I won’t be back. Just recently moved in the area and am looking for a go to Chinese take out spot and this place is definitely not it. It was overpriced and the food was nothing special. I wanted some fried wings and wonton soup. They only have fried wing dings and they were extremely hard and small. No thanks. The only positive thing I can say is that my food was done quickly. Let the search continue.

Beijing has definitely taken a turn for the worse. It seems that they got a little to big for their britches and in order to keep up they now pre-make and then re-heat some food. I’m a stickler for good fresh food. No one wants re-heated or re-fried general tso chicken. I will not be going back. Thanks for the memories Beijing… but if i ever need a good laugh i may stop in to see the sign that reads «no cards accepted sorry for your inconvenience» not sorry for the inconvenience…

I a big fan of Chinese food, and with working all over the city I’m always trying to find a good Chinese restaurant in every hood! A coworker turned me on to Beijing so I tried it for lunch. I had the Shrimp Lo Mein/Pork Fried Rice lunch special. It was really good, the LoMein was the way I like it mostly noodles and only a few vegetables. The Fried Rice was very good cooked in soy sauce, not the yellow bland rice some places serve. I plan on being a repeat customer whenever I’m in the great Northeast!

It’s just average Chinese food, nothing spectacular. What really made me mad was the fact that they didn’t accept credit cards. Who doesn’t accept credit cards these days? I went to pick my order up, pulled out my debit card and the woman says, «cash only!» I had to run to wawa, and get cash, to only come back and get my order.

Not sure what happened to this place. The food used to be amazing, the quality and taste have gone down hill big time. Tonight, I had enough. The last 4 – 5 orders have been consistently bad. There are a couple other Chinese places close by, that I will be trying. This place also ONLY takes CASH, very annoying at times. Really disappointed, I used to love the food here.

Nothing local even compares to Beijing when it comes to Chinese takeout. Everything I have is consistently on par with expectation. They don’t skimp on the meat or seafood in the meals and the prices are reasonable. There are healthier options available with steamed vegetables and sauce on the side, in addition to the usual fare. My personal favorite on the menu is the chicken egg foo young, which will yield leftovers into the next day. Their delivery is almost impossibly fast and they’ve never messed up an order of mine. Try a lunch special. You won’t be disappointed.

In my continuing search to find really good Chinese food in the northeast another candidate has yet fallen by the wayside. Beijing’s food is just average and there was nothing in our meal that would suggest the need to try them again. The wonton broth was fine albeit the meat inside the dumplings was salty. The eggrolls were small and not very tasty, but not at all oily, which is a plus. The Szechuan chicken had no spice to it at all. It was very bland and tasteless with an artificial flavor. The pepper steak also lacked flavor and the meat was chewy. Have to say I really did not like the meal and probably will not be getting food from them again. On the positive side — the prices were reasonable, the person who took my order very nice and the food was prepared for takeout quickly. The search goes on…

What I had: House fried rice: very good compared to other take outs. the shrimp are bigger than what other restaurants normally use. Chicken wings: cut into buffalo wing pieces for easy consumption egg drop soup: the worst egg drop soup i’ve ever tasted. too many clumps of unmixed starch

There are so many Chinese restaurants in Philly. Most are pretty decent, but there’s always something that makes me like one over the other. In this case, it’s several things. For one, it always smells great when you walk in. Some joints just smell a little funky(and you eat there anyway but you make a mental note to keep looking for a another favorite place). Here, it just smells really nice as soon as you enter especially around lunchtime. The menu has a great selection of styles including Schechwan, Hunan and Cantonese. I suggest trying different styles each time out, but I think they excel at Schechwan here. My only sticking point is the size of their shrimp. Although they don’t use the baby shrimp like a lot of places(except where noted on the menu, they don’t use the larger shrimp that I like, either(21 – 30). Still, they do imbue their shrimp with enough flavor to compensate. Nevertheless, if they served those bigger, succulent shrimps, I’d have added a fourth star. Still, I would heartily recommend Beijing if you’re in the neighborhood and in the mood for good Chinese food.
