I have a couple of complicated problems to solve restoring a 1940 vintage urinal. Replacement parts don’t exits. Alternative parts don’t fit. This store was a gold-mine for experience and suggestions. The owner spent 20 minutes listening to me and helping me craft solutions to the problems I was having using a ton of experience, and boxes of bits and pieces. Friendly, generous with time, knowledgeable are the words I would describe him. Chock-a-block with items, old-timey, rustic are the words I would use to describe the store. The neighborhood ain’t great but it ain’t a nightmare. You can’t miss the place… a woinderful Tin Man of galvanized stove stove parts stands outside the front door. They have everything… run don’t walk and step back into 100 years of hardware history. The current owner has been there 22 years, the previous one 33, and the one before that another 30 or so. Right on!
