My girlfriend and I decided to have a couple friends over on a week night around 8 o’clock. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza for delivery. My girlfriend was the one who called. After she got off the phone with fat boys she said the total would be $ 28.00…$ 28.00?! Looking on their website it said a large pizza was roughly $ 16.00 depending on toppings. Does that mean they have a $ 12.00 delivery charge? Probably not. I have no clue how one pizza can cost almost $ 30.00. Not to mention we live two miles away and it took an hour and fifteen minutes for it to come. We are new to the neighborhood and this totally will make us look elsewhere for pizza from now on. Never again. What a joke.

I’m reviewing fatboys AGAIN to state that the service is not any better, it’s actually horrifying how bad the service is at this place. I have had so so so so many issues ordering from this place– never on time, several times with food missing from delivery orders, mis-spelling my name which resulted in my order never being made(2 hours later). Unfortunately, this is the only place to get pizza in this town– but that shouldn’t warrant them to run this business as unprofessionally as they have been. Nonetheless– we have never been offered an apology or discount for any of our many troubling experiences. Just all around avoid this place if you can.

We stopped on our way through without checking the reviews and I was a bit nervous reading them while we waited for our meal, but we were both pleased. I got the cheese steak wrap, which was full of meat and quite tasty and my wife got the chef salad, which was huge, and enjoyed it. Service seemed a bit slow, but the food was good!

I am a regular patron of this place, and do recommend them if you, like me, prefer independently owned restaurants over chain franchises and«New York style» pizza is your thing. Their mushrooms taste fresh, not the canned type, and the garlic knots are just the right kind of soft. Although I’ve had a(few) negative experience(s) regarding customer service and the increase in pricing, I’m updating a negative review because the owner took initiative to apologize for the negative experience and offered a solution to rectify the situation. In my honest opinion, that personal response is exactly why I prefer independently owned businesses. Sometimes you have a bad experience, but when a business apologizes and tries to make it right then they are worth a second chance.

I am a member of Restaurant.com’s Review Crew(I’m a blogger) and I printed out a $ 10 gift certificate for Fat Boy’s Pizza. This certificate is good for any purchase of $ 15 or more. So a $ 15 order would only cost $ 5 with this certificate! On Fat Boy’s website, they had a «mid-week special» of a large 1-topping pizza and 1 order of wings for just $ 18.99. So, $ 18.99 minus my $ 10 gift certificate should be just $ 8.99. BUT, when I called in the order for their special, and told the girl on the phone that I had a $ 10 gift certificate. She told me I could NOT use this on a special, because I can’t combine a coupon with their special. I told her this was NOT a coupon, this was a gift certificate. She again said that I could not use it with the special. I could tell I was not going to get anywhere with her, so I told her to just charge me for the pizza & wings at full price, and I’ll use my gift certificate on that. She informed me my total would be $ 16.60, AFTER my gift certificate. I should have just gone with my instinct and cancelled the order and saved my certificate for our next trip to the city. But, we were hungry. And, we had never tried Fat Boy’s Pizza before, and were hopeful it would be a new place for us to eat. When we got home from picking up the pizza, the pizza looked good. I was paper thin though. I actually like thin crust pizzas, but this wasn’t a good thin crust. The crust on this pizza was thin, but hard as a brick. The crust was actually very hard to chew. My boyfriend tapped the bottom of his slice of pizza with his fork and it actually made a loud«tap, tap» sound. The pizza crust was like eating rawhide. Or, at least what I imagine rawhide tasting like, since I’ve never actually tried it myself, lol. Seriously, this pizza was horrible. It was so bad, I could not eat more than one piece. I forced down one piece and that was all I could take. Chris thought it was horrible, too. I’m so glad we got wings, because I was still really hungry. The wings looked good, so I was at least a little hopeful. What I was not prepared for was the excess amount of sauce they were DROWNING in. I was actually trying to «wring them out» of all the sauce that was on them. Scraping and wiping the sauce off too. And the sauce had a strong taste of vinegar. Their wings are way overpriced, by the way. At all the other pizzerias, I pay $ 7.49 for a dozen of wings. At Fat Boy’s, The highlight of the meal was my 4 pieces of celery to help remove the unpleasant taste of the pizza and wings from Fat Boy’s. We will NEVER go back. I honestly don’t know why anyone would go back a second time.
