ADT Home Security Alarm System

My wife and I had an ADT security system installed in our home, which we had just purchased. Finally, after about three weeks, and almost a dozen telephone calls, we received our contract, and were more than SHOCKED to find that my wife’s signature had been forged on the contract. This of course, came with an upgrade which increased the monthly service cost. The cost was only $ 6.00. This however, did not obscure the fact that fraud had occurred. After almost a dozen telephone calls to ADT by my wife and me, we were sent a form by ADT which requires that my wife submit to ADT a paper with her signature written 10 times, a copy of her driver’s license, and a copy of a personal check with her signature on it. As this is a case of fraud, we are not sending ADT a personal check. Additionally, we have not heard from the company which ADT contracts with for our equipment. We are preparing to file charges of fraud with the Philadelphia District Attorney. This cannot be an isolated case. We were also informed that the upgrade charge most likely resulted in the representative who fraudulently signed the contract receiving a bonus.

I’m not surprised to read the prior reviews on this company. My fiancé and I have been calling to have our ADT system fixed by the local Philadelphia company multpile times, and even called ADT headquarters for service, and have been ignored. It’s been almost two months and the system is completely useless. It only worked for about 3 weeks. I’m a few hundred in the hole now on account of their AWFUL customer service. I’m canceling my account and reporting the charges as fraudulent. You can’t charge for a service you are not providing.

I have had ADT Pulse for a few months now. I have had nothing but problems with my brand new system. The panel has been replaced 3 times already. A technician has spent well over 12 hours working on the system — which I had to take off work for. I will never recommend this company to anyone. There are nothing but incompetent customer service representatives who give the worst advice. The last person I spoke with TOLD ME to switch to another service provider.

I purchased the ADT security system for my business roughly 1 ½ year ago, first off it took 3 weeks to get it installed, even though I told them I need it done asap, ok fine they busy. On the day of installation the tech comes out to install it, while my salesman is talking to a district manager right in front of my business and DID NOT even have the decency to come up to me to greet me, oh yeah btw his name is Paul Demberg, and this guy also promised me an additional security pendant, he tells me it’s on back order… and once he gets one in he’ll get me one instantly YEAH IT’S BEEN 1 ½ YEAR, called him up several times, gives me the run around, so I just gave up. Last week my business got broken into, alarm went off great it works, so today I called ADT to ask if they can change the time frame for the alarm to go off, right now it’s 45 seconds, I would like to change it to 30 seconds… the service rep told me $ 175 dollars an hour… OUTRAGEOUS! ADT YOU SUCK!

Interesting. I had a completely different experience with ADT than Michael did. First, they couldn’t re-​use my security panel because it wasn’t compatible with their system. When I pointed out it was an ADT panel that had been re-​stickered by my current security company, he then changed his tune to the ‘it’s just too old a version’. Pricing was a good 40% more than comparable services, and didn’t include fire monitoring or Carbon Monoxide. (They do, but it costs more$$). Watch out for the lock in clause, it’s three years (!) up front and renews annually unless you notify them IN WRITING.
