Doc’s Pflugerville is now closed. I went there tonight and a gentleman that worked there informed that this location has closed down because they didn’t get enough business over the last 6 months in Pflugerville. Sorry! What a bummer!

Went there all by myself, knowing I’d be among my fellow longhorns. I was really happy to get there about ½ hour before kickoff and had no problem finding parking or somewhere to sit-it did get packed, but I thought it would be A LOT sooner than that. Anyway, I had the flying longhorn, which was $ 7 «on special» and the famous chicken fried avocado. The drink was good, but I think overall, all the mixed drinks are overpriced-mind you, I’m not a beer drinker, so I can’t comment-but would be curious to check out the $ 8 ‘ritas. The ‘cado was good. Not great, but good. I liked the side of jalapenos, didn’t care for the unimpressive rice and beans. Can’t see what the big deal was about this dish. Service was excellent-absolutely no complaints about that-the manager even rearranged a whole seating area at one customer’s request, which I thought was pretty cool. He could’ve said no and been a jerk, but happily obliged the guy. I ABSOLUTELY prefer this to Hanover’s and Players, which are as close to «sports bars» as it gets here in P’ville. I really hope it does well here, I will do my part by definetely going back to watch more games!

I’ve only been here once. However, I went on a nice afternoon with my family and I really enjoyed the place. We sat in the«outside» area and had a huge fan rotating close to our table. The prices are pretty good. Try the fried chicken avacado. Seriously, sin on a plate. I’d go back just for this.

I liked it the first time… and I liked it more this time. Service was better, fried pickles were amazing and its oh so convenient. Plus they’re hosting an event for us. So yeah, a bump up one star.

Stop if you’ve heard this before: business offering solid-if-never spectacular goods or services opens new location featuring… the same stuff as the other locations. Rinse. Repeat. This latest incarnation of the Doc’s formula is as staid as the other two, which isn’t to say that they’re offensive in any way… just pedestrian. A nice selection of(mostly major brew conglomerate) beers, American and some Tex-Mex food if that’s what you’re into. Food offerings were fine(I had it out for the fajitas) if modest portion-wise, and you can get a cocktail here. If you have rugrats, upside includes a beanbag washers game where they can basically hurl those beanbags as hard as they like, accuracy be damned, and never hurt a thing. I feet certain we’ll be back around one of these days, but I probably won’t be leading the way on that decision.

The Drafthouse is following the recipe from the South locations and it works. Doc’s is a great place with plenty of space for big parties and a great staff. Heather is at the bar and slings drinks with the best and the girls that serve you are just amazing. The food is prepared daily from scratch, the beer is cold, and the glasses are chilled! Take a date or book a party, Doc’s will service any need… I am very excited that P-Ville as a new addition! Thanks for bringing the flare to the north!

If I could give Doc’s 3 ½ stars, I would. But since I can’t, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and up it to 4 stars because I REALLY want Doc’s to make it! There are very few restaurants/bars near our home in P-ville anyway, and few that are worth getting 3 kids out of the house for. We went to this place when it was the Water Tank Too and liked it. We were SO excited that it changed to Doc’s as we had been to the one on S Congress. I just don’t think it has caught on yet. I don’t know why? I mean it is big and roomy. It has a PATIO which I love. I agree with the other reviews of the four layer bean dip. Yum! The waitstaff was very friendly and didn’t even flinch when we put four kids at a table by themselves. They offered to split up the bill without even being asked. They let our kids play a bean bag toss game while we sat and visited. The food was good, but not memorable. My husband had the chicken fried steak and it was very big! He said it was very good. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was decent. My sister wasn’t crazy about her salad, but I’m thinking the salad probably isn’t a big seller at a bar and grille. The kids were all happy with their food which was a larger kids menu than most places. One disappointment was the mexican martini. When I ordered it, I was expecting a «Trudy’s» drink complete with shaker and all. I thought for $ 8 it would last the entire dinner. It was one small martini glass. I thought it was way overpriced. However, we will be back to Doc’s. Like I said, I really want it to make it!

Best thing about Doc’s is the patio. Large and spacious and nice on a chill evening. The waitress was also friendly and steered us away from certain drinks(the ones with the everclear in them. Too sweet she says). When we first arrived, we were starving and while waiting on friends decided to just order an app and then get dinner when they joined us. $ 8 for guac??? Hubby asked the waitress what was in it. Well, just some guac on iceberg lettuce… Now this is one of my biggest pet peeves. Why, WHY, would I want stringy, iceberg with tasty guac? If you’re gonna screw me by giving me less avocado, don’t build it up to look bigger by slopping it on lettuce. And if you’re charging me $ 8, then give me the straight stuff, and lots of it! Rant over. We opted for the 4 layer dip which was basically queso over refrieds and topped with sour cream and, yup, guac. AND it was a buck cheaper. Go this route folks. It was basic but good. Unfortunately our lame ass friends did not show up til late and by then we weren’t hungry anymore, so didn’t sample any more food. I will say that the Cadillac Marg was tasty and tough. Don’t know if this place has a chance as it was dead on a Sat. Honestly, there wasn’t much to it but the patio and a scattering of TVs. And when you got Graham Central Station right down the road, you gotta step it up a notch. These PflugerVillians love they Grahams!

Big fan of Doc’s elsewhere in town, and this newest location is no exception. A different crowd than the other Doc’s(more low key, more family-types) but who knows how it will turn out, since it just opened. The patio is not as big as the Congress location but on the plus side its covered, and you can see the TVs from out there. Waitstaff was cute and friendly and if you sit at the bar, ask for Dominic. Four layer dip is clutch and my new favorite is the bandera chicken. If you live up north, nice place to go hang on a weeknight — they have specials Mon-thurs!

A new Doc’s just opened yesterday! It was my first time to Doc’s and it won’t be my last. We had some good top shelf margaritas there and dinner. I had the Shrimp Diablo and Matt got the Avocado stuffed chicken, they were good. Would love to have more heat on the food for sure since I am huge on spicy food. The place is spacious and comfortable, it has pool table, bar, flat screens everywhere and a cozy patio for people to catch some fresh air. It is definitely looking good in the Pflugerville neighborhood though I don’t really go there a lot.
