Dati’s is always the best place to go and get water ice in the South Philly area. I have been there numerous times throughout the summer and they haven’t disappointed me at all. Their water ice is always tasty and they have a wide selection to make everyone happy. The staff are always pleasant and upbeat. This is definitely someplace that you should try if you haven’t already! You won’t be sorry!

I’ve been coming to dati’s since i was a little girl. My great aunt would take me and we would sit on their green benchs they use to have out there and eat pizza pretzels. They are so friendly and satisfy quirky request(my chocolate water ice with chocolate chips). The hand dipped ice cread is so good and i love it on top of the waffle with whipped cream. You just dont get any better than this when it comes to old fashioned places that keep up with modern-day flavor.

This place is kind of out of the way if you’re in center city but it’s worth the drive. They have home made ice cream and lots of other treats like frozen milky ways and pretzel pizza. The ice cream was delicious and the service was great. The man that served us seemed to really take pride in the products they serve. They also have frozen banana ice cream I.e. yonanas. Nice for a sweet treat that is also healthy.

This was the first place M ever brought me to for proper Philly water ice. It was where he always went when growing up, and it’s a good choice! My first visit consisted of M telling the woman behind the counter to school me on the pronunciation of «water».(I do not say«wooder», so schooled I was.) The workers here are always really nice and everything is fresh. I’m not a huge fan of water ice and far prefer the ice cream. Therefore, I usually get the banana whip, which is essentially frozen bananas whipped into soft serve. It’s creamy and oh-so-amazing. I’m bummed out that they’re not open year-round, but now that it’s the summer again, I’ll keep going back.

Awesome cookies and cream ice cream, awesome pretzel cone. I’ve never had a pretzel cone before so I decided to get it. It added a nice crunchy, salty touch to it that complimented the ice cream. The only problem I had with it was that the bottom of the cone had too much pretzel to ice cream ratio so it wasn’t as satisfying of a bite. Still good though; don’t let that stop you from getting it. I also liked how the ice cream itself was homemade so it wasn’t too sweet, unlike manufactured ice cream brands. My friend got a cookie cone, but it didn’t taste like a cookie at all. It was just really crunchy, but no flavor to it at all. Don’t get it. I’m still giving it 5 stars because the ice cream and pretzel cone is good. They should just work on their cookie cone or remove it from their menu.

It’s water ice — not much you can really say about that stuff. Sure, it’s tasty. Of course, they have the other standard sweet, cold treats too. Place is unassuming and cheap. Decent selection of flavors, not too huge. If you’re in the area and up for some cold, sweet goodness, stop by.

Have a yummy cheesesteak at «Philip’s» across the street. Then come here for dessert. Besides offering water ice, they have their own homemade ice cream. For me, their chocolate ice cream really hit the spot. Creamy, thick, yummy. This is premium quality ice cream.

When driving to/from south philly from the Expressway there is a this little corner store that has been there for as long as I can remember and it is excellent. It’s the simple things in life like a vanilla cone, or some water ice or as you would expect to hear in South Philly, «Wooder» Ice. Great selections, ridiculous portions and overall amazing experience. If you can find parking and need a sugar fix… stop immediately.

This is a local water ice stand that has not changed much. It’s been 17 years and the water ice and ice creams still taste the same. The best in South Philly. The prices are reasonable good. A must try would be the waffle sunday. Yum! The staff there are super nice and fast. They already know what I want when I get there. lol. I would highly recommend everyone try this places vs. franchises…

This place is so good! Homemade water ice! You can definitely taste the difference in how sweet it is and the smooth texture. It is richer than ice cream and churned to perfection. I got the regular chocolate and that was enough to put my sweet tooth to rest for a long while. Italian homemade water ice? Doesnt get any better than this in the illadelph.
