All My Sons Moving & Storage of Austin

Frankly, I am embarrassed for having hired All My Sons without having done my due diligence. Had I read some of the reviews here first, I may have saved myself from quite a bit of frustration. Hopefully this review cautions a few people against hiring All My Sons in the future.
Let me preface my remarks by saying that my issue is not with the employees moving the furniture. From my experience, they are hardworking and honest individuals. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for those managing the company.
I hired All My Sons to move my furniture out of a one-​bedroom apartment and into a storage unit. I was quoted roughly $ 450 for a two hour job – this included labor and transportation. At this point, I informed the company that I was completely inflexible regarding my move-​out date. I had to be out of my apartment on Sunday and back to work in Dallas on Monday morning. I was assured that the movers would arrive between 12 and 4 on Sunday, and upon that assurance I placed my $ 50 deposit.
Come Sunday, I did not hear from the moving company until around 3. I was told that the crew was running late and could not arrive until approximately 6. I said that was fine but reiterated that I had to be out of my apartment that day. 6:30 rolled around, and I had yet to hear anything from the movers. Moreover, I could not reach anyone from the company because the office had closed for the day.
At 7:30, the movers finally showed up. However, they showed up only to inform me that they could not move me out because they themselves could not get ahold of the office. Apparently, the movers are not allowed to take furniture off the truck until they receive payment, and the office is needed to provide a final price. Despite my incessant pleas that they help me move anyway, the movers left without performing any work. Thus, I was left with no option other than driving back to Dallas, believing that I would be forced to breach my lease, which expired on Tuesday.
The following morning I received a very apologetic email from the branch manager, indicating that this is not how they do business and that I would be compensated for my time and travel. Luckily, my grandmother had agreed to supervise the move-​out if I could reschedule for Tuesday. So, I called the manager and requested that the move be done on Tuesday morning. He readily agreed and once again assured me that I would be given a discount to reflect their failure to move me out on Sunday.
According to my grandmother, the move on Tuesday went well – it took a little over two hours. (Once again, my dispute is not with the men actually conducting the move.) However, at the end of the move, the office provided a final price of $ 863. This was clearly unreasonable, and upon calling the office I found out that it included over $ 300 for «packing materials,» which were not used or required – everything was completely packed before the movers arrived. After some negotiation, the office agreed to a final price of $ 477. Though this was more than the original quote and did not reflect much of a discount, I accepted simply to be done with the whole tiresome process.
Unfortunately, the problems did not stop there. I checked my bank statement two days later to find a charge from All My Sons for $ 813. I immediately called the office, and my point of contact said that he was not able to remedy any billing issues. Instead, he forwarded me to another person who failed to answer his phone or return my calls. Now, I am seriously contemplating whether I should go through the trouble of suing All My Sons for breach of contract and deceptive trade practices. Hopefully they will do the right thing and refund the difference between the excessive charge and the price represented to me.
I implore you to avoid hiring this company. At best, All My Sons is managed by grossly incompetent personnel. At worst, it is run by intentionally dishonest and unethical individuals. Not only are their prices not reflective of the service you receive, but they may also reflect services that were not provided.

My elderly parents and I hired this company to come move them and were completely mislead and taken advantage of. First of all the movers were suppose to be there at 8:30 am and didn’t make it until 4:15pm that afternoon and didn’t have the courtesy to even call and communicate it to them. They literally had to keep calling the main office and finally 4 hrs later they got someone on the phone who made up some BS excuse about why they were delayed. Sadly, that’s not the worst of it… they also quoted them an hourly rate of $ 129 per hour for two hours and said that there would be a one hour trip charge for travel time to and from. As the date got closer my father called to confirm and they all of sudden decided that the rate was going up to $ 149 per hour and that the «total» would be $ 447.00. Reluctantly, my father agreed since he was already this far in and the date had just about arrived. After the movers finally showed up 7 hrs and 45 mins late they loaded the heavy items that we wanted moved and it took them right at 2hrs and 10mins (20 mins of that was the driver maneuvering the truck in the parking lot because he’d pulled into an area where there were a lot of tree limbs rather than the area where there was none). The movers where nice and worked hard and when they were done handed my father the bill. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there at that exact moment because had I been I would have had plenty to say about their fraudulent business practices. The lead mover handed my father an invoice for $ 630.00 and that was after the main office said they were going to lower the hourly rate to $ 135 because they were so late. What they lied about was all the hidden fees that they don’t mention until its over. For example… almost $ 80 for tape, fuel charges on top of the trip charge which they also increased to an additional 1 ½ hours even though they’d already quoted one hour. When my father stated to the driver that he was never quoted any of these additional charges the guy chuckled and said «yeah, they do that to everyone». What kind of company scams elderly people out of their money??? Take notice that all of the reviews on this company are either 1 star or 5 stars. The 1 stars true customer experience and the 5 stars are fake.

Nicely done! Omari was extraordinary in the up front arrangements. Nathaniel and Michael were hard workers and got the move done. I was impressed so I bought 4 burgers for them each — they deserved 2 the-​works burgers and ice tea as thanks to eat en route plus a nice cash tip for each at the end of the day. Todd runs an excellent office in Pflugerville. God bless you all.

Overview: Received an estimate of 5 hours to pack, load, move, and unload home. They ended up charging 15.5 hours and did a poor job.
Issue 1: They claim the 5 hours estimate included no packing at all. We were told on the phone «pack what you want, we will pack the rest». The business disputes this and insists they never intended to pack anything. This could be a communication issue but that still leaves the other issues.
Issue 2: We notified the movers when they arrived that we wanted everything packed. At the time we were only told «we need more boxes». It turns out they wanted it to be a 2 day move, but did not tell us until 7 PM the first night. At 3:30 PM, close to the original estimate, we were told «it’ll be about 2 – 3 more hours». 3 hours later they had not started the garage, so we told them to leave it.
This left no where to sleep for my 6 month pregnant wife and 3 year old son. In their defense, they did give me 100 off for hotel the following day.
Issue 3: They did not pack and load everything in the house. They left enough items (pieces of beds, some shelves, and other items) to take 4 car loads. They also left their trash. This is not counting the items in the garage that we told them to leave.
Issue 4: The crux of the matter. We had a 5 hour estimate for the entire move, and that included a 1 hour travel time. It took them 4 hours to just unload. Even if I give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they misunderstood that we wanted them to pack, 4 hours unloading + 1 hour travel time means they expected instantaneous load time. They appear to have no intention of honoring the estimate. The estimate we used to select them over their competitors. I know it is an estimate and not an exact amount, but waiting until most everything (everything that they did not leave behind) is loaded on the truck to let me know the estimate is way off is a shady business practice at best.
Issue 5: And to my surprise, after being quoted a 4 our unload time, they unloaded in almost exactly 4 hours. There was a distinct lack of «hustle» and one of the two movers would disappear for long periods of time.

HORRIBLE! Made an appointment for 9:00am arrival moving a one bedroom apartment to another unit in the SAME COMPLEX. When the drivers didn’t show up at 9:15, I called to get an ETA with no response… number went straight to voicemail. After calling for another hour or so leaving multiple voicemails, they finally show up around 10:20 with no excuse. What should’ve taken 1.5h (2 hours tops), took 4 hours and we were charged over $ 600.00 for the tiny move. The movers weren’t friendly and seemed to be in no rush. Terrible communication and customer service. Take your business elsewhere.

This had to be my absolute worst experience with a mover I have ever had. I was moving a one bedroom apartment from San Antonio to Austin. They were to arrive at 10:30 a.m. I received a call at that time saying the driver didn’t show up but they had a Plan B. A team was finishing a job in South Austin and would arrive at 12:30. I receive a call at 12:30 saying the team was just finishing job and would be there in an hour. At 2:30 they finally show up — 4 hours late. Ridiculous! And no offer for a discount or a reduction in charges at all for all the inconvenience! The guys that showed up, however, were absolutely awesome! I will never recommend All My Sons to any of my friends…ever!!!

Customer service is good, guy who ‘booked my move’ was super nice they have a catchy hold ringtone and all that jazz.
All I had to move was a bed, a table, and 3 large boxes.
The man on the phone told me it was 119.
Last time I moved it was $ 150, (a year prior different company on craigslist) OK sweet deal save 31 bucks.
All he said was 119, he didn’t even say dollars, I’m frugal as hell with my money, I don’t have a lot of money, I understand money… He told me one-​nineteen. Okay book it here’s my card pay 50 $ deposit I figure that’s about half that should be right awesome IM SET LETS GO!
The next day I check my email, $ 500+ was in the quote. Oh hell no, call the office they told me they quoted me at 4 hours its 119 PER HOUR.
OH MY GOD what??? Give them a call, guy on phone is EXTREMELY defensive and is basically calling me a liar through so many words. Dude just cancel the move, give me my 50 bucks back and I’m on my way.
Ok ok repeating myself arguing no sir I DO NOT HAVE 500 $ YOU WILL NOT BE PAID WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO JUST GIVE ME BACK MY FIFTY BUCKS.
cool. Finally. Tells me straight up it will take twenty four to forty eight hours.
Cool deal, hire another moving company… The next day i move lucky me this 50 bucks IS NOT BACK IN MY ACCOUNT so I’m short to pay the new mover.
New mover threatens to take me to court,
It has been forty eight hours let me call the bastards who told me 48 hours at the most.
Now it’s 3 to 5 DAYS. HAAA ARE YOU JOKING!!! oh AND tomorrow is Friday so I’m looking at getting my cash back next WEEK he says Monday probably, ha! So even this guy is telling me THERE IS NOO WAY you weren’t told per hour that team member is great blah blah great at what sir? Sales? Yes because you’re in a business of labor, you can charge whatever the hell you want and you can pull a number out of your ass and hire 2 illegal workers to move my things only pay them ¼ of what I paid and keep the hefty fee right? Making commission I’m so sure, oh look at you big boy team member maybe 10% you’ve scored 50 dollars on me, probably made more than the movers who WOULD have touched my things.
I’ll be waiting on my refund, sitting in deep poverty, threatened to be taken to COURT because I cannot afford to pay the little 23 Y/​O who outsourced this poor Mexican man who did move my stuff, who he can’t pay because ALL MY SONS SCREWED ME.
thanks, all your sons can enjoy their lives while judge Judy hammers me into jail for not paying $ 50 that they CAN OBVIOUSLY AFFORD seeing how next to my shitty apartment there is a GIANT billboard advertising their brand.

Think twice before you book the sons from hell, KNOW IT IS AN HOURLY RATE THEY ARE GIVING YOU EVEN IF THEY DONT SAY IT.

All My Sons did a great job! Very professional, protected all my stuff very well. The follow up was also well received. I would highly recommend them for your move. They will wrap your furniture and bring extra materials to ensure everything stays protected. But keep in mind, they do have a small charge for this at the end of the move.

We needed a quick move (three weeks!) for a job relocation and needed help with the entire execution. Amy, Joshua, Pamela, and Lamont were exceptional in making the move as smooth and easy as possible.
The cost was substantially below competitor rates but was executed as if I greatly overpaid. Honestly, the service was outstanding and professional. Every request was met with enthusiasm.
We couldn’t have been happier from start to finish.

We needed movers to relocate our office from Downtown to North Austin. I was told they would have 3 guys show up between 8:30am — 9:30am. They were prompt, friendly and fast. Reasonably priced. Final cost was significantly lower than what we were quoted. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

I have only good things to say. My team of movers came to the house on time ready to work and they worked together as a team. Since they were working by the hour and I was paying by the hour, I was concerned with possible «goldbricking» but that did not ever happen.
Very efficient and I was pleased with everything they did. The move was clean and all my items were safe and sound after the move. Thanks so much ALL MY SONS.
Moving is not fun and it is exhausting, but you made it so much better for my ailing senior citizen household.

I just wanted a quote. Since I submitted my information this morning, I have received 7 calls from multiple people. Only one left a voicemail. I finally answered a call to explain that I am at work and would return their call at my convenience. She said she would note the file.
Three more calls followed.
I will not be giving this company my business.

My husband and I hired All My Sons to help us move and we had a great experience with them! They were very courteous, on time and reasonably priced based on what we needed. We would definitely hire All My Sons again for any future moves!

We didn’t have any problems. They were on time and professional. They are young guys so they laugh a lot which I didn’t mind. They wrapped everything good and nothing was damaged. It took them a little longer than expected but that was because they took more time wrapping all the furniture well. The only negative is that I wasn’t told I would be charged for all the wrapping tape they used. Over all a good experience. at the end they three young men thanked us for our business and wished us the best in our new townhome.

Well this place already has plenty of bad reviews, but I’ll add chauvinistic/​inappropriate comments into the mix. My wife told me these guys were moving a neighbor (in our apt complex) and on three occasions in the short time she had to go to the leasing office one of the movers made inappropriate sexually-​based comments to her.
So yeah — great job guys! Way to represent your company! This is definitely one company I will never ever do business with.

Ive updated my review from a 1 star due to the fact that I received a message from them apologizing for not getting back to us and that they take things seriously. It takes a lot for businesses these days to admit to their faults so I commend them on this.
I’m not sure if this place is even still open. My husband has called their phone number multiple times over the last week with no reponse. I went online to request a quote but also have not heard back from them. I guess they’re just too busy or maybe they’re in the process of going out of business. Are there any reputable movers in Austin? I’m starting to have my doubts.

all my sons moving –BEWARE when calling for a quote. I needed to move a 600 pound safe 12 miles. I was quoted $ 159 per hour and they felt it would only take 3 men to move the safe in order to get it done in one hour. The safe was delivered in one hour and the cost was $ 507.26
1. $ 159 an hour 2 hour minimum (this was never mentioned in the initial quote)
2. $ 159 an hour in travel time– additional charge (which was never mentioned)
3. $ 30 to put a blanket around the safe and tape it (never Mentioned)
I bought the safe for $ 400, why would I agree to move it for $ 507 and I had my baby grand piano moved the previous day by professional piano movers for $ 200. I called All my sons and their replies concerning the additional charges «That is our Policy we have always followed on charges»
#1– MAKE SURE TO USE ANOTHER MOVER OR IF YOU CHOOSE THIS COMPANY MAKE SURE TO VERIFY ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES THAT ARE liSTED ABOVE IN WRITING BEFORE YOU EVER HIRE THEM.

These people overcharged a 95 year old lady to move, broke stuff, did not even finish the move. They left boxes, things unpacked and a mess at her old place. We chose them because of how easily we could schedule a move (they were pretty much on call), but this was terrible. I would avoid them at any cost. There was a box that was almost all tissue paper… 2 cups.

After reading so many bad reviews, I was a little nervous about using AMS for our move, but their price was good, and I got positive referrals from others in Austin.
I was very pleased with the entire experience. Booking the service was fast and easy, and I was given excellent information about the service and pricing ahead of time.
Communication was excellent before, during and after the move. We just needed help with the heavy lifting… furniture was disassembled and reassembled with no damage to anything, washer/​dryer disconnected and reconnected just fine. They brought furniture pads and wrapped up items that needed protecting.
Our total bill ended up being exactly what we were expecting, thanks to upfront pricing and fast service. I would use All My Sons for another move within Austin without any hesitation!
