TERRIBLE customer service!!! Will never go back!
I went in for a retreatment of a root canal. Dr. Lin did a great job and I am greatly appreciative of his work, however the office manager or whoever is at the front desk has treated me the worst I have ever been treated in dealing with any medical facility.
First of all, she gets my insurance info, checks with them and guarantees me that my insurance is paying for 80% of the costs. I called back a couple of days before the appointment to double check and she says everything was double checked and is ready. After the treatment she called me and said the insurance refused me case and now I have to pay them $ 1500 at once! When I confronted her with her previous reassurances about double checking everything and asked to talk to the office manager, she hung up on me! A couple of days later sent me a letter with my electronic signature pasted at the bottom stating they don’t take any responsibility for rejected claims! I was never informed of the document and all she did when I visited was asking me to sign an electronic pad multiple times!
Because of the way I was treated at this office, I will NEVER EVER go back again and so far have made two of my friends to change their dental office as well!
If you are thinking of getting anything done at this facility remember, most of the times everything goes well and the front desk lady is friendly but if there is a complication in your case, they deal with you like debt collector companies, they don’t deal with you as a patient, but as a source of revenue!

I went to TEC Endo for a re-​treatment of an old root canal that had developed an infection and therefore, an abscess due to a canal not being cleaned out (Note the original root canal had not been done by TEC). Following treatment, I had extreme swelling due to the infection and was in unbelievable pain before my antibiotics kicked in. From the front desk staff who answered my near daily calls and questions to Dr. Lin who was empathetic, kind and answered my questions in non-«doctor speak», I could not imagine more top notch service. They fit me in for 3 follow up appointments that week following my treatment to ensure my swelling was going down — and away — and that I was on the quick road to recovery. Hopefully I never find myself in a situation where I need a re-​treatment of a root canal again, but if I do, I know who to call.

First Root Canal, had heard horror stories from multiple friends who had been through this procedure.
No horror story here! Nearly painless, fast efficient, kind, accessible!
Dr. Lin is kind, gentle, great at injections, fabulous, Husband had same experience with Dr. Troppe!
100% per cent recommendation, no pain during or after procedure. Now nearly 24 hours out and pain free! Drinking coffee and cold drinks again, yippee!

I had to visit this wonderful office because an old root canal became infected and suddenly caused my entire left jaw to swell. I was in excruciating pain when I awoke the next morning so I called this place after reading about it here on Unilocal.The receptionist was really nice and so accommodating as they were able to fit me in for an emergency appointment over lunch that day. When I came in the staff were so courteous and very sensitive to the fact that my left jaw was so tender because of the infection.
I came back the following week to get the first part of my treatment. I was really nervous because I generally associate the dentist with pain. He gave me the numbing medicine and it was the least painful injection I’d EVER had. He was very slow and gentle and talked me through it all. However, I had worked myself up so much that I started to feel lightheaded. He was very attentive and gave me some time to regain my color. When he came back he was really sweet and shared that he had just given a presentation on understanding the anxiety that patients and made me feel even more comfortable.
I felt no pain during or after my procedure. I went for a check up just the other day and I’m still healing and I’m very confident that I will continue to heal. If you need an endodontist, please go here and see any of the doctors — you will not be sorry.

Wish that every dental/​medical facility was as courteous, competent and clean as they are.
Dr. Lin worked on two of my teeth so far and I have to go back for more treatment. I was a really difficult case since my fillings were done long time ago. The doctor split up my treatment in two or three sessions for each tooth. He’s very patient and explains the procedures, the type of treatment and what am I supposed to expect when I get off the chair. He also explained the X-​ray exposure — I got a lot of those done for him to see the progress. Most of the offices do not speak about that unless the female patient is pregnant.
Another huge plus of this office is their staff. They are very respectful and know what they are doing. Mary at the front desk makes sure that you go at the appointment on time — you may not want to be late, otherwise would get a charge of $ 150. They follow up with their patients via email, which directs you to the portal. There is all of your medical history.
Highly recommend — you should check with your dentist to see if they are within your health insurance’s network. It can get pricey, if not.

Dr. Lin and assistant Rachel were absolutely terrific.
The entire process from online submission of paperwork to the procedure itself went as smoothly as one could ever hope for.
Dr. Lin’s chair-​side manner was terrific. Quite communicative about the entire procedure, and throughout the procedure as well. His technique, along with Rachel who assisted was quite gentile and pain free.
Arrived 5 minutes early, did the paperowork, sat down in the chair, and 60 minutes later my root canal on # 31 was complete, with a follow-​up scheduled in a year.
I could not be happier.

I usually don’t ‘like’ the dentist, but this place was an exception. I was referred here by my dentist for a root canal I needed, and needless to say I was extremely anxious about it. The hygienist was very friendly and helpful, and made sure I was comfortable during painful xrays. Dr. James Hupp performed the root canal and he walked me through the entire procedure. His work was excellent throughout the whole root canal — I usually hate being numbed because of the needle, but he does it very slowly so that you barely feel any discomfort. Never thought I would ‘enjoy’ a numbing experience, but I am pretty sure this is as good as it gets without getting knocked out. The procedure was also painless and pretty comfortable. He was meticulous and they kept asking how I was doing throughout, to which I always gave an adamant thumbs up. Was a bit sore once the numbing wore off but that’s to be expected.
The front desk staff were also friendly and helpful. Hope I don’t need any more root canals, but if I do I will come back here.
**Everyone reviewing on here talks about Dr. Shah but Dr. Hupp was amazing as well.

An old root canal from ten years ago got compromised and I needed to have it re-​done. I was extremely nervous as I really didn’t enjoy the process the first time and those memories kept haunting me.
The first time I went in for the evaluation I found the staff über professional but also nice. The office is so comforting surprisingly. I was seen by Dr. Jakub Pelka who was everything I could ask for in a dentist. He listened and explained everything that was going to happen when I came back in. I felt very sure about my decision to come here after that evaluation.
I went back in for an early morning appointment at 8:30 and was greeted by Thomasina, the assistant who was just great… she kept me smiling and distracted from the nerves. Dr. Pelka performed the procedure and let me tell you, it went so smoothly I actually dozed off for a bit LOL. I was done in about 1.5 hours and out of there with some soreness from keeping my mouth open that long but otherwise nothing. I will be going back in about two week to finish up the procedure but I really wish these folks could be by regular dentists as I felt so at ease there. Five stars!

No one enjoys root canals but TEC Endodontics is the best if you need one. Last week I noticed some pain in a tooth that I had a previous root canal done on 10 years ago. I made an appt with TEC for the next day at 3:00 pm. The tooth pain progressed to agony by midnight so I was on the phone in the morning with TEC. I went to the office first thing in the morning and they squeezed me in about 10 minutes after I arrived! Dr. Shah skillfully took me through the procedure and soon I was feeling better. Great job and these guys are the best.

Fantastic experience, especially for a root canal. Dr. Shah is very patient and takes her time to explain everything. I was terrified and she made it a smooth experience. I was in a lot of pain when I first went in and felt completely better the day after she fixed my tooth. Highly recommend her. Everyone in the office is great too.

This was my first ever root canal and I was terrified. I’d heard horror stories my entire life.
And then I visited Dr. Shah at TEC Endodontics and now realize all of my worries were completely unnecessary. The procedure was completely painless and extremely comfortable. As Jennifer says below in her review, I almost fell asleep it was so easy.
Dr. Shah was professional, gentle, calming and clear about what she was doing. She spoke quietly to her assistant throughout in a manner so soothingly calm that I felt at ease, I’d never have known if anything was even stressing her about the procedure.
I was in the chair and back out the front door in 1.5 hours, the procedure went perfectly and I felt completely comfortable the entire time. It’s the next day now and I am pain-​free except for a little soreness from holding my mouth open, my tooth feels amazing, which is to say it doesn’t feel anything at all, and it’s only very very slightly sensitive to pressure, which I’m told will go away in 2 – 3 days.
The rest of the staff at the office, including Dr. Shah’s assistant and the front desk staff, were all incredibly pleasant and nice to deal with.
Of course I hope you never need oral surgery, but if you do, I highly recomment you go see Dr. Shah.

The concept of enjoying a root canal makes no sense, but I kinda did at TEC.
I knew I needed a root canal for about a year, but I kept putting it off for financial reasons and the procedure’s bad reputation.
I saw Dr Shah, and to say she was excellent is almost an understatement. She was connected to the job at hand and very gentle. At one point I even fell asleep.
The communication between the doc and her assistant was cryptic to me but they had serious synergy. They let me know what to expect up front and gave me updates throughout the procedure.
I’m not sure if stressing about it so much wore me out or if they’re just that good, but I certainly wouldn’t worry about putting my dental health in TEC’s hands again in the future.

If you never have to hear the words ‘Root Canal” you are a very blessed individual. My first visit to Dr. Lambert was in 08′ in which I had to have a broken tooth saved I know TMI but hey we talking about teeth here… :)
Dr. Turner directed me to Dr. Lambert @ TEC Endodontics I thought I would never have to see him again but now I need another Root Canal done on the 19^th.
I am not worried because Dr. Lambert is the best.
TEC Endodontics has the best staff and they are very on top of their patient health and records. When you schedule your appointment they send you a email containing a username & password which the link to input all your personal & medical information in their online database to save time when you come in for your actual appointment.
This is the best because when you come in for your appointment you go straight to the back beside the long annoying waits in the lobby!!!
Their office is spotless!
It almost makes you feel like you not in the office to get a hole drilled into your tooth. Dr. Lambert makes you comfortable and the procedure is pain-​free. Surprisingly after the visit I had no pain which was shocking despite like I said what’s being done.
Root Canals are very expensive if you have or do not have insurance so why not pick the best and choose Dr. Lambert or TEC Endodontics.
Also Dr. Lambert was voted Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Dentists in 2010!!!

Dr. Lambert is the best medical authority I have ever visited. I hate dentists. Despise them. Still do actually, but Dr. Lambert is cool. Before I met him I even started crying, but he spoke very calmly and seemed genuinely concerned. In fact, that first appointment I had with him wasn’t even scheduled. I walked in around 4pm and he stayed late just to see me.
Anyway, throughout out appointments (three of them), he really went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and pain-​free. He even asked me what radio station I wanted to listen to, and stopped everything when I asked a gazillion questions about all the procedures that had to be done.
As much as I like Dr. Lambert, I hope I never have to see him again!!! In the office, I mean. ^_~

«ROOT CANAL» are two words I hope you, my dear Unilocal friends, never have to hear. I used to pride myself for having never had had one. To my teeth’s credit, they held up pretty nicely during my years-​long dental hiatus, save for number two, which had the nerve (get it!) to decay to the point of breaking, requiring the dreaded root canal.
My dental hygienist saw the look on my face at the diagnosis and assured me I’d be fine. Apparently, root canals are not as bad as they used to be. «That’s what they tell everyone,» I thought to myself.
I arrived on the big day to a nice, sparse, CLEAN office where the receptionists were watching soaps. I do not watch daytime TV, but I felt strangely comforted because they were. I don’t know. One Life to Live reminds me of my nana, and suddenly I felt at ease.
Everyone was nice and gentle, and like the dentist office preceeding, all the processes were explained in great detail with my x-​rays serving as a visual guide.
Sitting back, wearing solar shields, my mouth covered in blue latex and open wide for two hours is not my best look. But the folks here made me feel really comfortable. I could go into detail (suction! files!) but I’ll spare you and just add that should you need a root canal, hope your dentist refers you here.

5 stars for a root canal? It really was «as good as it gets». The staff is friendly, and will bring you whatever magazines you desire (I requested «something trashy» and was rewarded thusly). Tomasina (the assistant/​hygienist/​I don’t know) was awesome and made quips about the radio’s song selection. Dr. Trope promised to make it painless, and he succeeded. The procedure was over much quicker than I had anticipated. If you’re not sure what they’re doing in your tooth, the website is very helpful and has lots of graphics. Plus there’s online patient registration. Why yes, I did just watch a flash presentation about endodontic therapy.
While I hope to never step foot in here again, I certainly would recommend their services to those in need.
