Friendly service every time I use them. They were able to seam up some motorcycle chaps nicely for me in a timely manner. They have also seen patches on stuff for me as well. Good work every time

I have been using Nelda’s tailors for quite some time. The ladies there have done a range of different pieces for me, from gowns, dressy clothes, costumes to slacks and casual wear. I always have a very good experience. I go visit my little ladies every time I need any tailoring done :)

I have taken several pieces to Nelda’s tailoring ranging from an evening gown to jeans. They have done a great job and for a fair price. I highly recommend them.

My first trip here was a success. The second and last time, I left with a ruined dress. Both sides that I had taken in had white marks that would not come out which ruined my dress unless I wear a cardigan to cover up this error. The upside-they didn’t try to charge me and apologized more than once. I had to call both times I took garments in to check on their status. Both estimates of when the garments would be back were late.

They did a great job hemming two pairs of jeans. They completed them earlier than expected. The staff is courteous and friendly. I would definitely recommend them.

We had a fairly straightforward job for them: Fix some khaki pants that are a part of my husband’s garanimals clothes. Yes I dress Cody in an adult male version of the old kids’ clothes matching system — polo shirt, khaki pants, socks, doc martens. We have refined this system to the point where he could close his eyes, pull something from each designated space and they will match. No need to ask me if it looks ok. It does. Sometimes he gets cheeky and grabs one of the solid tee shirts for a casual day. He’s not the flashiest dresser in the world but by god it’s a great improvement on how he dressed when I met him in 1997. He was in a disturbing country button down shirt and tight bootcut wranglers phase but I also had an unfortunate sculpture department art school girl overalls thing going on. It’s amazing we both survived. Now he exclusively wears khaki pants that are the pleated version of the Ralph Lauren Andrew Pants from the big and tall collection. We know he likes them and that they’re comfortable. They’re not that cheap, considering what he’s willing to spend on clothes. Sometimes the seam at the outside of the hip wears a little or a button comes off. I have tried to fix these myself and subsequently ruined two perfectly good pairs of pants. So we thought we’d try paying someone to fix them. The shop is in a small strip on Pflugerville’s main drag, somewhere near the high school. It looked like a normal tailor shop to me. There was a bridal fitting going on when we dropped the pants off. Now we didn’t have a deadline or any particular kind of special need — we wanted the seams sewn closed and buttons put back on securely. They did this in what we thought was a reasonable period of time. We didn’t even bother checking until a week had gone by. The seams were nicely done, the buttons were secure and all was well. The cost for all the repairs was about 1⁄10 of the cost of one pair of pants at the store so we were happy. Again, this was a fairly low maintenance job but I was perfectly happy with the outcome and the price.

I dropped off a skirt to Nelda’s tailors on April 11th and was initially told that the skirt would be finished(taken in a little and a small hem on the lining of the skirt) the following Wednesday(April 20th). I thought that this time line was very long to begin with, but i did not absolutely need the skirt so i agreed. I was simply given a ticket and told it would be ready on the following Wednesday. After waiting a week and a half for some minor alterations, i returned to Nelda’s on April 20th late in the business day. The woman(i think the owner?) asked if i had received a courtesy call telling me if my item was ready. I replied no, i hadn’t even heard of that. Apparently, there was a woman who was filling in on the day that i came in and failed to let me know that them telling me my item would be ready by a certain date was more of a goal than realistic date. Low and behold, my skirt hadn’t even been started. The woman then said that my skirt would be ready tomorrow(Thursday, the 21st) but don’t come unless she calls me. Thursday comes and goes with no call. Friday comes and i get the call that my skirt is done… almost two entire work weeks after dropping it off. I go to pick it up and the total is $ 30! I think that is VERY expensive for taking in a skirt and hemming the lining up. Even more disappointing is the owner/manager did not even address that i was in the store and failed to apologize for any inconvenience. I felt as if i was inconveniencing them for requesting my item to be completed in an orderly fashion. Bottom line, don’t bother with this business. They will take longer than they tell you and will charge too much for work; i could have gone across the street to another tailor in downtown Pflugerville for a quarter of the price. Believe me, i won’t make this mistake again.

I really wanted to like this place because they were very helpful the first time I went in. But not only did they not call me after a week of having my pants. But I had to call them and when I did they insinuated they had not started my pants at all. They said they would be ready the next day. When I went to pick up they fixed my pants a lot differently then we had first discussed. I wish they would have called me when they encountered a problem with my original request. One of the pairs wasn’t fixed correctly so they said they would fix it at no charge(I would hope so!!!). It’s been 2 weeks and they haven’t called me to pick up yet. Kind of weird and very unprofessional.

I bought a designer wedding gown at a discount price but a size 10, I thought it would be impossible to get an alteration because the dress just looks too complicated and I wanted to change up some things on it. I had one seamstress told me that she couldn’t work on my dress because of whatever, blah, blah… When I took my dress to Nelda’s Tailors to downsize it to a size 2… Wow! The dress looks AMAZING! I was so impressed with their fabulous work… I HIGHLY recommend everyone to use Nelda’s Tailors for any alteration work! They are the best! I will definitely use Nelda’s going forward!

Nelda’s did an excellent job of altering my dress in a timely manner. They were also very sweet and recommended other people who can help plan our wedding.
