Great sushi and good price. The fish is always fresh, the presentation is impeccable. I continue to come here even though there are 5 other sushi places between where I live and Crazy sushi. The sashimi combo is my favorite and miso soup.

Found a fish scale in my spicy tuna roll and a small piece of black plastic. Not quite sure how that got in there and I don’t really want to know. I don’t think I’ll be going back there…

Went to this place with a coworker 2 days ago… very impressed by the sushi there because they are very freshly made with good variety. They have good price for lunch special — $ 13 for 3 rolls and $ 9 for 2 rolls… however, the portion is a bit small for those non-special sushies. I will go back again for sure…

Let me begin by saying the sushi here is good. Very tasty, huge selection. My issue with Crazy Sushi is how I was treated when I went here with a friend. We made a reservation for 7:30 on a Friday for two. It was pretty rowdy, with a birthday party and bachelorette dinner happening. Our food came fast, and was delicious. But from the moment we sat down we were rushed. It took us a while to choose what we wanted, both because we were chatting and because of the huge selection. Within 10 minutes of choosing, the waitress came up to us three times. It is BYOB, so we brought a bottle of wine. Too bad — didn’t have time to have more than one glass. When we finished eating(about 8pm — yes, I checked), they put the check down. We were catching up and drinking, and every few minutes someone came over to take the payment, but we weren’t ready yet. At 8:15 they told us that we must leave because they have a party coming. Okay, that’s cool and all, but then do not give us a reservation. I don’t think at least an hour to eat dinner is asking for much. Food was a 5 star rating, service was 0.

Came in for lunch and had their 3-roll lunch special for $ 13. This also comes with a choice of soup or salad(I went for the salad). I also ordered the yellowtail/scallion, eel/cucumber, and red snapper rolls. The red snapper and yellowtail were very good, with lots of fish. However, there was just something missing from all three rolls. Maybe it’s because I really enjoy the bigger rolls with lots of fish combinations. But, these were good enough that I will definitely come back for dinner one night to try their specialty rolls.

I ate here alone on a Thursday night. It is a small place but they were able to seat me right away. I started with a vampire bowl which I was really excited to try because I love tuna tar tar. It did not disappoint. It was a tuna tar tar fried in tempura with avocado and a sauce on top of some greens. I thought it was overall pretty light and delicious. While this is not the best sushi I have ever had I thought that the ingredients tasted fresh. It was disappointing to see that just about all of their specialty rolls have«crunchy» in them. I tend to think that at takes away from the flavor and adds a strange texture but maybe some people love it. Who knows. Anyway, I ordered two rolls off of their specialty roll menu– the Sakura roll and the one night stand roll. The«house sauce» on the Sakura roll was basically a Thai red chili sauce which sort of disappointed me because I don’t really care for that. I was able to scrap most of it off but this was my least favorite out of the two. The one night stand roll does not have any rice and is wrapped in fish. I thought it was pretty tasty. I’m not sure what the sauce on top was. The service was really fast I had a table full of food before I could finish my appetizer. I was right next to the entrance and noticed that about 6 people came in to pick up to go orders while I was there so this must be a good place if you are looking for food to take home.

This is a great place to get sushi for lunch. Their lunch specials put it among the best bang for your buck sushi in the immediate area. The sushi isn’t earth shattering but it’s definitely good enough. They can get very busy at lunchtime so go early and call in your takeout orders!

This review is based on their lunch special sushi deal. While is IS a great ‘deal’, as the old adage says: you get what you pay for. Three rolls plus soup or salad for $ 12.00, sounds good right? Well it is except they skimp on the fish and the rolls are on the small side. The sushi is still tasty, which keeps me coming back, but sometimes I wonder just how much of a ‘deal’ I’m getting. I have ordered take out from here numerous times because I like the deal and in a crunch sushi craving, it fits the bill. However, they aren’t consistent. Sometimes the rolls are prepared perfectly with enough fish to not make you question why you ordered from here, and other times, my roll is falling apart and I’m wondering how my Alaskan roll found its way to me sans salmon. Did I order a veggie roll? No. Just have to «Where’s Waldo» your salmon sometimes? Gotcha. Lastly, delivery has taken upwards of an hour sometimes during lunch rushes. Make sure you eat a granola bar before you order. I won’t two star them because the fish is still fresh and is satisfying, but had to three star because there are so many sushi spots in the area that deserve the 4 and 5 star spots.

This place has some of the best sushi I’ve had in the city, hands down. I’ve been on the hunt for the best sushi in philly and this one may be it. The service is great. Super friendly staff, great lunch specials as well. My schedule is off a lot of days so my lunches can start late but this restaurant stays open all day which I like. Many other spots close after lunch and don’t open again until 5 or 530 for dinner. Overall, great food, great staff, nice environment! Recommended

Perhaps the busiest sushi joint around the area during lunch time. Upon walking in, we let the lady at the counter know that we had a reservation and she sat us at the first table right next to the door and wall. The tables were so cramped together to the point where we couldn’t even get into the booth without shoving our behind on our neighbor’s food.(And there were still tables available in the back too). We asked the lady if we could switch to another table, and she rudely asked why. Why? Well. we made a reservation and you gave us the tightest and the most uncomfortable seat? The food were subpar. For appetizers we had the gyoza and fried squid legs. The gyoza tasted good for the first bite, but it was cold in the middle. And the squid legs had no flavor and the breading was doughy rather than crunchy. Their lunch special with 3 rolls for 13 $ was a good deal, but their sushi is mediocre. It really amazed me how a simple roll like Eel Avocado can NOT taste good. The Sakura Roll came with a lot sweet and sour sauce on top of the spicy salmon. It was a bit odd for me, but if you’re a fan of sweet and sour then it’s the roll for you!

My favorite sushi restaurant in the city! Their sushi rolls are unique and delicious, and I really like that they’re BYO. The presentation(when you dine in) is always beautiful– you almost don’t want to touch it! Cons: It can get very loud inside, especially when there are large groups of people(usually drinking liquor), and for whatever reason the staff always seems to try to rush you in and out(even when it is empty inside).

Stardate 3÷26÷16: Damn, I was coming in hot this evening. The first drop(s) of liquor to touch the lips of yours truly in a matter of weeks, coupled with the typical disagreement between biological siblings made for certain dispositions. Nevertheless, as has been the on-going trend for the past 28-ish years(to date), amiable accords were able to be reached due to steady lines of communication(albeit at the expense of my ego and mental energies). So, as one may imagine, I was pretty hungry upon walking in. My friend had selected the spot that evening. Initial plans were for a BYOBAYCE sushi venture in Jersey… but then we realized, we’d have to go to Jersey for that. While this place wasn’t AYCE, it did allow us to still bring our own booze while partaking in the consumption of raw fish products. The joint certainly utilizes the real estate to its max capacity. At 8:30 pm, the place was packed to the gills, and there wasn’t exactly an abundance of room between tables. It was loud, and attended by a relatively young(and Anglo-Saxon heavy) crowd. Thankfully we had reservations, as there would very likely have been a lengthy wait time. I was able to try some of the sushi offerings purchased by my friends. They were pretty good, and nicely arranged. However, for the life of me, could not remember what types of rolls that they did in fact order. And while their food was relatively tasty, I made the dubious decision to get the katsudon available here. I know that sushi is Japanese food, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that a sushi joint would make other Japanese food well. The katsudon offered here conssted of a lean and thin de-boned pork chop, breaded in panko, and made soggy with the katsudon sauce. The sogginess is fine(and pretty much expected in this dish)… but there was no extra sauce in the dish, and the lack of use of onion as the vehicle/sponge for the extra sauce made me miss the sauce even more; I thought maybe it was absorbed by the bed of rice at the bottom… but not very much was, instead it was all in the breading of the katsu. The egg should have been the savior to the sauce issue, but it was cooked a bit too long, and instead of being a weird saucy poached egg, it was a firm/overcooked egg thing. The weirdest thing with my dish though was the addition of baby corn and steamed broccoli under the katsu; two things that I love, but two very questionable additions to what should have been a simple and tasty dish. Place made for just an okay experience, but I am definitely in no rush to come back here any time soon(and your lunch deals won’t save you, unless you delivered to NYC, in less than 30 min… which I find a highly unlikely prospect).

This place had an overload of menu options, and some Asian confusion as they were serving pad thai in a sushi restaurant. The seaweed salad had a great flavor and bite to it, but it was definitely overpriced at $ 6. The One Night Stand roll was not bad, but I didn’t understand what all the rave was about in the Unilocal reviews. It’s good, but nothing special. My friend said it was just popular for first dates when people were just trying to hint at what they wanted after diner. I also thought it was excessive to put an electronic light on the plate for decorative purposes.

One wintry evening, I was craving sushi, but didn’t want to brave the cold. I was able to easily order from Crazy Sushi via Eat24 and was very pleased with the amount and quality of the fish in the Chirashi that was delivered to my door. I had a choice of a side and picked the salad, which didn’t look that exciting — but since I failed to actually try it, I can’t speak to that. It can be tough to find reasonably priced, good quality sushi that can be delivered… Crazy Sushi is a great option when you want to enjoy sushi in your PJs.

I had a craving for some sushi and searched for close pick up places. I saw the positive reviews on Unilocal!and decided to give Crazy Sushi a try. I tried three different options over two days and I am sad to say the sushi was no better than an option from a super market. There was nothing«crazy» about the sushi. Great décor, staff seems nice and the lunch special is a great deal but its not knock your socks off. Also, the miso soup is a huge«no no». I have had miso before and it definitely was a miss. I could not even finish it.

I don’t think I have ever gotten up and walked out of a restaurant before but today I did. It’s sad because I have eaten here a number of times before and the sushi is a very good. It is actually one of our go-to places for lunch near our office. Today, my group was ignored for 25 minutes. We walked in, were seated, given water and menus. Everyone had made their choices and we were waiting for someone to take our orders. About 15 minutes passed and the waitress took the orders of other tables near us but never stopped by. We had all finished our water by now and didn’t even get a refill. Finally, the waitress looked at us as she walked by and said«next!.» She then proceeded to deliver food to two other tables and take two other orders. We tried flagging the host down as he walked by but he looked away and hurried past. We trying asking another waiter but before we could say anything, he *grunted* at us and walked away. At that point, we got up and left. As we were leaving, another table asked us how long we had been waiting. We told them 25 minutes and they said they were leaving right behind us for the same reason. I understand that if the staff was short-handed or, if they were busy, that service may be slow. That doesn’t bother me. It is being treated rudely as is if we are an inconvenience to the staff that really upsets me. We won’t be going back here.

My coworkers and I decided to order here for dinner one night because we were all in the office late. So glad we picked this spot. Delivery was extremely fast(quoted 30 – 40 min online, but it arrived within 20). The food was also pretty good. I can’t wait to actually try this place while dining there. Age tofu — it was still warm when it arrived. Tad mushy but I kinda expected that since we ordered to go. Kani salad — very good flavor, but a tad too creamy. I would still order it again though. Crazy sushi roll– this was so good! The shrimp was nice and crispy and the roll itself was huge! It did not disappoint at all. I was only able to finish half and brought the rest home.

Decent sushi restaurant. I love ikura sushi and sashimi so I’m glad this was on the menu. They actually had quite an extensive list of salmon and sashimi options, which is pretty impressive. I split an order or the Chopard(soft shell crab tempura sushi topped with warm crab meat) and the Odessa(raw tuna and cooked eel wrapped in salmon sashimi, riceless) with my friend. GETTHEODESSAIFYOULOVEFISH! I am more of a purist when it comes to sushi so I loved the combination of traditional raw sushi in one deluxe roll. The tuna was very fresh and had minimal fishy smell(which is usually a turnoff for me), the eel was delish, and the raw salmon great. It was like a cross between a rainbow roll and eel roll but without rice. AWESOMENESS! The Chopard was ok. I thought there was too much tempura and not enough crab in the middle. Again, I’m more of a purist and prefer the fresh clean taste of raw fish over the mixture of sauces. But given the prices and wonderful service, I would say this is a solid sushi addition to Philly.

I was lured into this spot because of the fantastic reviews. As always, fellow Unilocalers have it right– it did not disappoint! Crazy sushi is a nice little spot, close to Love Park and all the tourist attractions in Philly. The service is fast and their dish presentation is superb. I went for their AK-47 and their New York roll and they were delicious. A mixture of salmon, shrimp tempura and spicy kani, the rolls were super savory. It’s also a BYOB so bring in the wine and enjoy! :)

Decent sushi at a decent price. Presentations are elaborate and cute. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated but the narrow brick walls really trap the noise and it does feel a bit claustrophobic. We went with a baby and were a little out of place. It was mainly young 20 somethings on dates and corporate businessmen and women in suits on a Wednesday night. Service was efficient and pleasant given the shear volume of people they were serving. Overall a satisfying meal and a reasonable price. Excellent turnover of sushi keeps everything very fresh.
