This is not luxury living. Don’t let the fancy pictures of the office and pool fool you! I will say the office staff is extremely nice which makes this post hard to write but I feel some things need to be said. First of all we weren’t allowed to view a three bedroom apartment which isn’t that big of a deal if we would have been told the truth about sizes of rooms, living areas and a huge closet that was said would also be in our apartment which is not!!! We also mentioned that we have a handicap child who is in a wheelchair so we couldn’t take an upstairs but needed to be on the inside of the complex near the parking lot. We didn’t say he needed a handicap accessible apartment bc we feel those should be for adults that are handicap and doing everything for themselves. The week of moving when we went in to sign some other papers I was finally given a floor plan with dimensions and boy was I surprised at the big difference of room size compared to what we were shown. There wasn’t much that could be done then so we picked up our keys that Friday and started moving in. Moving day: To our next surprise we were given an apartment on the outside of the complex and a construction fence was taking up most of the walk way so while moving we had to walk half in the grass and half on the sidewalk. Our sons wheelchair wouldn’t even fit on the walkway with the fence. About midday of moving the sprinklers were cut on and we along with all of our things got wet. We had to keep moving things in bc we were paying movers by the hour. After the movers left we took a break so they could figure out their sprinklers. Once we got back everything was muddy and made moving less fun than it already was. The next day we ask let the office know about the fence and they did have the construction guys move it over a little for us but our son’s wheelchair still wouldn’t fit down the sidewalk. While construction was taking place we constantly had trash and cigarette butts all over the place that we were picking up so our dogs and kids wouldn’t mess with any of them. So happy all of that is finished! We ended up needing a garage and we got one extremely far away from our unit but were put on a waiting list for one closer. Then we were assigned one that was closer but when I went to pick up the keys they had given it to another resident. The manager did assign us the garage that is attached to our building on the interior of the complex which was very nice. We are grateful for at least the garage bc it helps so much always having a spot when unloading a child in a wheelchair, a three month old, a three year old and 5 year old. We really do appreciate the office staff and know most of these things aren’t their doings. All the amenities we were told that would be here shortly after we moved in are no where to be seen like the dog spa, the pet waste stations and bike rentals. They did add one more pet waste station at the bark park that is made of AstroTurf and animal waste sits on swelters in our hot Texas sun. Regular grass would have been just fine! I hate even stepping on the turf and never let my kids go out there because people do not pick up after their pets. Thin walls: If you like hearing everything from the people above you including when the residents are using the restroom, letting their front door slam shut knocking pictures off of your wall and sounding like a heard of nocturnal elephants that play a mad game of bowling every dang night followed by yelling matches at your front door then this is the place for you! The add ins of loud music, speeding residents in the parking lot and even the occasional drunk neighbor who prefers using his the restroom on his truck tire rather than in his own home make this place more like living in apartment filled of college kids not families and working adults who are respectful of their neighbors. Thankfully this is only short term for us because we are counting down the days I mean MONTHS until we move.
