Unbelievable atmosphere, service, and food. Walked in with no reservation(although one is highly recommended on weekends). Was with my two year old daughter and staff was wonderful with her. Food was as good as it gets, but the service was phenomenal.

Had dinner here twice and really enjoyed it. It’s just a perfect little restaurant reminiscent of Paris. The food, the service, the atmosphere — all is exceptional. Everything on the menu that I have tried had been delicious.

We tried it once, tried it twice, we just cant stop! We order a variety of items and are always impressed by the wine, the food, the service and leaved deliciously satisfied. We think about dessert but have never actually ordered it. We have had the privilege of enjoying a truffle or three as even with no room, they are impossible to pass up!

Came here for Restaurant Week with a friend. Delicious Pre Fix menu of various popular entrees and appetizers. Escargot is a MUST! It is delicious and a wonderful presentation. I got the rabbit entrée and my friend got a lamb entrée. Both were delicious. Everything is this location including ambiance, location, and food are perfect. I no longer live in Philadelphia but will come here when I am in town.

the first brunch prix fixe($ 25) I’ve tried in Philly and it was a great experience! The location is a little inconvenient but a nice stroll if the weather is decent. Bistrot La Minette faces the main street and has a few lovely tables set up outside, as well as a surprisingly spacious interior with 10+ tables. For the food — *Bread for the table: our server shared that they bake it fresh every day in their own kitchen! My dad was very impressed by the bread & butter. *Potato & leek soup: this was lovely on a slightly chilly day, but I wouldn’t order it again. The taste of either potato and leek was light, and it was a little thin. *Fisherman’s eggs(ordered by my dad): with a crispy baguette nestled underneath the perfectly poached eggs, and drenched in creamy but not heavy sauce, this dish was a winner. i’d definitely order this next time! The mussels were tender and cooked perfectly too. *Duck confit: I was excited about this after reading Unilocal reviews but it was just okay. The skin was crisp and perfect but the dish was too oily for my taste: there was literally a pool of yellowish oil on the plate from the start. The potatoes were also just o-kay. *Mille-feuille: AHH so good!!! No regrets ordering this. The cream was dotted with specks of vanilla bean(?) and thankfully didn’t have the heavy overly creamy taste like icing. The puff pastry was perfectly browned. This dish was perfection. I’d stop by just for this again! Service was also good — I was the only one who ordered the prix fixe menu because my dad and I were a little full, and our server volunteered to split the soup without us asking. Bathrooms also had fresh warm towels, something I’ve seen very rarely!

Good solid French menu. Scallops(2) starter very fresh and trout amandine main course. Both very good. Wine list minimal per glass choice small. Fun atmosphere and cordial service after a false start when I didn’t want the table by the kitchen.

I’m not the biggest fan of French food but heard great things about this place from Unilocal reviewers as well as media outlets so I had to check this place out. It’s a really cute place and I’m glad I went there. Truthfully, the lunch entrees(poached eggs and oven-baked eggs) weren’t all that impressive and they were a bit too heavy with too many different flavors going on but I might not have enjoyed the meal as much as I should have because I was so hungry and ended up eating like 10 loaves of bread with their ridiculously delicious butter. The butter was honestly one of the best butters I’ve ever had. The service was a bit lacking especially considering the restaurant wasn’t crowded but we did arrive towards the end of lunch hour. But the biggest highlight of this place was the dessert. I got the caramelized puff pastry and it was honestly one of the best desserts I’ve had in my entire life. That dessert alone made it worth coming to this restaurant. I would come back just to get dessert. Gentlemen, if you’re trying to impress a girl, take her here and feed her the caramelized puff pastry. It will be a date she won’t forget… even if it doesn’t work out and she wants to forget you.

Had a DELICIOUS dinner last night at this wonderful little bistrot. It’s(thankfully) off any main drags so sitting outside on the small seating area is quiet enough to be quite enjoyable. This is our second time there, but I am quite sure I’ll be back — in fact I’d like to make it our regular! Service is excellent, attentive but not obtrusive, professional and polished. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming it just puts you into a good mood! The chef even took a moment out to come out and say hello, and we gave him well-deserved kudos on the excellent meal. Oh yes. The food. Delicious. I had an appetizer(from the newest menu) of «bouchee a la reine» which is a puff pastry nest overflowing with a ragout of wild mushrooms. Crispy-crumbly buttery puff pastry is a perfect vehicle for the mushrooms — which held large, generous pieces of morel(one of the best mushrooms in my book), black, and other varieties of mushrooms. They are served with bright green fava beans and a wonderful creamy and rich sauce touched with Jurassiene wine(intense, almost like a sherry). You’ll want to have lots of the perfect bread they serve on hand to sop up every last bit of that sauce. Or just lick your plate. My companion had the new soup that was also recently added to the menu, a flavorful, creamy potato-leek soup dressed with brown butter croutons and parsley oil swirls. It’s the kind of soup you know is going right to your thighs, but it’s just too hard to stop eating the generous piping-hot portion until the last drop is gone. For mains, my companion –having less-than-bottomless capacity for food like I do, went with her favorite, the escargots. They are served in the cutest, tiniest little individual crocks, and spot-on for a traditional preparation. It’s nice to note there is a fine balance of butter, garlic and herbs. Some places often try and kill you with too much garlic which you still remember days later, these are just right. Have a more hearty appetite, I went for the Faux-Filet de Bœuf Sauce Foie Gras, a strip steak cut to look almost like a filet mignon, and an generous portion at that. This is heavenly and hit the spot since I’d been craving a good steak. While it’s the most-expensive item at 28 dollars, the menu is quite reasonably priced. Good luck finding a steak, with accompaniments, at most restaurants for less then 38 dollars. And what delectable accompaniments! Brussels sprouts, wonderfully prepared roasted or somehow caramelized(and was that a subtle little kick of something acidic to balance out their almost-sweet earthiness? I love Brussels sprouts. Well, provided someone doesn’t boil them like my Mother, which should be illegal. I digress). The plate is drizzled with a thick red wine reduction, which swirls nicely with the fois gras sauce on and under the steak for a perfect combination. And yes, more bread. Although carb-counters may cringe, the dish also comes with Pommes Dauphine, the softest clouds of potatoes(note these are different than«Dauphinoise» which is a gratin) that are mixed with choux pastry and deep fried into small ball shapes, Wonderful — if you’re going for the rich meat dish, one might as well have their potatoes and like them, too, right? Lest the waitress think we were done, we finished off our wine(a very solid St. Emilion) with a salad, in the«digestif» style I grew up with — simple Bibb lettuce mixed with vinaigrette and chives. And no, still not done. We couldn’t resist …(ok, I confess it was all MY idea) the wonderful and perfectly executed crème brûlée for dessert. Thankfully the chef here doesn’t drift off with desserts — I’m a purist and this was an excellent rendition. Lavender or weird flavors in crème brûlée like make trendy places? Pah! This one is a generous size, too, and simply served with a couple of plump blackberries. The wait staff informed us the chef likes to make sure people are overly full when they leave — now that’s MY kind of guy!(Including the extra slice of chocolate mousse cake, AND the little chocolates served with the check — it’s impossible to go home hungry from here. And I plan on taking him up on the«fill-me-up and roll-me-outta-here» approach next time we go back!(Yes, you pecky eaters and waist watchers can have plenty of choices on the menu to keep things under control. But hey, it’s French food. My grandmother(still 92 and kicking around) is living proof that lots of butter and red wine are good for the soul. The restaurant also offers a «family meal» special weeknights and Sundays(not Friday or Saturday) which is a $ 25 dollar appetizer-entrée type arrangement, but they advise to call in advance as it is a fixed menu from 5−6pm. They now also offer a 5– or 7-course tasting menu, as well as a «French Family dinner» served family style for larger parties(heck, I can eat enough to qualify for 2 people myself!!) but it’s advied to check the website or call for the specifics on those options. My new favorite place!!!

Had a catch-up dinner with a girlfriend last night, and this was the perfect location. The ambiance is warm and inviting(especially during a cold snap!), the service is impeccable — attentive but fun — and the food was very good(albeit pricey). We shared the escargots as an appetizer, and they were everything everyone says they are — perfectly cooked, garlicky & herby. I had the duck breast and she had the cassoulet special. Honestly, the duck breast was good but not great — a little sinewy? Her cassoulet looked amazing. In addition, the kitchen provided gougeres as an amuse, amazing bread & butter, and chocolate truffles with the check. Nice little touches.

I’ve had the pleasure of dining at Bistrot La Minette three times now and each time has been an excellent experience. The most recent I went for a date with my girlfriend who had happened to have a rough morning and our waiter, Richard, was absolutely phenomenal. He was attentive but not overbearing and helped her perk up with some jokes and fun facts about the restaurant and food. We both had well made Manhattan’s to start, she had the roasted half chicken which was nicely seasoned and fresh, I had the the seared duck breast with roasted apples/turnips/potatoes/honey jus/pistachios — easily one of the best duck dishes I’ve had. The atmosphere is well tailored to the food and the staff are all very kind, I cannot recommend it enough, especially for a quality date night!

Loved the cocktails, the dinner and the ambience(as always) but a bit disappointed with our server last night. My husband & I were there for a special occasion — a landmark birthday for my hubby(which I mentioned when they called to confirm the reservation). At the end of dinner we noticed another table had a sweet little plate with happy birthday written in chocolate, so I asked one of the staffers to flag our waitress, since I thought they would do the same for us(since I mentioned it when I called … not that big of a deal, but I just wanted my husband’s milestone birthday to seem a bit more special). The waitress comes over with the plate and instead of saying happy birthday, she said«oh another birthday over here» and places the plate on our table. Then when it came time for the check — she just dropped it on the table, with no words about having a nice evening, or thank you for dining with us, etc. When you spend $ 175+ a couple for dinner, you would expect at least a thank you for joining us this evening… instead of a drop and run, as if we were at a burger and a beer joint. Unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed. Yeah, first world problem I know, but I did want a bit better service for us for a very special occasion. I’d like to deduct 2 stars for that waitress(who never introduced herself, so I don’t know her name — she just didn’t seem that interested in even being there) but i just deducted one star, since it wasn’t the chef’s fault.

I’ve had Bistrot La Minette on my radar for a long time thanks to the excellent review by Abby W. I just needed to grab a friend(figuratively, not literally, I don’t do that anymore without permission), make a res on open table and trek on down to the city through the Friday night rush hour traffic. I love this city, and this adorable, authentic french bistro just a block below South St is another reason why
Service: We were welcomed by a delightful, pleasant and professional hostess and promptly taken to our table. Our server, Richard, was as good as it gets. He appeared out of nowhere when you were ready for anything, you didn’t have to have a thought in your head for more than a couple seconds before he read your mind and was at your table side. Drinks: Exceptional drinks from their cocktail list started off a wonderful evening. The 2 page wine list was perfect, and easy to find something to enjoy. Apps: Yes, the escargot, a must. 9 tender escargot with little croutons atop, individually resting in their own little crock in mild garlic butter. The Bouchée à la Reine with a selection of wild mushrooms and fava beans in a crispy, light puff pastry, presented soooo well was excellent in flavors as well. Entrees: My red wine-braised pork cheeks,(with bacon lardons, crimini mushrooms, and roasted root vegetables) were tender as they can be, rich and decadent, and an absolute delight to savor and enjoy. The special of the day, a duck cassoulet, and I had a lot of this, was pure divine comfort food, with an interesting mix of textures and spices. I loved both. The portions were not small as one would expect from the French, add in the little bucket of french bread to start with salt topped butter, and there was hardly room for dessert. So a little triad of sorbets hit the spot. Someone here mentioned Bibou and Bistro La Minette being the only authentic French cuisine In Philadedlphia. I’ve been to both, loved both, 5 stars for both. But Bistrot La Minette with it’s own unique charm, this cozy and comfortable, unpretentious French bistro is more my style.

First time there, and I was impressed. The house red wine was great– well balanced and slightly fruity. Mushroom en croute appetizer was a sizable portion for sharing, and simply delicious. Entrée of trout was finely done, not too salty and not too bland. The duck entrée was amazing and perhaps the best duck it tasted. I’ll definitely return to try more and this lovely restaurant!

We picked Bistrot La Minette for our Valentine’s Day Dinner. It was the perfect choice! The ambience was romantic, the service was top notch, the wine was memorable and the food was amazing. We both got the filet mignon special and it did not disappoint. We are already planning our next trip back to sit in the cute high tops by the windows in warmer weather.

I go about once a year, and BLM keeps getting better. The place was hopping last Saturday night. We needed to wait about 20 minutes past our reservation time, but found a place at the crowded bar to wait. The bartender ignored me for about 10 minutes, and finally another one noticed we were sitting there with nothing to do but stare at the other patrons. Once seated the warm up time was slow… server was distracted, and attending to several other tables. She gradually got more energy with our service, but I kind of felt like an inconvenience. Had to call out for her attention several times. Her knowledge of the wines was… non-existent. But the good stuff is the food. I had escargot(as usual), and they are lovely. They have been preparing them the same way for years, it may be time to try a new presentation. The filet I had was perfect with mushrooms and delicious potatoes. My husband had two specials. A seared foie gras appetizer, incredible. And duck confit as an entrée, a little on the dry side, but that’s not uncommon. Overall, food was an B+, ambience an A, service a C+. I expect a fine tuned machine for a restaurant with this maturity and Saturday night should be a seamless experience. This was not. But the food is still amazing.

Œuf du Pêcheur is amazing, so are the pork cheeks. Steak tartare was also pretty good but I did not find it in the menu the last time we were there. Ambience is great, typical bistro. Nice selection of wines and service is great too!

*Restaurant Week Review* We were a little smitten with Bistrot La Minette when we walked through the door. It’s hard not to fall for the quaint, french-inspired space, and the bustling vibe and wonderful scents put us in the mood for a great meal. We went late at night at the start of the blizzard, so it wasn’t as crowded as I expected. They gave us some space with the table choice, which I appreciated. Our server was attentive and wonderful all night, and he made some great selections(house red, sweetbreads and beef cheeks). We loved the taste and the price of the house wine($ 23 for a full pitcher is a killer deal at a place like this). We started with the sweetbreads and escargot. The former were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My issue was the tiny portion size, even by app standards. The escargot were on point, but the little cup serving vessels made it very difficult to get everything in one bite. I guess that’s what you sacrifice for the pretty presentation! The main courses were polar opposites. The beef cheeks were wonderfully prepared, decadent and packed with flavor in a deeply reduced sauce. On the other hand, the rabbit dish was a serious disappointment. It was dry and overcooked, and the pasta accompanying it was just sad: nearly no sauce and impossibly bland. Right before the our main courses were served, I was shocked that they brought two couples and sat them on each side of us. Completely understandable on a busy Restaurant Week service, but not when the place is half full. The desserts were both good, but the layered chocolate granache cake was definitely the winner. It was supremely rich, but satisfying and smooth. My layered pastry with fruit was good, but the pastry was surprisingly rigid, so it was impossible to cut without the filling squishing out all over the place.

Came for restaurant week and it was a great value. The poached egg with mussels appetizer and the fois gras terrine were both excellent. The duck was cooked perfectly and very tender. The pork cheeks were delicious. They were not the most tender cheeks that I have had but there was plenty of sauce to dip it in which made up for a lack of moisture in the meat. Lastly, the chocolate mousse cake was exceptional. It had the most perfect layering of chocolate cake, mousse and ganache. I would go back for the cake alone.

Found this place via Unilocal,my family and i were in town for the holiday and this restaurant was very close to where we were staying. The pictures looked very tasty, so why not? On another note, this was also my first time having a French meal, so I was very excited. The restaurant felt very cozy, and intimate. I don’t suggest a party of more than 4 people, because the tables are put very close together, anymore than 4 would be a bit uncomfortable. Ceuf du pecheur; escargots a la bourguignonne; terrine de four gras; faux-filet de bceuf sauce foie gras; lapin roti a la moutarde; joues de porc a la bourguignonne The fishermen’s style poached egg — loved it, 5 The snails — the presentation of this dish was very very elegant(looks expensive), but as far as the taste, it was kind of bland… So… a 2 for the taste, and 5 for the image. The vanilla scented duck — very interesting taste, something I definitely have not taste before. The first bite was intense… Very strong vanilla taste, wasn’t a fan of the meat… I believe this dish is suppose to be served cold, I’m glad I tried this dish because it is definitely very interesting but just not my taste… So um. 2… The steak — bomb, 5 The pork cheeks — the sauce was extra salty… The meat was bit dry… The presentation of the dish was poor, the meat was dark, the sauce was dark, couldn’t really see what the dish looked like. So a 2. The rabbit — id rather not discuss this dish… Or rate it, so you can try it on your own. Good customer service, couldn’t ask for more. My server was very attentive. Overall, it was a nice experience. Food was decent, but not amazing.

Had a wonderful dinner here last night, and I’d definitely be interested in coming back. We started off with the poached egg and mussels which were delicious. The sauce is so savory and creamy, and perfect for the toast it’s served on – as well as the homemade bread they serve you, perfect for dipping up that delicious sauce. We also started with the mac and cheese, which is SO cheesy and creamy, one of the best I’ve had and I’m really picky about my mac and cheese. My sister got the duck breast which was cooked to a perfect temperature, well seasoned. My partner seemed to enjoy his trout over haricot verts. I got the gnocchi which had that perfectly crusted over melted cheese on the top, so rich, cheesy, warm and comforting. The potato gnocchi on the inside under the cooked cheese was soft and fluffy as well. Definitely happy with this dish. Oh how I wish this place was a BYO but alas we can’t have it all. The food is great though, I enjoyed every dish that we had.

I’m giving them 5 stars for the food, but their service wasn’t the best. They weren’t very attentive, we tried getting their attention several times, and one of their servers didn’t even apologize(or say anything else) when my friend pointed out there was a hair in her mille feuille. Having said that, someone else later came to apologize and bring her a piece of chocolate cake to make up for it. I had the poached eggs with mussels. It was probably one of the better things I’ve eaten in a restaurant in a while. Toast crunchy, eggs perfect, buttery mussels and sauce, yum. The mille feuille was great too. This restaurant really takes you to France. The ambience was incredibly relaxing and mellow. I will definitely come here for dinner sometime soon.

Omg. That was the best meal we’ve had in a WHILE. we did the $ 25pp family style meal– such a great option. All day Sunday and mon-thu 5:30 — 6:30. It came with a giant salad of endive and frisée with goat cheese and golden raisins and pears. It was delicious. Then we chose the chicken, mashed potatoes and haricot verts. The potatoes were so good, I have never eaten any better than those. So buttery and light and seasoned perfectly. Potato crack is more accurate. The chicken was juicy with crispy skin and so precisely cleaned and presented. The mustard sauce was tangy and refreshing. Ugh. So good. But then after all that you get a pot de crème and it’s like the richest, loveliest chocolate mousse/pudding on the planet. Highly highly recommended.

Truly one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. I decided to make a reservation for a romantic date with my girlfriend, and to this day(almost a year later), she still says great things about the time we had here! FOOD: 5⁄5 We only came here for main course as our date had an interesting twist — appetizer at Talula’s Garden, main course here, and dessert at Max Brenner(my S.O.‘s favorites in Philly). Regardless, the entrees at Bistrot La Minette made a lasting impression. I ordered the Lapin Roti a la Moutarde(the rabbit entrée, to put it crudely it), and it ended up being a wonderful treat — I was especially surprised at how juicy and tender the meat was. As a small heads up, portions here aren’t generous but I had expected that coming in. My girlfriend also loved her braised beef entrée, so I was happy she enjoyed the French occasion since she’s a bit limited in her food options and French cuisine tends to be a bit more adventurous. We also had wine to go with our entrees, but no lasting impressions on that. AMBIANCE: 5⁄5 The restaurant is definitely a popular choice for celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, and other special occasions, and I can see why. I found the place very cozy, quaint, and romantic. It’s a fairly small restaurant, so definitely make reservations in advance to secure a spot on a weekend night. The only downside was it was a bit hard to find(there was a festival on South Street, resulting in roads being closed and our cab unable to get near the shop), and walking down towards Bainbridge was a bit sketchy as we weren’t familiar with this part of Philadelphia. SERVICE: 4⁄5 Since we were only here for the entrees, we got a couple confused remarks from the waiter, who pressured us a little to order first courses and desserts. We kindly turned his offers down, but for the rest of the night we were more in our own bubble, enjoying the cozy, romantic setting.

Disclaimer: I have never been to a French restaurant before, so I have no good comparison. Alright, to the show. A friend and I decided on Bistrot for Restaurant Week, especially since we’ve never been to a French restaurant and had seen great reviews on Unilocal about this one. We make a reservation for 7:45 and admit we got there about 15 minutes late because of road construction(we called ahead of time to let them know). The restaurant was bustling, which is a good sign of it being popular. We wait some time to be seated(we WERE late, which was understandable) and finally we’re seated in the middle of the throng. The restaurant is low-key in its décor, nothing outstanding. It took quite a while to get service. About 15 minutes after we were seated, we were asked about water. The time between courses was much longer than I would have liked. You know what I get really excited about at restaurants? Bread baskets. Disappointingly, once the server finally got around to handing us a bread basket, half of the pieces were burnt and practically inedible. I’m fine with crunchy bread, but I’d rather not break a tooth on one, thank you very much. Later on, we looked around and noticed that everyone else’s bread was not burnt like ours. Maybe it’s just my own opinion, but maybe you shouldn’t serve diners bread when it’s obviously burnt???(Sorry, that I spent so much time talking about this. I’m really passionate about carbs.) We were also offered a complimentary cheese puff. I didn’t like it because it tasted like Cheez-its to me(I hate Cheez-its), but my friend happily took my unfinished piece. NOWDONEWITHRAMBLINGANDONTOTHEFOOD. Œuf de Pêcheur(poached egg, toast, mussels, tarragon) My favorite of the three. Egg on toast was great. Toast was a bit hard at first, but yolk made it nice and soft, thankfully. Mussels were delicious, with only a few still being in the shell, making it have a nice aesthetic. Unfortunately, the restaurant dims the lights as the evening goes on so the picture taking opportunity was poor(I get it. It’s for the ~ambiance~). Confit de Canard(Duck confit, ragout of summer legumes, wilted arugula, lemon shallot jus) The duck was fine. The skin was nice and crispy. The meat gets tiring after first few bits, and it was a bit too salty. Also, I found out that I don’t like wilted arugula. Legumes didn’t add much to dish. Verrine de Myrtille et Citron(Lemon curd, Crème de violette almond cake, blueberry compote, blueberries, fromage blanc) I am a strong believer that dessert can save the night, but in this case, it didn’t cut it. As a tart enthusiast, I was excited to see this lemony dessert on the menu. Unfortunately, even this dish was too tart for my tastes(which is saying something), and overall was difficult to finish. I tried a bit of my friend’s puff pastry, which was absolutely delightful, albeit a bit of work to eat. The night was finished with some complimentary dark chocolate ganaches. Very dark, which I enjoy, but a bit too rich for my taste. Overall, service was fine yet lacking, food ranged from good to disappointing, and I left the restaurant saddened by my first supposedly French experience. If I could, I would give it a 3.5.

Friend and I came here for dinner during Restaurant Week. Nice seating outdoors — small but I preferred this to the interior setup, which was surprisingly(as many have commented) more casual than expected. Service was great and dishes came out with pace. TLDR: get the poached egg with mussels. Here’s a breakdown: Appetizers: Œuf de Pêcheur(poached egg, toast, mussels) — egg poached perfectly, seasoning was on point, tarragon sauce was rich and creamy, mussels delicious. Best dish of the night. GETTHIS. I’d love to have it for brunch as an entrée. Terrine de Foie Gras au Poivre(foie gras pâté, grilled peach) — nice chunk of foie gras, smooth, flavored. Entrée: Lapin Rôti à la Moutarde(mustard braised rabbit with taglietelle pasta) — I wasn’t expecting as strong of a mustard taste(my fault), but the meat was tendered and flavored. May be too salty for some people but I love salt. Confit de Canard(duck confit) — nice crisp on the duck, Dessert: Mille Feuille aux Framboises(caramelized puff pastry, raspberries, pastry cream) — despite being neither a dessert nor raspberry person, I really enjoyed this! It was the perfect balance of sweet and tart, pastry was flaky and caramelized nicely. Verrine de Myrtille et Citron(lemon curd, almond cake, blueberries) — friend got this and it was too tart for me personally; refreshing but would pass.

Tried this place with my husband for restaurant week and we thought it was really good! First course: Œuf de Pêcheur — I loved this! It had a poached egg on top of toast with a delicious cream sauce. There were 3 mussels in the shell and another 6 on top. Escargots à La Bourguignonne — My husband got esgargot. It was very garlic/buttery. I had never had esgargot before so not sure how it compares to other places. Main course: Confit de Canard– I got the duck confit and thought it was really good. The skin was nice and crispy. Some bites of the duck seemed slightly dry to me, but all in all a very good dish. Paired nicely with the side of legumes, green beans, and arugula and a lemon-y sauce. Lapin Rôti à la Moutarde — My husband got the rabbit, which I tried a bite. The meat was very tender. It came with a side of pasta. Dessert: Mille Feuille aux Framboises — This dessert was amazing! I’d come back here just to get it again. It had flaky caramelized puff pastry sheets with vanilla cream and raspberries in between. So good!

Came here for Restaurant Week in Center City. They were offering a three course, prix fixe menu for $ 35 which included many items that are on the regular menu so I thought this would be a good opportunity to sample different thing son the menu. Lighting in this restaurant is very dim so pictures didn’t come out great. Atmosphere was great, though. Between my roommate and I, we had seven courses, which included a supplemental side dish. The meal began with a side house-made bread and butter, both which were great. We also had gougères sent out by the kitchen which was a nice touch but were nothing too special. Œuf du Pêcheur — Fisherman’s style poached egg, toast, mussels, tarragon cream: arguably the best dish of the night. Tasting the mussel alone with tarragon cream was great but after breaking up the perfectly cooked poached egg and mixing everything together, we were both very impressed. 5⁄5 Escargots à La Bourguignonne — Burgundy snails, garlic herb butter, croutons: I had high expectations for this dish and while it was good, it fell a little short. When I think of eatinting escargots, I think of eating them packed in a shell with a ton of herbs. Here, six(as opposed to the nine normally given) serve it in a little, individual quarter-sized bowl with a ton of butter/oil with very little herb and garlic. The croûton on top of the bowl was a nice touch. 4⁄5 Truite Meunière — Miller-style trout, green beans, fingerling potatoes, lemon brown butter, almonds: the weakest dish of the night. The trout was a little thin and was over-cooked as well. Texturally, it was too dry and lacked the creamy, flaky body that I’m used to. The fingerling potatoes were a nice addition and were on point. The lemon brown butter was good but may have been overly acidic which was fatiguing on the palette. 3⁄5 Confit de Canard Sauce Foie Gras — Duck confit, celeriac, carrots, black currants, foie gras sauce, red wine reduction: The duck confit was cooked very well with a crispy skin, though I would have preferred it a little crispier. Flavors were on point and the sweetness from the currants as well as the carrots mingled favorably with the savoriness of the duck. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any foie gras flavor from the sauce whatsoever, which was disappointing to say the least. 3.5÷5 Gratin de Pâtes Façon — Peggy Macaroni and cheese: The mac and cheese came out piping hot with a crispy exterior. It was exactly what I expected; creamy, luscious, and savory. 4⁄5 Mille Feuille aux Framboises — Caramelized puff pastry, vanilla pastry cream, raspberries: A must get! Everything was on point on this dish. Textural play between the pastry and cream was perfect. The raspberries added a slightly-sour touch to the dish which made it perfect. 5⁄5 Glaces et Sorbets — Daily selection of house-made ice creams and sorbets: I got the sorbet and I made a terrible mistake. Should have stuck to a more traditional french dessert as the three scoops I got were nothing to write home about. I’ll leave it at that. 2⁄5 All in all, there is decent value to be had during Restaurant Week(despite some dishes being a little smaller than usual). Our meal totaled $ 100 for the both of us after tax and tip and most likely would have been around $ 120-$ 130 had it not been for the prix fixe menu. I would most definitely come here again!

Had reservations to this place. Walked in and it was empty. But there was a private party in a private room. Place looks decent. They have a coat check. Pretty cool. Started our order with drinks. Passion green tea. Light aroma and tasted good. My friend got the sparkling lemonade and he said it was«way too sour!» Appetizers: Escargot and Quail. For me the escargot was salty. The quail was great. Well seasoned, accompanied with buttered spinach and some purée. Very tasteful. Presentation was great. Entrée: lamb shank was ok. Well balanced. I sampled this from my friends dish. I had the braised beef. Boy, it was horribly salty. My second bite was my last. Dessert: Chocolate Mousse and Puff Pastry. My Puff Pastry was light, airy and crunch. Perfect combination of cream, fresh raspberry, and crispy pastry. The chocolate mousse was good. Coffee ice cream was strong with a nutty crunch. Good also but very rich. Weird, my tea cup is an illy cup which is itailian café but we were in a French restaurant. Service was good. Every course their was a change in utensil. Second change my fork had some green stuff in between the sides of the fork. I just grabbed another fork from another table. The entrance did have a heavy round curtain to sustain cold air from coming in. I like this. It’s a great idea to keep the breeze from coming in. Hostess was nice. She also coat checked us. This place is on the expensive side. For two we spent $ 140. Just wish my main entrée was not super salty.
