This review is for AKA at the corner at 18 and walnut. We’ve been there three times previously. Apparently we loved the food. However, it’s obvious that there is a lack of training when it comes to the services. Waited for about 8 minutes to get our waiter’s attention. Waited for another 15 minutes but still didn’t get our order. The restaurant/bar was even only half full when we were there.

Great place if you want close intimate atmosphere. Yes the drinks are small, but they are worth it, crazy and trendy names accompanied by inviting tastes. The staff has a great sense of humor and are friendly, do yourself a favor and stop by for a drink before dinner.

Pretty inside– cold & distant/creepy trendy staff– drinks are too small– I’m sure the oysters are great– LOOSEN up folks, you’d be more inviting if you told some jokes.

The AKA Café or a. café had a special tasting for guests of hotel. The place is very cozy and small enough for a first date. I choose the pork belly risotto balls which I felt should have been called risotto balls with pork belly since the pork belly was an after thought. Also the braised shank was a huge portion and though the lights were dim I could tell my pork was a bit on the pink side. What saved the meal was dessert which I enjoyed since it was chocolate tort, which was about three layers or rich dense chocolate and fudge topped with some sea salt. Since the meal was on the house I also enjoyed warm shortbread which really was so good. Skip the coffee it was very watery if you want coffee go to Tria.
