My first Unilocal review! First, let me just say how nice the owners are! After some light conversation we found out that the man behind the counter and his wife are the owners and they’ve been working with jewelry and watches for over 20 years. Just ask for«Seung»(pronounced Sung) and he’ll help you out with a warm smile. You know how small stores are intimidating because you feel this quiet pressure to buy something and the staff are just staring at you? Not the case here! They completely didnt mind us looking around, pressure free, which was a welcome change. They had a lot of interesting items at a reasonable cost– I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the city if I need anything jewelry/watch related.

I came here to get my watch fixed. It wasn’t an easy fix, and the store owner spent a good amount of time trying to fix it before telling me that he had to replace the internal components and that it would take a few days. I paid $ 40+tax to have the movement inside replaced and prepared to come back in a week. In a few days, I received a text from Chestnut Jewelry telling me my watch was fixed and ready for pickup. The text surprised me, but I appreciated their choice of the mode of communication. I texted back, asking what was done on the watch, and they replied. The watch was fine for a few days until I realized that it will occasionally stop and restart, which is really bad because you don’t know whether your watch is telling the correct time. Several times, I will look at my watch and it will be off by half an hour or an hour. I don’t think this is their fault, necessarily. I think it may be time to retire this watch. If I was still in the city, I would take it back to them and have them replace the movement again, but since I’ve moved away, I can no longer hold them accountable. I’m still rating them a 4 for their professionalism and for their timeliness up until the problems arose.

This is my first Unilocal Review. I can’t recommend this store enough! I went in with a broken watch crystal and slight damage to the inside of the the watch. I had been to three other stores and they either told me that it wasn’t worth fixing or that it would take 2 – 3 months. The gentleman over here said it would two weeks to fix, which it did and at half the price of the other stores. Needless to say in thrilled. Also the quality of the work was outstanding. Don’t hesitate to visit with your patronage.

I just got back from a visit. I went to see if I could have a ring re-sized while I waited, as I can’t see parting with my ring for one second! The store that I bought the ring from said that it would take at least 3 weeks to get the ring back. So I Unilocaled Chestnut Jewelry & Accessories and was sold based on the comments. When I told the sales clerk what I wanted to do, he told me that I didn’t want to re-size the ring because it requires a cut and«you don’t want to cut this ring.» And then he recommended a ring guard. Capital idea! I’d totally forgotten about ring guards! And why didn’t the person I spoke with at the store I bought the ring from mention this as an option? I was please with the idea. He installed it in a matter of seconds, I paid and off I went!

I had a metal watch band adjusted here. It cost $ 14. That’s probably a bit much but the staff was very helpful and completed the task promptly. (N.B. Two of the photos [the ones without the store sign visible] are actually for Foreign Bazaar, a couple storefronts down. This is odd because Kimberly P. took all three photos, her review definitely describes Chestnut Jewelry and she has also reviewed Foreign Bazaar. Slight mix-up, it seems. Somebody please fix this.)

This place is heaven for fans of costume jewelry. I mean they have walls and walls of glittering necklaces, huge rings and pins/ornaments. I fancied a necklace that was in the window display so I popped in. The store owner was very nice and accommodating. I did not see much that I liked inside but there was this one WICKED brooch. it was a 3-D spider whose body was made out of black stones and whose bent legs were made out of cubic-zirconium’s. But when I saw the price tag(30 dollars?!) for that little piece, I put it back down. But if you are a jewelry addict and like to spend money, you will love this place.
