Pretty typical country cooking place, the interior is non descript and a bit worn but the staff is nice and their buffet is a pretty good deal but not that big or diverse: when I was there they had chicken and dumplings plus hamburger steak, carrots, Harvard beets, mashed potatoes, green beans and a small salad bar. Also, they had a carrot cake sheet cake for dessert on the buffet. The chicken and dumplings was pretty poor, the carrot cake was very good; the rest of the buffet was alright but not exceptional in any regard. This restaurant is OK, but I can’t rate it any higher than three stars honestly.

I am so thankful for the folks at Hometown Restaurant in Peterstown for their incredible hospitality while I was in Monroe County. The staff at Hometown hosted my staff and me for a town hall meeting over lunch with local residents. It was a wonderful location for a town meeting, and I was very pleased to hear the concerns and ideas of Peterstown residents while also enjoying a home-cooked meal. I look forward to visiting this local spot again when I am back in Monroe County.
