This location has closed. If anyone knows where Ashley went, let me know. I love her hair cuts.

Service was much better than most walk-in hair salons. I got a great cut… maybe cut a little too short but I was very happy with it

Absolute garbage. I have the most basic haircut and this woman managed to *&^% it up. Did not ask how I wanted my hair cut other than what size clippers on the sides, proceeds to jump right in and chop off more sideburns than I even have. Overall cut is uneven. If you make the mistake of going here, do yourself a favor and figure out what stylist does the best terrible job and make an appointment with them.

Not a bad place to get your hair done. I would reccommend Ashley over any of them but I am just very picky about my hair. I expect certain things to be done and I like certain places. I’ll stay local next time instead of coming all this way for a decent job.

I have always been extremely happy with my haircuts from the Chop Shop on Main Street in Manayunk. I see whoever has availability, which has usually been the blonde stylist, Ashley. She is personable, and always does a bang-up job. Johnny Valentine was my stylist this last time around, and he is AWESOME! He’s got a great personality… he talks to you just enough but not too much… he gave me a haircut that was exactly what I wanted, and you can tell he really takes the time to make sure your new do is the best he can deliver. The entire staff is very talented, but I’ll definitely be making an appointment with him from now on! Johnny did real good!!!

Like most girls, I don’t let my hair do it’s own thing. If I did, it would be a wavy, curly monstrosity. I spend hours blow-drying and hot-ironing each week to make my hair as straight as possible. But of course, it’s never straight enough. Enter Keratin. I had a coupon for a Keratin express treatment at another salon, however, after seeing results from a full-on treatment on a coworker, I was sold. I had to get a full-on Keratin treatment with Johnny Valentine. I gave him a call and got an appointment. It took four hours — starting with putting the chemicals on my dry hair, then washing it off, a flat-iron to seal it in, a conditioning treatment, a blow dry and another flat iron treatment. I am absolutely ecstatic with the results. My hair hangs down like one of those people with naturally straight hair. Apparently, I don’t even have to blow it dry, it should stay pretty straight on its own. While I was getting my treatment, Johnny filled my head with knowledge about the do’s and don’t’s of caring for your hair. I learned that I was using a conditioner with wax(yikes) which was weighing down my hair. I’m absolutely going to schedule another appointment with Johnny in the future. Got to keep this straight look going!

It only takes one bad hair cut… I asked for a trim and the women took three inches off !!! I asked for a scissor cut and got a razor cut. I ask them to leave it long in the front, they cut it so now I have one inch bangs. I asked for no product in my hair, they put it in anyway. What can I say. It happened so fast I didn’t have a chance to stop her. I felt like I went to an old timer barber and ask for a trim and he turns around and gives you the same cut he give everyone. A buzz cut. Never again!

This will get 2 stars only because my experience with this establishment is based on a single visit: I won’t go back. It was empty, and I was made to wait while a «stylist» finished a text conversation. Then when she did take me, I got the impression that she was annoyed that I had interrupted. She did not talk, and rushed through the haircut in 10 min leaving me look like I was attacked by a weed wacker. I guess you get what you pay for…

Johnny Valentine has been my stylist for over a year and I am so indebted to him for being so competent, professional and accommodating as my hairstylist. I am a former cosmetologist, and with my insane schedule, I don’t have the time to deal with divas and wannabe stylists who don’t have the knowledge, experience and creativity to work with my hair. From my first consultation with Johnny, he made me feel at ease and delivered exactly what I wanted. My hair has been blonde, brown and many shades and lengths in between– and I get nothing but compliments and stares. He’s one of kind and truly gifted at what he does!!! He definitely gets my vote and recommendation for anyone that’s looking for reliable, friendly, consistent, and beautiful results!

Save your $ 10! When I got home I realized one side was cut shorter than the other. The next day, my daughter went and Margoli screwed up her hair unbelieveably! My daughter was freaking and thought she smelled liquor on the stylist’s breath. I went back the next day to have her match my right side to the left, now this has left me with a whole awlful haircut. Its NOT worth trying to save a buck by going there. PS…BRINGCASH. They do not accept credit or debit cards. They have an ATM but it charges you to use it.

I popped into this new Chop Shop one day after work. I was in desperate need of a new cut, and I figured for $ 10 anything would be good. A friend had a previous bad experience with the shop on South Street, but I was feeling risky. The shop was dead, so I was seen right away. The stylist who did my cut was Magoli. She was very friendly and thoroughly went over what I wanted. She asked about my normal styling methods and definitely took that into consideration before starting the cut. She was quick, but not careless. She didn’t talk to much(which I love), but she was still very friendly. The only thing I didn’t like is that she didn’t show me the back of the cut when she was done, but that might have been because two other girls walked in and distracted her. Not sure, but really not a biggie. She told me that the $ 10 was just a promo for their Grand Opening, and the cuts would be $ 20 in the future. I don’t think I’ll go back for that reason, because if I’m going to spend $ 20 I might as well spend $ 45 at a salon where I can expect a little bit more. All in all I am happy and have received a lot of compliments on the new ‘do.
