They have good selections of pretty much anything. Nice knowledgeable staff .I forgot my wallet with lots of cash in it over the store’s counter. I came back to pick it up nothing was missing. First buy at the older store in 1994.

My first trip to Cinitiolis was back in 1989. I was a Senior in High School, we were starting our own band and needed a PA system. We were referred by a friend’s father that had been a loyal customer. We were treated great, and not over sold. When I returned as an adult to purchase a simple non-powered mixer, the scene was totally different. It seemed much more like a junk shop where washed up cover band leaders go to reminisce about the 1980’s and try to trade in their Peavey speakers with the gray carpet finish. Benny is the star of the show and I love that. He’s got tons of character but he is as much of a Used Car salesman as you can get. I took a small«hot spot» monitor there to be serviced. It didn’t work when I got it back and was told by the guy at the cash register that I didn’t know how to use it… In fact, I knew how to use it — the thing was still broken. The same guy at the register is the reason that I will never return to Cintitolis. His personality is that of a dying house plant. He tries to be «funny» when he’s really not, he’s kind of a dick in reality. Only go here if you’re down on your luck and need to buy second hand gear for that 6th attempt at stardom.

note the listed address is incorrect, the actual address is 7952 Oxford Ave Finally found the place. I’ve been looking for a place like this for some time, independent store with a nice random collection of mostly guitars and basses, the impressive walls of rack gear, amps, soundboards, accordians, Most of the instruments are entry to mid-level with a handful of high-end gear. It’s cool to see a variety. Looks like they get a good turnover so i’ll be coming back periodically. The guys in the shop are jovial and I felt confortable when i first walked in. I didn’t buy anything this time but my friend did.

Ok, I have been going here for years now. Whats not to like about Benni. Yes they are rude but thats the charm of this place. If you want a deal and know what your looking for and dont want to buy something like a guitar off the internet then you must see Benni, i have bought keyboards and keyboard cases along with drum machines and mixers from this place. I still think they are number 1 and will be bringing my guitar in for some work soon.

Combine Kafke, Woody Allan, Ai Martino, and half of the Goodfellas, shake, add a bit of Bob Barker, the crew from the Star Wars Bar, stir, swallow quickly and you will begin to experience what it’s like to walk into Cintioli’s…this isn’t a music store, it’s a panacea for the real world it’s just great(unless you happen to be an emplyoyee) An escape to a different world than any you’ve ever been to… just go! Oh yeah, and also, feel the love! Dr.Dave(he’s a doctor, crazy Dave, a crazy doctor)

I’ve been coming here for over 15 years! I bought my first guitar amp here and my first classical acoustic guitar here. My friends have bought guitars here as well. Still a great shop with many guitars and great deals. I still bring my guitars here to get setup.

Whether you’re coming from Center City or the suburbs, it’s worth the short ride down to Cintioli Music. Best deals in the city, with a super-knowledgeable staff. When I think about it, I can’t remember any other independent music stores in Philadelphia with this much inventory. Great selection of used stuff as well. So why buy from an independent music store? Well, at Cintioli wheeling and dealing is still very much a living practice, so if you know what you want and what it’s worth, you can really get a great price from the aging Italian who owns the place, Benny Cintioli, who can definitely afford to drop a few bills off the price if he likes you — at places like Guitar Center and Sam Ash, the salesmen couldn’t do this if they wanted to. I always bring stuff to trade, as well; I always seem to get what I think it’s worth.
