Five Star Parking

I was forced to park here on NYE 2015 because there was no parking in my neighborhood. I pulled up to the garage at 6:33pm on 12÷31÷15 and asked the attendant how much it would cost to park overnight. He said «$ 27»… expensive, but I had no other option. I then asked when I needed to be out by. He said, «6pm tomorrow.» Even though max up to 24 hours was $ 27. So really, I should have had until 6:33PM to get my car out. But confirmed several more times just to make sure. 6pm he kept repeating. The next day, I arrive back at the garage at 5:15pm, and a different, very unpleasant attendant tells me I owe $ 32 because I am over the 24-​hour limit. When I tell him I got to the garage at 6:33PM the night before and that the attendant told me 6pm, he shows me the ticket, which is timestamped 5:10PM for some reason. Even if they didn’t screw the ticket time up, he said I was «late» by 5 minutes and he refused to get my car for less than $ 32.
So not only was I LIED to about the time by the attendant the night before, they also put the wrong time on my ticket so that it would look like I arrived earlier than I had the night before. It’s also pretty convenient that the stub they give you to keep doesn’t have the time on it. So no matter what you do, you can’t dispute it. I will NEVER use this garage again and will tell anyone I can to not sure this garage either. I’m well aware that this is a $ 5 difference. But I’m sure that this isn’t the first time this garage has taken advantage like this. And all this extra money adds up.

I parked at this garage for 2 years as a monthly customer. I spent about $ 9000 parking here and besides the odd scratch or dent, they treated the car pretty good. Most of the guys are nice, however there are one or two that are extremely rude and unpleasant. On my last day as a monthly customer, I left on the morning of the first at like 7am and was presented with a $ 19 bill for the seven hours of parking beyond the month. While this may technically be correct (although I would argue not since I didn’t start my first month at midnight (noone does), it was an obnoxious move and a horrible way to leave a loyal customer who has been an advocate for the garage for so long. Poor move guys, nothing like ruining a good run.
