweet sausage, and homemade meatballs in marinara over figorelli pasta. The ravioli were pretty good. The pasta was a bit weird and bitter tasting, and also a bit tough. The mushroom mixture was flavorful though. The fish was buttery tasting, and the caprese salad was nothing to rave about, have definitely had better. Little balls of fresh mozzarella had no salt and tomatoes were not very flavorful. My dish, the meats in marinara sauce was excellent. The meatballs were very flavorful, but simple and tender, not too salty. The pork rib was very tender and flavorful, and the sausage was also sweet and well cooked. The pasta was perfectly cooked and very homemade, as well as the marinara sauce, not too sweet or salty, and very flavorful and fresh. Overall, great dish, but HUGE! Actually, everything was huge, so keep this in mind. Food was very reasonably priced though for the portions they served.

Peterborough is a great day trip from Boston for folks in the mood for art, culture, and classic small New England town atmosphere. Marzano’s Trattoria has both a dining room, bar and outside seating with pretty flower boxes on the railings. The food is fresh, creative, well priced and suitable for many tastes. They do a great job with service, the staff is friendly, fun attentive, relaxed, professional all in one package! Come up for really good fare and not a trace of pretension.

The restaurant is quite cozy and in a great location in the center of Peterborough(a wonderfully quaint town to begin with). The façade looks like an old movie theater and is quite inviting. The menu features Italian food and pizza. Their stated principal is that they cook good ingredients simply, and they do it well! When we went, there were a variety is specials to go along with the ample but not overwhelming menu. The four people in our party all throughly enjoyed their meals, appetizers through luscious desserts. One of the most remarkable things about our experience was an incredibly knowledgable waiter whose suggestions for meals were spot on and who knew the wine menu and its pairings in detail. This restaurants comes highly recommended for a nice and leisurely dinner and a wonderful overall dining experience.

Starting going here during soft opening — overheard a rumor in the local grocery store! Plus I can pek out my office window and see the silver was finally on the table! Have been back numerous times since. It is a favorite as my husband and IlikeIta Italian and the staff rocks. Some talk too much to us, askew ant to enjoy our own company but it’s ok. Look at the menu, ilkethe amount of options — not to many but enough! Delicious bread with olive oil and roasted garlic dip. Some red wine… And my favorite the Portobello parmagna. My husband can’t stop ordering the veal piccata. Great prices too, the actually have $ 10 entrees. We also split a Caesar, the cheese is now disappointedly shreddedversesshaved and admittedly sometimes too wet with dressing — I would advise to ask the to go easy on it. I also like the vodka on rigatoni — they have shrimp on it that I ask to be removed(just a personal preference) it is a heavy dish though, be hungry! Desse — we always get 2 espressos and share something. Favorite is lemon cake or the cannolis See you there! Outdoor seating is a nice option too!

For Peterborough, this is the best option for Italian. The pasta is fresh and authentic and the food is fairly priced. I love the lobster ravioli and shrimp scampi.

I went to Marzano’s on Friday night. Our reservation was not made correctly, but was very easily taken care of once we arrived. The restaurant was very clean and the service was great. Our waiter knew everything about every meal and made excellent suggestions. When I looked at the menu, I wasn’t overly impressed, but when I heard the specials, my decision was much easier. We went with the fried oyster appetizer, and I got the roasted chicken special over risotto. The oysters were pretty good; the gorgonzola dipping sauce was an added bonus to the oysters too! When my entrée came out it looked great. I was not surprised when it tasted even better. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the risotto was creamy and perfectly cooked. The roasted onions and garlic accompanied the dish perfectly. So, overall, everything was excellent. After we finished our meal, we stayed to chat for a while. We were never rushed and our drinks were always getting refilled. I would highly recommend Marzano’s to everyone.

We’ve been there twice and have had very good meals, ordered the fish both times and the gnocchi appetizer once. The gnocchi was not like any gnocchi I’ve ever seen anywhere else, much more like polenta, but once we tasted it we didn’t care! it was wonderful. All in all, a good experience and we plan on going back.

We have now been to Marzano’s five times including opening night. This restaurant is a winner. The only thing that keeps us from 5 stars is that it can be tad noisy, especially in the bar. But don’t let that stop you because the food here is very good. At the risk of mentioning every dish we’ve had, we’ll say that recently the Osso Buco(over mushroom risotto) and Sunday Gravy were lovely. And Josh, our waiter(ask for him. He is terrific.) even knew about a small spoon to get at the lovely marrow in the bones(isn’t that why you order Osso Buco?). We started with the Calamari, lightly breaded and fried and served with cocktail and dill sauces. Intermixed with the calamari are slices of hot pepper. Delicious! We also had the fried oysters served with a Gorgonzola cheese dip. We initially resisted the dip to savor the oysters but then tried the dip and decided that the chef knew what he was doing. In previous visits we have tried the pot roast, the veal parm and a special or two. We have never had a dish we didn’t thoroughly enjoy. A small menu of specialty drinks, a reasonably priced wine list and a full bar will satisfy any and all comers. They are working on expanding the«wine by the glass» offerings which are now a bit thin but adequate(try the Montepulciano). We are not dessert eaters so you will have to try for yourselves. In all, we have had lovely, well prepared food and terrific service each and every time we’ve gone. We think the prices are reasonable for what you get. Bring your friends. This is a very nice evening out.

I went there with my brother, 2 sisters, sister in law, and niece, for dinner. We had had an emotional family day regarding the recent ascension of a local saint, and were looking forward to a nice meal. Upon entering, the place looked neat, clean, and tastefully decorated. We had a large booth in a quiet area — exactly what we wanted. When our server Jason appeared, we knew we were in good hands. I think every one us have worked in a restaurant at one time or another, so we are very critical. Jason had a very friendly, low keyed, but professional demeanor. He spent time explaining in detail all the specials and clearly knew what he was talking about. A fantastic opening. For me, the people working in a place are almost as important as the food, and Jason is about as good as you will find. Fresh bread with dipping oil was a nice start. We shared the fried oysters and bruschetta appetizers — they were both superb. The oysters were a major hit — nice dipping sauce too. Should have doubled the orders of each. Several people had salads and were very happy with them. One of my sisters had the pot roast and was totally wowed by it. We each had various pasta dishes and everyone enjoyed theirs immensely. The prices are slightly above average — what you expect for good Italian food. I was hoping for a pesto pasta dish, my favorite, but there was none on the menu. We shared a couple of desserts — a lemon cake and a chocolate cake with whipped something-sweet on top — and both were addictive. I was told this restaurant has only been open a month or so, so I wish them the best of luck. We had the comforting experience we were hoping for, and Jason took it to a higher level. It made for a soothing ending to a traumatic day.

We came in on the second day of yet another Italian incarnation of this location. I’m partly disappointed, feeling the Monadnock Region does not really need one more Italian eatery but, hey, what the heck… It’s an excuse to post something on Unilocal. Went with my hubby and a friend. On looking at the menu I found just one vegetarian entrée. Of course, this not being a place that caters to the picky I can’t blame them but being one of the picky it’s hard to find places where I can eat more than the one item and it does get frustrating. The bread they served was pretty good and the best part is that it was served with olive oil infused with roasted garlic. This was probably my favorite part of the meal. There was nothing in the appetizers for me so I ordered a house salad which was very fresh yet a bit underwhelming yet overpriced. My husband also ordered the house salad and then the Haddock. He did not seem overly impressed but said it was good and did eat it all. Friend ordered the fried calamari which looked beautiful(but what do I know since I don’t eat that stuff) and the shrimp rabe which was served with, I want to say linguine. He really, really enjoyed it and said the pasta was cooked to perfection. I ordered wild mushroom ravioli with which you have a choice of brown butter or marinara. Chose the marinara. Was happy to find that there seemed to be no cheese in the pasta and it was, indeed, cooked al dente which I did appreciate but while you could clearly see the wild mushrooms in there I felt there was not a lot of flavor. In fairness to them I ate it all and have no true complaints other than it just did not rock my boat. We finished up the meal with the friend and I having coffee which they brewed fresh and was really good and my husband had espresso which he rated«okay» and a lemon cake he really liked. Our waitress was friendly and attentive as was the hostess. The décor seems to be pretty much the same as it has been for years with one notable difference being the(to me) new Windsor chairs but then I was told they were there when it was the Old Theater Tavern(or whatever the name was. Hard to keep track). I would go back if someone else wanted to go but I don’t think I would go for my own enjoyment. That said, if you are a lover of Italian food and you like meat I would advice you to definitely give it a try. Hey, maybe I’ll check out their bar next time I’m in P’boro. I do wish them the best of luck in this tough location and will keep my fingers crossed for more(vegan please) menu selections.
