So delicious. The only bad thing to say about this place is that it would be nice if there was one more server sometimes because both of the times that we went to eat here it took a long time to get drink refills. When eating HOT wings that’s not a good thing. But I will go back. I wish I thought to go here more! 4 stars only because of the need for one more server.

My experience was much different than the other posts, I ordered to go and once home found that I was over charged and served the wrong wings(mild not hot). The slaw was not fresh either. I wont visit there again.

Thursday nights are $.50 wings and $ 1.50 domestic beers… Friendly waitstaff and friendly customers make this a fun place to prepare for a Friday. The homemade desserts are no joke either!

Ted’s Famous Kickin’ Chicken in Pfafftown is one of several locations of this local business. You can also visit them in Winston Salem, Mooresville, and North Wilkesboro. Ted’s is a casual restaurant with booths, a few tables, and seating at the counter. The staff quickly brought out more chairs to fit around as it filled up on a Saturday night. They’re open Wednesday — Saturday from 11am — 10pm. The service was friendly, and we were able to chat with our waitress until other customers arrived. The night was a busy one; couples and families were enjoying the weekend. Our waitress checked on us several times, and we flagged her down when we needed something extra. Aunt Kim started with an order of cheese sticks. Thankfully she ordered the Chicken Livers because we all wanted some of them. She generously shared this old-time Southern treat. We’ll be sure to ask for a side of sauce next time for dipping these delectable little morsels. This simply prepared down-home country food was one of my favorites. Uncle Scott and I both had the Hot Wings. Fried until the skin was crispy and the meat was pull-off the bone tender, they were tossed in a Texas Pete style vinegar based sauce. The thinner sauce coated the wings lightly and pooled in the basket leaving it your choice to roll the mouthwatering hot wings in the sauce for additional heat. The Hot had a good balance of pepper and vinegar that complemented the chicken. Jerry and I shared an order of Suicide Wings with Blue Cheese dressing. More spices, more heat! I had Angelina Jolie lips after the hot pepper burn. Our Valentine’s Day was beginning to sizzle. Ted’s Famous Chopped Chicken Sandwich came with our choice of white or barbecue slaw. A mountain of chicken was piled high on a bun and capped with crunchy, fresh barbecue slaw. This sandwich would go great with their homemade chips or the yummy French fries I saw being delivered to the table next to ours. Ted’s Chicken can be ordered as an Upper(breast & wing), Lower(leg & thigh), or Half. As with any freshly prepared fried chicken, be patient while it cooks. You will be rewarded with an enticing feast. We shared an Upper. Fried until the skin was crisp and then dipped in Ted’s Signature Sauce, the white meat was juicy and moist. Plenty of extra sauce came with the chicken, and we used the dinner rolls to sop it up. This neat little locale has reasonable prices and some of the best chicken in Forsyth County. There are outside tables where you can enjoy your meal in warm weather. Other customer picks on the menu include a tenderloin sandwich, foot-long hot dogs, and the homemade cakes. Best chicken wings east of the Baschavia creek! Since smoking was banned it’s possible to go in and have a nice time. They also have some outside tables that are convenient for a summer evening. French fries are some of the best and they frequently have home made desserts! A+++

We moved out to pfafftown and drove around the area looking for restaurants we would want to try. We almost turned arou d before we got to Teds because we thought nothing would be out that way. Glad we didnt! We have dined in twice so far and gotten take out once. It was always delicious and the waitress was always very attentive and refilled our drinks promptly(trust me, you will need plenty of drink for the kickin chicken!) This is a biker destination as well so you will see several bikes out front sometimes but dont let that steer you away… they are friendly bikers and we have taken our kids with us everytime and there are no issues. It is a small place with limites seating so i suggest you go early if you go on a weekend!

This hole in the wall(if you can call someplace set between pastures and crop fields a «hole in the wall» — it isn’t like there’s a row of restaurants with this one sneaked in amongst them) offers good food, cold beer, very reasonable prices, and a friendly staff. The customers are predominately regulars and nice, and there’s plenty of parking. The restaurant offers both dine-in and takeout. The wings are good with the Hot flavor being serviceable and the Suicide flavor being memorable. Indeed, it takes quite the heat to slow me down, but 5 wings into my basket, I was starting to hurt.) The homemade chips(deep fried thin sliced potatoes) are tasty and the homemade desserts are very good. The beer selection is unremarkable but it’s cold. If you want fresh limes with your Corona, then you’re out of luck — you’ll have to settle for that little 4″ green plastic squeeze bottle instead — but that’s nitpicking. On the bright side, the staff is attentive, andso you’re never left looking at an empty bottle(or iced tea, or soft drink). The place does a brisk business in the evening, when parents are getting the kids to and from little league, soccer, or wherever, with lots of to-go orders being placed. Booths and tables get filled, too, but you can usually find a place to squeeze in, plus there’s seating at the counter. The place is dog-friendly, if you don’t mind sitting out front at the picnic tables. Bikers are welcome(indeed, Ted’s Kickin Chicken hosted a weekly(?) biker night), and I’ve not run across an unfriendly person, yet, while visiting there.

Great BBQ chicken of the old country boy model. Go only for the chicken, well maybe the fries. Do not let the appearance deceive you!
