My daughter and I went to this place for lunch on a Saturday, the waitress brought us the bread, got our drinks, then took our order. The pizza bread appetizer was ok, its like a calzone. My daughter ordered ravioli and i got the jalapeño tilapia. When our entrees were served, her plate was so hot, obviously right out of the microwave. My jalapeño Tilapia had very little flavor. I ordered a glass of Moscato to enjoy with my meal, when the server brought me the glass it was short on wine, just barely half full. I told her it was a small glass and she giggled, I wasn’t kidding. I won’t be back.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The waitress was very nice, but not very good at her job, and apparently, neither were the cooks. Our food was cold when we FINALLY got it, you could tell it had just been sitting there for a long time. The food was very bland and very dry, They claim it’s freshly made, yeah right, I’ve had frozen dinners that taste fresher. Bad service, horrible food, and very slow. We got there @ 7 and we left @ 840! Not because we were enjoying our food(I returned my plate), or because we were having a jolly good time(by this point we were all frustrated and disgruntled), but because that’s how long it took the staff to get our orders doown and give us crappy frozen food.

My sister and I are both major pasta lovers. I am obsessed with their Bowtie Festival, and she loves the spicy shrimp pasta(can’t remember the name), but it is her favorite pasta ever. I have to say I love their potato soup just as much as their pasta. It is absolutely delicious. Every waiter I’ve had there has been very friendly. Something else I love is that they always have promotions going on. I know I read some reviews stating that the prices are a bit overboard, but if you subscribe to their email and text message newsletters, you will always have some sort of awesome coupon to use. They send me «buy one entrée, get a second entrée free» coupons all the time. If you don’t have a coupon and you want to try this place, I suggest you go on a Monday, because their family platters are half off. On Mondays, we end up spending only $ 20 for a family sized portion of pasta and unlimited soup/bread. I just love this place!

Food was just ok. Service was not very good. Slow and our waiter seemed pissed off about something. Prices were a bit high for the quality of food. I will probably never choose to go there again.

For italian food this restaurant is ok. Better than olive garden if you ask me. And they have bottles half price on wednesday! yay! The food has a good taste and well. It’s not light food, but when it comes to italian food, you’ll know what you get. I like Carinos either way.

Our waiter is very friendly. The greeters at the front door were horrible. They kept skipping our party and seating people arriving even an hour after us. We were told it was a 40 minute wait. That was almost 2 hours ago. We just got seated after such a long wait. When we got to our table I told our greeter that there was spaghetti on my chair and asked her if she could please clean it. She wiped it off the chair with her hand. I’m not coming back and I’m definitely not recommending it to my family/friends.

Menu appears limited in options and on the overpriced side. Family platters are likely on the small side for Texas standards but was OK for my family. The Cesar’s salad was wonderful, the dressing has a special taste that I really liked. The sangria was also good. Service was excellent.

USED to come here all the time for many different occasions and try many menu items. I only come here now if I have a craving for Bow tie festival and their yummy bread. The menu is WAY overpriced for the crappy service we get not only from the waitstaff and waiters but the managers as well. Sorry JC. Not a fav for us anymore

Decided to try this location– Went in on a Saturday night, about 6PM. Just a small handful of cars in the parking lot. We were seated in the nearly empty restaurant at a booth with a dirty table(Parmesan crumbs, bread crumbs, etc). Asked the waitress if it could be wiped down & she mumbled a response. After waiting, we moved to another table on our own. It, too, was dirty, with a used napkin on the floor beneath the table. We gave the waitress our drink orders, including a gin & tonic. A few minutes go by, & she returns to tell us that the bar has no tonic. ??? My husband went to wash his hands, & returned to say the men’s room was filthy. That was it – we walked out, & won’t ever go back. Both the Carino’s in McAllen/Pharr are dumps.

Wonderful food and even more wonderful memories go along with this place. Even though it’s a chain, I prefer this location to the Nolana one and the happy hour is pretty awesome. ½ off appetizers and pizza and specials on the Bellinis, Sangria, and Italian Margaritas. Get the Italian Nachos and share the alfredo-y goodness. The food is all delicious and to this day, they have the best Caesar dressing I’ve ever had.

I usually hit this spot for Happy Hour. The apps/pizza are ½ price, $ 2 Beers/Wine, and $ 3 Bellinis/Margaritas. I usually share the calamari, FireSticks, and Stuffed Mushrooms. One of the best spots for food/drinks during Happy Hour.
