I have had the pleasure of working with Dave for almost 4 years now, helping me in and out of two apartments. Unlike other realtors I’ve worked with, Dave has always been available, whether via email, phone or text. If there is an emergency or I just have a quick question, he responds ASAP. He is very easy to work with and seems to have a good relationship with the owners he deals with.
I have recommended him to friends in the Philadelphia area and will continue to do so.

I have worked with Dave on two real estate transactions. Buying and selling. We bought 3 years ago and really had no idea what to expect when buying a house in the city. David showed us a few houses until he learned a bit about us. Once he learned what we were looking for he focused on houses that met our requirements and were within budget. When we found the perfect house he was there to answer the many questions we had and helped guide us through the purchasing process. He made it painless. Could not have asked for an easier transaction.
Fast forward to September 2015. It came time to sell our perfect house. I interviewed a couple of agents and went with David for a couple of reasons — he knew our house and he knows the neighborhood — Fairmount/​Art Museum. And I’m couldn’t be more pleased with the results. David did a walk through from a buyers perspective giving us great feedback to prepare the house for sale and took care of all the arrangements to market our home. The house went up at 11 am on Monday, first showing was that afternoon and we had an offer on Saturday. The house sold in less than a week! Like our buying experience, selling was painless which I can only contribute to David. David handle every aspect of the sell including representing us at the closing — we moved across the country before our closing date. I think what made this painless was because we had no surprises and that can be contributed to David and his communication. We always knew what was happening where were in the process and what to expect next. David: Thank you!
I will also add that in the years between buying and selling, on several occasions I contacted David with questions — he was under on obligation to answer but always responded quickly — usually within a couple of hours.
If we ever move back to Philadelphia and buy again, David will be the realtor I call.

Dave has worked with us on 3 different real estate transactions. We originally met him at an open house. We had been to a number of open houses, trying to decide exactly where we wanted to live in Philly. He was the only realtor who seemed to understand what we were looking for & was always there for us. He could be counted on to line up several houses for us, sometimes with very little notice… always without a hard-​sell approach. He has a good understanding of the different neighborhoods in Philly & was always very informative. After our first purchase, we stayed with him through 2 more transactions because of the excellent service he provided us. We expect to use him again in the future. And we highly recommend him.

Yes, I am David Gower’s wife which means I am also the one sitting next to him when he receives calls/​text all hours from tenants from properties he manages. Note: these are who the only negative reviews are from. NOT from the countless happy clients who Dave has helped find to find their dream homes. These tenants are usually making absurd calls/​text wanting something so small as toilet seat or the little screw cover behind the toilet replaced. True story. A grown man very possibly the one who left a nasty review but who is too much of a coward to leave his real name or picture calls another man to replace his toilet seat and be reimbursed for it to boot. Seriously! Um, hello, Home Depot. $ 20. Wow. Man up, dude. It’s so laughable. I have lived in the city and had been a renter for years. Even as a girl, I had never called a landlord for such frivolous, tedious things these clients have. It’s mind boggling. The other girl who left a nasty review was pissed because she forgot to turn off her utilities when she moved out and got upset when she was forwarded a bill after she had already moved. Hello people! Wow! So before you go and listen to «THESE» types of people, do yourself a favor and check these people. They either have no reviews or all negative so clearly they are very hard to please spoiled brats who have never lived on their own before and expect Dave to jump at every tiny little thing, which he normally does but some requests are so a insulted bizarre. Dave already has two kids, he doesn’t need to babysit anyone else. I know first hand how many times he has run out immediately to tenants with REAL issues. He will always be there for walk throughs and helps with move in days. And that’s just for rentals. Let’s not even talk about the countless hours he spends with clients both in the city and any suburban area outside of Philly even far in Pennsylvania helping them find their dream home. He takes pride in finding deserving, couples their first homes or settling in new ones as their family grows. Ask anyone who actual knows Dave as a person will tell you he is the most lovable, kind, hardworking man. And that I can assure you is what is true.

Dave helped us buy and sell one property, and helped us buy another. He was a pleasure to work with. Always returns calls. Hard working. Sensible. Smart. Motivated. I can’t imagine selecting another realtor if I were to need to buy or sell more property.

The only positive review is by his wife. I know it’s her because she messaged me asking me to retract my review.

Can you give someone no stars? Dave started out as a reliable, hard working property manager. That changed quickly. I won’t give the whole laundry list of complaints, but his follow through was very poor and work did not get done in a proper or timely manner. I was at first relieved when he came on board as a manager because our landlord lived out of state and was unreachable. In the end, it wasn’t much better to go from that situation to having Dave as a property manager. And if he says he will transfer utilities into the manangement company after you have moved out, don’t believe it. Instead, prepare to pay at least a month of the new tenants bills until you realize what has happened. And then expect that he will offer to pay, and then will stop communicating with you and you will never receive payment. Also if he tells you he will get work done in your apartment, and is
«really close to pulling the trigger» don’t expect it will actually get done. It also appears that the only review was written by his wife.
