I’ve only been to the bar part of Dahlak three or four times, and have not been to the restaurant, but I’m a huge fan of what I’ve seen. It’s a tiny little bar with a few TVs, it’s quite dive-y, it has my favorite nudie picture game(super fun to play while getting hammered on cheap beers), the crowd seems like a lot of regulars, the bartenders are very friendly and attentive, the music I’ve heard while there is AWESOME, and Yuenglings are $ 3. Go, team, go. I’ll be here, frequently.

I love this place. I love the spongy bread that the food is served on. I love eating with my hands. I love the straw tables, the dive bar in the back, and the backyard patio. The lamb cooked in berber sauce is soo delicious and spicy(could probably be even spicier for my taste). The potato salad with green chilis was also quite tasty. I did however find a hair in my stuffed jalapeño, but whatever, I’m willing to overlook that. The service is great, the food is good, and occasionally mistakes happen.

They r really nice there and I happen to like the food because they make it how I want it. I always ask for it to be super spicy which it is and that gives it a good flavor that I love. And they remember how I like it even though I go there sporadically. From what I recall the naan was good which for me is a big deal

I have heard about Dahlak many times from friends who have lived in the Philadelphia area. Dahlak has two establishments. This one seems like a sister establishment of the one in Baltimore Pike. The restaurant is tucked away in a corner of Germantown. The restaurant seems to be run jointly by an Indian and Ethiopian management now. The menu is predominantly Indian with a page of Ethiopian food. The food was average at best. The injeras were good but the doro wat, and the lentils definitely lacked in flavor. I haven’t tried the Dahlak at Baltimore Pike, but my suggestion would be to try that first before wandering into this.
