Fatso Foggerty’s

Gina and I stumbled into Fatso Foggerty’s on the way through South Philly during our DIY Christmas lights run. After nearly committing a faux pas by commandeering the pool table from its owner, we settled into the smoky scene. Thankfully Brian was in good spirits, and the three of us struck up a game of cut-​throat. While he referred to us as 6 – 10 and 11 – 15, he was the first out!
On the last ball, I went for the kill but made my own ball, giving Gina the win and sending us on our way back to Center City!

Yikes.
I probably have lung cancer now. The overwhelming smell of smoke hits you in the face the moment you walk in and that is because, well, you can smoke inside here. The bar is filled with plenty of chain smokers and it’s just awful.
The place is in dire need of renovation. The water in the bathroom will stay on for probably five minutes until it shuts off on its own.
There is no kitchen here which is probably better since you wouldn’t want to eat what comes out of it because the establishment is extremely dirty and so decrepit I’m surprised it’s still standing.
The beer is cheap ($ 2.75 High Life’s) but should be cheaper considering the environment and they do not accept credit cards — although they do have a broken ATM for decoration in the back.
I found the bartender to be pretty unfriendly to me although the other regulars there were nice. If I were still a smoker, this might be my haven, but I’ve given that up and this place, I think, will single-​handedly prevent me from smoking another cigarette ever again… In my life… Even drunkenly/​socially.
Never again.

Diveeeeeeeeee!!! Place hasn’t been touched up in 20 years … If ur dusty and 55– 60 good day time place for u, place never has a light on. Dungeon waiting for the dragon to Jump out at you in there !!
Sell the place let someone else take it over bring it back to life ! I remember 10 years ago this place use to have a hound hip atmosphere !!

Wondrous establishment wherein you may venture to find many magnanimous individuals. One may imbibe for little to no money or take shots that are relatively inexpensive. The drinks are fast and delicious. They have a juke box for music, and there is a pool table in the back.

Corner bar where my friends and I usually gather to just hang our or to meet up before going out. Otherwise its just people from the neighborhood.
