You have to be smoking crack to not consider this one of the best burger joints in the USA. Nothing in Los Angeles or the west coast can compare! Burgers here are the best! Truffle fries are on point! *UPDATE WHAT?! I can’t believe it’s closed! :(Can someone please let me know if this place relocated or something? Where’s the chef working now?! That burger will be missed…

I’m a fan. They offer some nice designer burgers as well as a build your own option, and of course a variety of toppings and sides like fries. You can go for a plain burger or prime organic grassfed beef. You place your order at the counter and then they call your name when it’s ready. I chose a buffalo blue burger off their specialty menu. You’re asked how you want your burger cooked, which usually makes me nervous. If an establishment asks for temp preference, they had better nail it. Lucky for me, my burger came out perfectly medium and my fellow diners were also pleased with their orders. The first thing that impressed me about the burger was the SLAB of blue cheese sitting atop the sizeable, mouthwatering patty and the nice drizzle of buffalo sauce encompassing everything. No blue cheese crumbles here — this cheese chunk was like a deck of cards in size! No complaints from me about this burger! I snuck a few fries from my friends — truffle fries were nice and light and crispy. Sweet potato fries were also good. The only downside of this place is the cluttered and small seating area. We went during lunch rush on a Friday so this is to be expected in any center city spots, but the large wooden high tops and stools were laid out in a really inefficient patten. It was like a game of Jenga to try to work yourself into a seat(which luckily we found). Burgers are around $ 9. Price with a drink and fries was about $ 15. Verdict: I would definitely return.

One of the best burgers in center city and the Parmesan garlic fries are amazing. Plenty of choices for dipping sauces too.

The burger is one of the better ones in the city. They have an assortment of toppings and sauces for your burger. I usually get the standard 500 burger that comes with lettuce, tomato, cheese, bacon, and house sauce along with regular or spicy fries(spicy is basically old bay seasoning). The fries are shoestring fries and have always had them nice and crispy. I would definitely eat at this place over 5 Guys any day(I’ve had some bad experiences there). It’s going to be slightly more expensive, but it’s worth the extra couple of bucks!

I am not an avid burger lover, but my bf is. So… needless to say, I go to a lot of burger joints. The burgers are thick, juicy & flavorful. While the burgers come in a variety of meat options from kobe beef, to turkey, or chicken. This spot provides many different sauces & sides to appease your taste buds. The truffle fries are the best! The fries are crisp and powerful. The place is small in size but HUGE in burger flavor & stature. If you want to enjoy a burger that is a step above the rest, then you must go to 500 degrees.

So, I’ll lead with the good: the burgers here are very good. They’re not the best in Philly, but they’re good. The fries are very good, too. The milkshakes, I guess I could take or leave. The problem is that 500º is way, way too expensive. I hadn’t been in a few years, because it was too expensive and not near enough to my office. We’ve moved office, so I thought I’d give them another try. The prices have gone up a fair bit in the interval. I got a «Turbo» burgo, regular fries, and a milkshake. It cost $ 17. (A standard combo of cheeseburger, fries, and soda is $ 12.08 — or if you order the items separately, $ 12.14. Don’t miss out on those 6¢.) I feel I should note that my bad feelings might have been stoked by the utterly joyless customer service we got. I don’t think the person working the counter wanted us to be there, and did nothing to make us feel welcome.

The veg & truffle fries The burger wasn’t bad, but the mushroom seemed limp and tired. I can think of several superior portobello burgers I’ve had in Philly. Perhaps I am really missing out by not getting the beef burgers. As for the truffle fries, they were incredibly oily. Good, but definitely not healthy in any way whatsoever. A friend ordered the garlic parmesan fries and they were pretty good. The counter also had a variety of house sauces. I tried the bearnaise mayonnaise and it tasted good.

This late night burger joint is exactly what i needed and thank you for that! Ordered the Turbo:(Lettuce, tomato, pickled jalapeño, chipotle ketchup, hickory-smoked cheddar) with spicy fries and a soda. It’s expensive($ 13 total), but so worth it when you’re craving something late night. I don’t eat burgers all the time but man this was good. The brioche bun was perfect and the meat was cooked to my liking. The fries are the star for me. They have a few options and I ordered ‘spicy fries.’ Definitely amazing. I won’t be making this a regular spot since it is quite expensive, but thank you for a delicious late night meal!

Good for lunch, excellent for late night. kobe burger with wild boar bacon is always my go to, skip the ketchup and mayo and opt for a runny fried egg instead

Some of the best burgers in the city. They also have vegetarian options like a portabella buger. Great options on the fries — truffle fries, regular and sweet potato fries. The space is small so not great for large groups. After dinner, I recommend going to insomnia cookie for dessert. Although you may be too full of you get one of their yummy milkshakes along with your burger and fries.

500 Degrees is named for the optimal temperature of a burger-cooking surface, and I’ve wondered if their burgers would be as flavorful as their name is unique. The atmosphere of the place is cozy, but cramped. The stools, tall tables, and bars were hard to navigate for a short girl like me, but the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. There’s a wall that has photos of previous customers enjoying their burgers, and I thought it was a nice personal touch. I got a medium-rare Up Side burger, which has a potato crisp, braised thick-cut bacon, baby arugula, and a sunny-side up egg on a warm, toasted bun. The egg was nicely done; the whites were crispy and the runny yolk made its way through the entire burger. My bacon could have been more crisp, but the arugula was fresh, and its crunch and slight peppery flavor rounded out the whole meal. The fries were great too: thin and crispy but still substantial. My food took a bit longer than I expected, but I came before the Monday lunch rush. Overall, good flavors and good service. I’d definitely come back again, but definitely on a Monday or Tuesday. Turns out that’s when they have their 10% student discount!

Ever since Five Guys came to Philadelphia, it seems like a dozen«have it your way» burger joints have stepped up to challenge fast food mediocrity in the burger biz. And thank god for that. Bareburger, BurgerFi, and Bobby’s Burger Palace come to mind. What 500 Degrees gets is that no one wants to pay $ 12 for something as basic as a hamburger from a gussied up Fudruckers, and they offer up $ 8 burgers that out-taste the others.

This is my go-to spot for a perfectly cooked to order burger on a brioche bun. Add in a side of their addictive truffle fries and I’m in food heaven. 500 degrees does burgers right, and I’ve never had a problem with the service.

This is a BURGER place! Had the pleasure of meeting Mark and the other guys today. 500 put so much thought into their menu with healthy options to various cheese options to turkey burgers and turkey bacon for your burgers I was impressed! Must try the fries we had truffle and sweet potato with the juiciest burgers in the history of mankind: Turbo and 500 burger. Wait wasn’t long and food was fantastic I couldn’t recommend one thing over another they were all great. Will definitely return for the food and great staff.

So I decided to stop in again since I was in the area. Today would be my second time here. I love burger joint and I’m also very picky with my burgers. This place is a lil bit crowded and I wish there were room for me to hang my coat and purse . Last time i was here i ordered the turbo burger and today again i ordered the same thing. It’s so juicy and delicious. Their burgers never failed. I also order their spicy fries and it was good. For the price, it’s all worth it . So for all you burgers lover out there. I would recommend you give this place a try.

I really like this place! I don’t eat beef Or pork so finding a place with a good turkey burger is hard. Their burger is really juicy and flavorful. Greasiness level is definitely up there, but I didn’t think it took away from the burger itself. With cheese, house sauce, LTO, it’s so good. The turkey burger doesn’t taste like it came out a freezer either. Their fries are on point too(def greasy too, probably leave these for 3 am trips) with their house sauce. A bit pricey, so I don’t go super often. The guy at the register wasn’t overly friendly, gotta be a little pushy

After a day touring the monuments of downtown Philadelphia in the pouring rain(crazy? yes, and starving) we reviewed our options for dinner. Although there were plenty of sophisticated choices, once we heard about 500 Degrees everyone headed in that direction. Sometimes you just need a burger. This casual sit-down place was so well-run it was hard to believe it wasn’t a chain, but sure enough, the website lists this as its only location(with promises to deliver more soon.) The setup inside is pretty simple: a large menu on the wall lists half a dozen pre-composed burgers and 40 different options for customizing your own, from a vegetarian portobello«patty» to wild boar bacon and fresh mozzarella. There were also six different fry options. Looking back, I wish I had pondered the list more — there are some amazing things on it, like the ability to peppercorn-crust your burger(um, YES) or add grilled onion. But, as I said, we were starving, so I chose the Upside, which boasted arugula, a potato crisp and a sunny-side-up egg. It also featured braised bacon, which did not sound good to me(I prefer crispy) so I ordered regular bacon. And I didn’t waver for a second in my decision to order truffle fries. Are you kidding?! My companions ordered their food and we all sat down to wait. There weren’t many other people in there at first, but for some reason it took longer than I would have thought to cook a burger and fries. During this period we sat down, wishing in vain for a place to hang our sopping wet coats, and got drinks. They had a great variety of natural sodas(black cherry, orange cream, root beer) plus Coke standbys and several varieties of home-brewed iced teas. The honeyed green tea was amazing. Their milkshakes sounded great, too, but not in near-freezing weather. Finally our burgers came, and we were not disappointed. The outside was a little charred from cooking it at a surface temperature of 500 degrees(hence the name) but the inside was juicy and warm. My husband and I each ordered medium burgers; mine was more like medium-well, barely pink, but his was very pink. Truthfully, I prefer my burgers medium-well but have learned to order medium as they are frequently overcooked. Perhaps the chefs could sense this? The meat was delicious, the arugula fresh(though I wished there were more) and the potato crisp a great addition — like a crunchy latke. The egg was great, too, but definitely undercooked as the white was still not set and the yolk completely runny. This was fine by me(I like my eggs lightly cooked) but when I tried to pick the burger up, the yolk popped and the whole thing slid apart into an irretrievable mess. I found a fork and ate it anyway — it was delicious! — but they need to rethink their cooking time. My fries were incredible, crispy and truffle-scented, and my husband’s(fried garlic and Parmesan with chopped herbs) were even better. On that note, I appreciated that their prices varied according to the cost of the item — toppings from 25 cents to $ 1.50 and fries at $ 2.75 for plain or $ 4.25 for the specialty ones we ordered. At $ 15 per person, this meal was not cheap, but it was very high-quality and I would definitely come back to try some more options! I would definitely skip the destructive egg, however.

Love their burger. Truffle burger is the way to go — very strong in truffle flavor. But I don’t remember the burger being as small. Don’t get me wrong — I was extremely full after I ate it; so full I didn’t finish my fries either. But I believe the burger used to be bigger. See pic — it looks like a slider? And I know it’s a gourmet burger, but man, $ 15+ for burger, fries, and a drink? I didn’t even get the truffle fries, which would’ve been an extra $ 1. I wouldn’t recommend this place to eat after the bars. You’ll be so drunk, anything would be good. No need for $ 15 fast food. They don’t have it out, but ask for a side of their aioli sauce. Goes well with their burgers and fries. All in all, good gourmet burger. But the venue doesn’t justify the price. You’re getting your own fountain soda, after all. $ 15 can go a long way elsewhere… with a server.

OPENTIL3AM for those late night hunger crawls! BUT be willing to throw some bows because this small little fast food joint is PACKED in the wee hours of the night it’s an extra $ 2 for specialty fries —garlic parmesan: SKIP so soggy after being tossed in olive oil & cheese. gross —truffle fries: nice & crispy, the winner of the night! you can choose your sauces for dipping the fries. i liked the spicy fry sauce much more than the white«house» sauce. i think those are the 2 most popular ones i wouldn’t go out of my way to try 500 degrees in phili but IF you’re craving fries after a night at the bars, might as well
