Our party of four ordered ribs, baked chicken and bbq… we were not disappointed. The string beans were very flavorful and obviously well seasoned certainly not dumped from a can unaltered. The cabbage was tender, although a little bland. The crinkle fries were a hit and the bbq was a cross between what seemed like Carolina style and Kansas City but we couldn’t quite nail it down. The place was clean and kitschy with quotes painted on the wall and a mix match of décor. The service was very«in your mama’s kitchen» style aka«nobody was in a hurry» which I personally love. I’ve always been of the mind that I would rather take my time than have you hovering over me and pushing me out the door! I would definitely return here and often if I lived in Petersburg. It worth a stop in if you are in the area and if you aren’t, do yourself a favor and take a drive. The blues brothers are sitting out front waiting for you!

I went to Virginia to visit a friend. She suggest we go for some lunch when she told me the name I was like What? Is that really the name? When she replied yes they have good soul food I knew she wouldn’t stir me wrong. So I gave it a try and I’m glad I did the food was so delicious. I had the fried fish, yams and cabbage and a piece if cornbread. I’m back home in New York and I’m still thinking about it. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Whenever I go back to visit I will have lunch or dinner. THAT’S A MUST

This is a great meat and three find. I had the fried fish and it was great. The collard greens, though, are some of the best I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot of collard greens. Cheap, too!

I was in Petersburg visiting a client and she suggested I stop by. I was a amused by the name Rinkeydink but it not deter me from stopping by as I am from Georgia and know that some of the deeps south hidden food treasures are found in small town cafes. Let me say first that the food was Someeee Gooddddddddddd(southern slang) and true soul food. I ordered the Fish Dinner with side orders of cabbage and mac& cheese. Generous portion and the staff was friendly and offered service with a smile, I will most definitely be back… Awesome!

I was in town just for one day and this place sounded like it was worth a try. I ordered the fish dinner with greens and yams and took it to go. All the reviews I read were spot on! This little hole in the wall puts out some seriously delicious food. The catfish was breaded in a light flavorful coating and cooked perfectly. I LOVEDTHISFISH! Generous portions of sweet yams and perfectly cooked collard greens rounded out my meal. I got about 3 miles away and decided to go right back and order another sandwich and more yams…(Hey I hadn’t eaten all day and my little chihuahua was helping me with the fish) I will come here again when I return to Petersburg, and will refer anyone else that is coming this way! Friendly people and really cool photos up and down the hall, make sure you check out the history in this place before you take your food and run!

I’m not sure how he came up with the name Rinky Dink, but this is one of my destination spots whenever I’m in town. Went yesterday and ordered the lunch special; whiting fish and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned just right, it hit the spot. there’s only one drawback, if you’re going they only take cash. When you pull up in the parking lot say hello to the Blues Brothers sitting on the porch.

Yesterday afternoon as I was traveling the big city of Petersburg, a friend from the area suggested that we go to the Rinkeydink Café. When I heard the name of the restaurant, I looked at my friend with a puzzled expression. The first thing that popped into my mind was«Who in their right mind would want to go to a café that is rinkey dink?». The second thought that crossed my mind was«how did this place really get its name». Sure enough when we got to the establishment, it was located near a slew of check cashing and title loan places and the parking lot was not very confusing due to the fades and uneven lines. Yet, the soulful smell of college greens and fried chicken that filled the air from outside the restaurant drew me in. How did my experience go? Read below to find out. The Good: Hospitality– Once arriving inside the restaurant, my party was greeted by a server. She was friendly and knowledgable of the menu. First Half Service– The first half service was great. Our orders were taken, the food came out in less than 12 minutes and everything was hot. I was hungry to the speedy service was a huge plus. Price/Value– I ordered the two piece Fried Fish that came with corn bread and two sides. I ordered Mac n Cheese and String Beans for my two sides. The meal cost $ 8 not including tax. Unlike Mama J’s and Croakers Spot, this is not a restaurant that has items a la carte. Not only is the price of the dish very reasonable, the portion size is very generous. Some restaurants that serve fish dishes tend to short change customers by cutting a half of fish into two portions and selling it for a high price. This restaurant serves the whole fish. When comparing the meal to the same it
