They quoted me a price on the phone and then when I went to pay it was 10bucks more!

Will not be coming back here no matter how cheap it is. You get what you pay here. I’m all about supporting local business and the smaller shops but I’ve never had such an awful experience. I came in for a pedi and thought for $ 20 what a steal. As soon as I walked in, I felt a bit out of place and just went to help myself to pick out a color. The nail polishes are all scattered around the place and felt like I was all up on people trying to find a color I liked. The selection is not too vast with nudes, reds and a handful of bright colors. Whatever so I sit in the hair and a guy started my pedi. I told him I didn’t need a cut down, but just a file and he still cut my nails down and way too short. He also did my cuticles and ended up hurting me. I was afraid to get cut and bleed but he kept doing it anyways until I had to put my hand over my toes for him to stop and just do the polish. They barely scrubbed or exfoliated and by then I was more stressed out there. He did my polish and it’s all bubbled, on the sides of my skin and heavily top coated. I just didn’t expect such a horrible experience here. I paid and left.

My girlfriend went here to get her manicure and this man did her nails and did the worst job. The place is also grimey and they dont sanitize their tools. Needless to say she was pissed and advised all her friends NEVER to go there.

I just got a refill and a trim with new polish and it was great. Inexpensive, quick, and pretty. The only reason I did four out of five is that I didn’t see the gentleman doing my nails sanitizing anything but the lady next to him was.

Not horrible, but not the best manicure I’ve had in my life. The place appears to be owned by a woman and her husband(who I assume is the receptionist, because he doesn’t do nails). I walked in on a Monday afternoon for a last-minute manicure and was taken care of right away, and the manicurist was friendly and attentive to my needs. Since I chose a sparkly polish, she did an extra coat so it wouldn’t look so sparse on my nails, so I was much appreciative of that. However, within a day of my manicure, my nails started to chip(welcome to the world of a guitarist), so I figured it wasn’t so much worth my time to get regular polish. Since I’m not indebted to one particular nail salon, at least I can say I’ve tried this one, and it was okay, but nothing extremely special.

The owner-technicians put a lot of attention and care in to your treatment. I actually get tired of the polish color when I get pedicures from here, because they last so long.

I am visiting my sister in Philadelphia and I walked by this place and saw they had manicure and pedicures for $ 25.00! I thought it was a great price, so my sister and I walked in for an impromptu main/pedi. The owners were VERY nice, friendly and accommodating. I very much enjoyed my time here. Yes it’s not the most luxurious spa as far as services like waxing, ambience, etc., but to me, there is great service, it’s very clean and nice and that’s all the matters to me. Plus, it’s called«All About Nails» so it really is all just about nails. And in that department, I think they have all you need. Nice pedicure chairs, and nice nail services. My sister said she would probably come back again(it’s a far walk for her, so that’s why she said«probably»). But I will definitely come back here next time I’m in Philly.

Getting a gel manicure here was a mistake; fortunately not a mistake that came with a nail fungus, but not a smart decision. My manicurist(a young woman) barely took out her headphones the entire time she was doing my nails. She also was totally unfamiliar with the procedure to remove UV gel shellac; you have to soak cotton balls in acetone and apply to each nail, then wrap it in aluminum foil. The trapped gases heat up and separate the shellac from your nail in a layer that is easily peeled off. Instead, she had me soak my nails in a bowl of acetone and then scraped the crap out of them to get the polish off. The gel shellac was also applied super thickly, and thus had tiny hairline cracks all over it just a few days later. Since this type of manicure typically lasts at least 2 weeks, this application was simply unskilled. No one was remotely pleasant in the half-hour I sat there, and the manicurist did not use new tools or anything. There was not autoclave as I have seen in other salons -. she just pulled a file and cutlcle nippers out a drawer. Not suggested on any level.

I’ve been to plenty of nail salons around the South St. area and they’re all overpriced and crappy. All About Nails is the only one that has provided consistently good service for fair prices. It’s a very simple salon — not really decorated nicely, decent selection of OPI& some essie. However, the owners are incredibly nice. They’re a very pleasant couple. The husband does manicures if it’s busy and the wife does both. Her english isn’t that great but they’re really friendly. They’re on first name basis with a lot of their loyal customers. They are also really nice about fixing any accidental mess ups you may have even if it’s a day later. It’s usually not that crowded and I can just walk in for a mani/pedi($ 25). A mani is just $ 10 and a color change is $ 5. They just started offering gel manicures — I think it’s $ 25.
