I’m not a nerd in the conventional sense. I actually cringe when I hear things like «programming» and «gaming» but I swear I had a BALL at Devnuts. I went here for a Halloween Party/​Vintage Video game night and I played video games for 3 hours straight. Judging by the pictures on the website, they completely transformed the space that night so that it had a dance floor, game space, and a DJ area. The location is great, the lighting was perfect for both dancing and gaming and the facilities were modern. I took one star away because there were no paper towels in the bathroom and there was barely any soap.

Nerd heaven. Lots of guys not a lot of gals. This is for PC gamers and developers only not for the console driven community. That’s a bummer. It’s cool to watch Counterstrike Tournaments there, but some of the paid events for PC gamers are a bit beyond me since I don’t have a PC rig. It’s definitely a bit of nerd heaven in Fishtown.

You must be ready to jump in and just code. That’s the way I’ve always been and that’s the only reason I survived my Statistics intern: being ready to just do my best with R programming, until I burn out and fry like a over-​toasted pancake. Gotta learn to swim in deep water before you can enjoy the shallow waters, ironic as it sounds. By the way, I have zero background in computers, programming, coding! hahaha. Wish me luck. Transforming into a girl geek. I’ve never been able to sit still. Until now…
