The doctor was great! His reception staff, albeit nice, NOT helpful. Instead of telling me that they misplaced my paperwork that I had filled out online to save me time, they let me wait almost an hour before simply asking me I fill out a piece of paper. I went in for an eye exam and left without my prescription. The receptionists acted confused when I asked her for it then told me to pick it up another time. I have tried to reach them five times and keep getting an answering service ensuring that they will call back shortly. I’m not counting on it. 2 ½ hours of waiting for, essentially, nothing.

I used the website Zocdoc to make this appointment, error #‘1. The site said this clinic accepted my insurance(Aetna). I made an appointment, it was confirmed, all was good. I even checked in online. This included entering my information, insurance information, and health information. Everything they’d need. ANYWAY, I get to the office and am told after 40 minutes of waiting that I am not eligible for an eye exam. Somehow they interpreted my insurance as saying I could only get one every 2 years. I left fuming at my insurance and the staff for not calling me or telling me sooner(THEYHADTHISINFO A DAYBEFORE!) I go back to work(because at this point I’ve wasted an hour of my day) and call my insurance. They are baffled because I actually have no exam limit. I call the clinic back to tell them. After 20 minutes of confused«ummmm» and«hmmmm», someone rudely tells me my eye med coverage(Which is only for glasses and contacts, which I CLEARLY marked on the intake forms) doesn’t cover me. I said duh, its only for contacts/glasses, like I said. She then tells me they don’t take Aetna. Well, that would’ve been nice know from the get go. Overall, rude customer service, poor customer service, and lack of attention and foresight will never bring me back here again.

Went here because they take my insurance and it’s very convenient for me as I’m a student at Penn. The good: Dr. Pritchard is very nice and knows what he’s talking about. The bad: Receptionists had some difficulty locating the details of my insurance because of some internet issues, so I ended up sitting around for 15 minutes waiting for them to try to figure it out before Dr. Pritchard suggested I could leave a deposit and they would refund it once they figured out my insurance so I didn’t have to continue sitting around(as I was positive my insurance would cover everything). All in all, for a simple eye check up and re-diagnosis of my prescription, and a glasses fitting, I was in there for a good hour and a half. Needless to say I was annoyed, although Dr. Pritchard’s friendliness ameliorated my annoyance a bit. Other than that, the woman who helped me select a pair of glasses was alright. She informed me they didn’t have a contract with the glasses brand I’m used to(Silhouette) so I couldn’t get frameless glasses. OK not a big deal. She brought me a selection to try out, and I half-liked the first pair I tried on, and didn’t like any of the following ones. When I was done I said I guess these ones are the best out of these… And she didn’t offer for me to see more. I didn’t care enough to ask to see more, as I only wear my glasses to go from taking my contacts out to bed. But it would have definitely been nice to see more and for her to have been more proactive. Clearly I like to analyze(and maybe over-analyze) situations haha. I’m hoping the hour and a half thing was a fluke incident because of one over-crowded timeslot in the day and faulty internet. Because if I go in next time for an appointment and don’t see the doctor for 20 minutes and then take an hour to get out of there after that, I’ll definitely go somewhere else. But for now, I’ll give the whole office another shot.
