Eppie’s Tire Service

I never had an issue with the service here (other than maybe relatively long waits). They’ve always been courteous to me, neighborhood-​friendly, and got the job done. Jay, Scott and Kent are nice guys. Sometimes Jay and Scott have their moments (quarreling brothers), but it is an entertaining free show when they bicker with one another. During such moments, they should offer some popcorn. :D

I was in a shoddy part of town, and hit a square pothole HARD, going at almost full speed. Both my left rims were bent, and I had to get towed.
The next day I was referred to Eppie’s Tires. Yeah they were kinda brusque, but I think that’s just the «standard» East Coast attitude: direct, outspoken, slightly unprofessional, with no pretense of unnecessary «niceness». They way they bicker, you can tell they’re more of a family than a «corporation» per se. They repaired my wheels/​rims at a reasonable price.
I waited two weeks to write this review, just to see if my tires were messed up. They seem OK. It sure beats having to replace all my tires. At least I can put that off for now.
UPDATE:
Some weeks later, one of the bad tires developed a leak. I limped back to Eppie’s and explained. I had to wait a very long time due to their backlog, but they fixed that tire at no cost to me. I wish I could add a half-​star to make it a 4.5-star review.

Near work had a bubble on tire was looking for a used tire did not have my size I thought a little pricey for a used tire did not know without actually seeing the tire might consider using them in the future if in the neighborhood

Reasonable prices and fast service. You always know what you’re gonna get here. Thanks to Jay and Kent for working with me.

Wish zero stars was an option. Horrible service. Their so called mechanics don’t even know how to install a spare tire properly only to scratch it up and say it was already there. After I showed them how to do it basically installed it myself, actually had the nerve to charge me labor. Buyers beware

I went there due to a nail in one of my tires.
I had bought my tires there a year ago so I figured it would be an easy inexpensive fix.
The whole crew was sitting around debating lunch and after a few minutes they asked what I needed.
The worker came and fixed my tire with a patch quickly. It only took him 10 minutes.
Then I waited for the owner to come out an tell me it was a $ 30.00 fix
I won’t be back to buy tires from them anymore

I just wanted to say thank you to Jay & his team. I was at my mechanic, All Pro Auto, earlier in the morning who recommended replacing all 4 of my tires for one tire that had a leaking plug, at the cost of $ 150-​$ 260/​tire, + labor (nearly a thousand + dollars). All Pro said that they couldn’t repair the plug. I wanted a 2^nd opinion, so I googled tires in my phone & I came across Eppies. I called Eppies & spoke with Jay. He said that they could look at my car. His mechanic looked at the tire & was able to repair the tire with 2 patches for $ 43. They also checked my other tires for me. It all took about an hour. I want to thank them for their honesty & I plan on coming back for future car service needs.

Jay and Scott really know their tire business. They replaced 2 tires at half the cost of my car dealers service center and these tires are wearing just as good if not better. I scheduled an appointment, they had my tires ready and rotated and installed in a timely manor. I highly recommend them.

A BIG Thanks to Jay @ Eppie’s Discount Tire Service on Bustleton Ave in Philadelphia for taking care of me. I discovered last night I had a «Mayblow» in the back and I needed to get some shoes for my ride ASAP.
I didn’t have alot of money to spend, but I got some good used tires put on in less than 30 minutes. He gave me a decent price for two 18″ tires that had good tread on them, and I told him I just didn’t have (that much) money today. He gave me a break and I’m driving a lot safer because of it.
Thanks again for giving me a better-​than-​honest deal. Not too many tire shops like this out there today.
If you’re in Philly and you need some used tires, go and see Jay, tell him «Lou sent me» and he’ll take care of you. If you’re a big baller and you’re going to do it right, Eppie’s sells new tires too, good deals.
