Just okay. definitely the best spot I’ve found in the northeast so far but again I’ve only tried 1 other place. This past Friday evening I ordered general tso’s chicken with pork fried rice and instead of the usual boring egg roll, I was able to substitute wonton soup for an additional $.50. This was great for me because I don’t like eggrolls and usually just throw it out. Strangely the general tso’s was VERY sweet even though the menu had it listed as a hot item. It was edible but I wasn’t a fan. I also ordered 4 chicken wings and it pleased me that they were whole wings and not that wing ding foolishness that last place served. I might come back but I’m still on the hunt.

Chicken is rubbery and the wonton soup isn’t any good… it’s not great at all.

«Nothing special» pretty much sums this place up. I have only gotten delivery from them and it’s not bad… but it’s nothing to write home about either. It’s basic Chinese delivery that you’d expect with the same basic prices as anyone else. They did deliver about 20 minutes faster than what they quoted me on the phone and tossed in a free 2 liter soda. I don’t know if this was intentional or just a mistake, but freebies are always nice. Their kung pao chicken is about 70% celery, so if you don’t like celery like me, plan to not be able to eat most of the dish. The chicken and sauce was good, though, and I can vouch for the beef and broccoli not being bad.

The restaurant is very small, more like a take out only. Food was fairly decent compare to everything else in the neighborhood. Their delivery service is fairly slow and they charge extra when you ask for sauce.

Have gotten take out from here a few times. Food is decent, but nothing special. Both times I found it to be fairly bland with the exception of the wonton which was just too salty to even eat. Will not be ordering from here again.

Reasonably decent Chinese takeout place: not too greasy, not too bland, etc. It has all the expected standards and they often throw in some free stuff with my family’s larger orders. Easily one of the better take out places in an area where there’s a bad Chinese place on every corner.

We take out sometimes from here and they are usually very dependable. Most of the time, the food is very tasty. The Moo Chu Chicken we recently purchased had a very fresh taste and was most enjoyable. The dumplings and Beef Lo Mein were enjoyed by my grandson — he usually asks me to order them from here when he comes to visit. The delivery comes quickly and is always hot. However, the last time we ordered Duck from them it came tasteless and dry — this had been the first time we were disappointed.

The actual«restaurant» is very small and very limited seating, more for delivery. You’re better off getting it to go or getting it delivered and eating it in the comfort of your own home. This is another place I passed by for three years or so, but never set foot until recently. As already mentioned, the food is passable. I ordered a beef chow fun. Okay, it’s not the same beef chow fun that I am used to. Typically beef chow fun is chow fun, beef, bean sprouts and maybe snow peas. This place added baby corns, straw mushrooms and some other vegetables that I don’t have a name for. The price for a take out order of beef chow fun was also a bit more(price wise) than I expected. I have seen better chinese restaurants that offer take out and delivery in NYC that are better. If I have to travel at least 75 miles or so to NYC to get chinese food, I will do exactly just that. I did not get a good first impression and not sure if I would give China Gate another chance. Perhaps I’m a tough critic here, but between the restaurant setting and the chow fun not being what I expected, China Gate will tentatively get a rating of 2 stars. If I do give China Gate another chance, I may update my review at a future time. If Chef Gordon Ramsey of Hell’s Kitchen ever showed up at China Gate, he’ll probably say«Get out of my kitchen» or «Get the food out of my face.» Perhaps China Gate can be a stop for Chef Gordon Ramsey and appear on Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares.

I order deliveries from China Gate every so often, more because the staff is friendly and their delivery is fast(they’re about a block and a half from me — I’m just too lazy to go out and pick up the food) than because of the food quality. It’s passable. Decent Chinese food, but not the best I’ve ever had. Some days, the food tastes better than others. But they’ve got good coupons and stuff, though, and their prices are really cheap.
