Fabriq Spa

i began acupuncture treatment a year ago after being diagnosed with a hypoactive thyroid. This condition drained my energy and, combined with some much needed lifestyle changes, very depressed. I decided to try anything i could to feel better, and acupuncture was top of the list. I’m so happy to report how strong of a catalyst acupuncture has been in my quest for well being! Not only have i been placed on the lowest possible hormone dose, but my thyroid isn’t even an issue anymore! Ive since utilized acupuncture for treatment of so many situations from headaches, to diarrhea to PMS… PMS that has plagued me since puberty. It is nearly non existent now! My current treatment focus is on energy and appetite, and Im losing a little weight all the time. I absolutely love acupuncture and Gabrielle Applebaum of Fabriq Spa.

Whenever I have had my eyebrows shaped — whether by plucking, waxing, threading or a combination — I have never been happy with the results. In fact, the only person I ever trusted is an esthetician at Canyon Ranch, a rather impractical solution since I go there only once a year. Then I discovered Monique at Fabriq Spa! When she is finished, my brows look natural and compliment my face. I am making Monique a monthly habit!

I was referred to Fabriq Spa through my boss! We had Fabriq Spa come to our salon to do a First Friday event, and the employees I met were absolute gems. Nonetheless, I was a little bit nervous booking my appointment today, because finding someone to give a great massage can be a little intimidating. Turns out, I had nothing to be nervous about.
As a hairstylist and cyclist, I find that my back (and legs) live in a constant state of knot-​iness. Drew is a N I N J A. He was able to work out some horrendous knots and kinks in my shoulders, and did these amazing moves that helped relieve a lot of tension in my hamstrings. I could honestly give a step by step of the whole thing, but then I would ruin the excitement for everyone else. Drew was totally charming, and very understanding. I didn’t get scolded or scoffed at for not knowing exactly what kind of massage I needed.
The space itself is beautiful. Very well kept, clean, quant, and has everything you need. Not to mention very serene and peaceful.
I will absolutely be back for more. I left Fabriq feeling like ten pounds had been lifted from my shoulders. You cannot put a price on that.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about fabriq. I have primarily seen Gabrielle for acupuncture and I can honestly say she is amazing. She is very patient, kind and explains what she is doing during her treatments. I originally sought treatment with Gabrielle when I was trying to get pregnant. I received acupuncture pre pregnancy and throughout and believe that Gabrielle’s treatments helped me carry and deliver a beautiful baby. The prices are reasonable and they even offer a discount for 5 packs of pre paid acupuncture!

Fabriq is one of the best places for your salon experience but also a positive and healing place. I arrived originally seeking treatment for carpal tunnel in both arms. A friend recommended acupuncture and my sessions with Gabrielle have been soothing and productive. I am no longer waking in the night from aching pain in my arms. The tingling that originally existed diminished greatly as the sessions continued. Another treat was the Swedish massage by Drew! That day was the day I melted away and from such natural talents! (Melted chocolate comes to mind!) This will be the most rewarding, soothing experience you may ever have.

If you are pregnant, Ana is the BEST masseuse in the City. If you are sore, uncomfortable, have trouble sleeping, she will make you feel infinitely better. Through stretching, deep tissue massage, pressure point massage, etc., she will have you walking much better right away. I used to go to her at Terme Di Aroma and said I could never get pregnant again without her help. And then she left and I had no idea where she went. I was randomly googling organic spas in Philly to try and find somewhere to go and get a facial and a massage and randomly clicked on practitioners and found her at my 36^th week. It was a godsend.
The studio is very cute, the facial I got there with Monique was great and she didn’t try to push any products on me or tell me I was destroying my skin (to push product on me). The massage room in the basement is fantastic – made me feel a little on vacation honestly. Parking is very easy during the day by being just South of Bainbridge – I always found non-​metered parking. I will definitely be back – although I’m totally done being pregnant!

I wish that I could rate the massage and facial separately. I booked the package. Anna, the massage therapist was very good. She was a little rushed, but she focused on my trouble spots and overall did a very good job. My esthetician on the other hand was terrible. She barely touched my skin and she did not do anything that I couldn’t do at home. In fact, she obviously didn’t read my registration card. I asked for more information on products and skin care feedback and was prepared to spend up to an additional $ 150 but she NEVER said a word to me during the entire facial. Not sure why I even completed the form. Oh well, Fabriq missed out on some additional sales. I won’t be back unless it is just for a massage.

A few months ago, as the weather began to get nicer, I saw on Facebook that Drew, one of Fabriq’s massage therapists, was offering complimentary chair massages outside the shop to welcome the Spring weather, and I was super happy to have taken him up on that! Jump ahead to a few weeks ago when I stopped in one Monday afternoon to see if there were any appointments available for a lip and brow wax, and even though the next one they had available was an hour from when I stopped in, I put my name in and came back an hour later. I was warmly greeted and offered a cup of tea, which I enjoyed while I filled out my first-​time client paperwork. Then, Eileen, the esthetician who did my waxing, introduced herself and led me back to the waxing room. Her kind nature and bedside manner was immediately apparent, and she was very gentle and skilled. Following the service, she gave me some cold stones to soothe the redness that came as a result of the waxing, which was a very nice plus, and I got to finish the rest of my tea. I had such a great experience that I intend to return to see Eileen (and highly recommend her) for my next wax, and should I treat myself to a future massage, to see Drew!

Best massage I have ever had. Mr drew, he is amazing. A massage magician. He was patient and hilarious, and super talented. The downstairs is amazing, the entire place is beautiful and clean and calming. Amber was awesome and funny and kind. I got a facial from Eileen and it was just great. I learned a lot about skin care, and she was so knowledgable. I made an appointment before I left. I’ll never go anywhere else again.

My fiancé went to Fabriq for a facial with Eileen. We were loyal to Juju Spa so we were excited to learn that some of the same aestheticians stayed on at Fabriq. According to my fiancé, check-​in was a breeze and the facial itself was excellent. Eileen was calm and relaxed, and the hand and foot massages were an excellent touch! The facials were very reasonably priced as well. His skin looks great now, and I can’t wait to go for a facial at Fabriq myself!
