Four Seasons Childcare & Preschool

Can’t say enough good things about Four Seasons. The staff is excellent and the both of my kids have benefited immensely from going here. The curriculum is great and they are learning so much. New ownership has made so many improvements with the building. I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

We currently have a daughter in the 2 year old program and can not say enough great things about this school and their wonderful staff! From the greetings in the morning from the front desk staff to every teacher you walk by, to the fun, educational activities that the teachers always have up their sleeve this place is truly a gem! The list goes on, ballet, soccer, parades, magicians, outdoor space, the new Director and Owner, Lauren Trimber and her staff have really outdone theirselves and we will be happy to send our next daughter there as well!

Since the change of ownership in Spring 2015, Four Seasons Daycare and Preschool has changed dramatically. The physical building has been updated. It is bright, clean and updated. Many safety concerns have been addressed, including only one entrance in and out. The staff have very high standards of care, academics and cleanliness. The curriculum is well organized. There are weekly themes, special trips, visitors, and walks to explore the neighborhood. There is an active Parent Association. Children are learning, active and well cared at Four Seasons Daycare and Preschool. I highly recommend this daycare and preschool.

I have only seen pictures but I know Lauren and her family redid the entire daycare! It looks BEAUTIFUL and knowing the employees they are great with kids. I would absolutley send my children there !!!

Love it there! We may the right choice. Our daughter comes home happy and excited to go.

Four Seasons is wonderful with a great staff!!!
My daughter has been attending Four Seasons since she was 4 months old, she is now 2 ½ and I have not one complaint. She has great relationships with her present teachers, as well has her prior teachers and her development is amazing. It is a great comfort to know while I am working, she is in very good hands. Would HIGHLY recommend Four Seasons in anyone’s search for daycare in the area!

My son has been attending this school since he was 6 months old– He is now five. The staff are great, his current teacher is amazingly patient and structured, and they always keep me informed of the tiniest things. He goes on trips, reads daily, practices writing, sings, goes on the computer, and celebrates various holidays with the school.
Something to consider– this school has been around for a very long time… decades. Many of the staff are long-​term. I’ve been to other daycare centers, the more expensive, and I’ve never felt as comfortable as I do with Four Seasons. He’s moving on to K in September to Green Woods… and although I’m ecstatic he’s going to this wonderful new school, I will miss the staff and kids at Four Seasons terribly.

We made the right choice going with Four Seasons. Our son has been there for over a year now and he loves it. The staff is excellent, they have great curriculum of developmental programs. He brings home something new he did every day.

My son has been at Four Season since he was about 6 ½ months. He is now 26 months old and has transition from their infant to toddler 1 class and on the verge of moving to toddler 2.
I am a first time mom and this is my only child. Like many first time moms going back to work I was devastated after I dropped my son off at his first day at day care. I am pretty sure I cried all day at work. I think the difference between me and other moms is that I wanted this day care to work and promised myself I would relinquish control and let the day care do what I was hiring them to do. I also told myself my attitude had to be positive and flexible. I had come to terms with the fact that nobody would love or care for him better than myself but as his mom it was my job to find someone who could be a great second best care provider. I had one goal to want my child to be loved by the staff as much as I loved him because if we could accomplish a good relationship from the start they would want to make me happy and would want to make my child happy too.
I wanted my son to have a positive experience so i gave the day care the benefit that they had been caring longer for children then I had. I had an overwhelming positive experience. I felt like the staff loved my child and cared for him in that same manner. Occasionally I would be annoyed if i found another’s child’s pacifier in my infants mouth and/​or at year 1 when I said no more pacifiers and a few times after that they used one even though I specifically had a zero tolerance policy. I never made a huge deal of it because everyone has to pick their battles and giving my son a pacifier once or twice after i said no wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I did breast feed for the first year of my sons life and had no trouble with the day care. I felt like they supported my decision and never spoke negatively about my decision to do so. Today my son is still thriving at this facility.
At 18 months he was counting, knew his colors, shapes and could recite the alphabet.
At 2 years he is speaking using multiple sentences with 3 – 7 words in a sentence. He is successfully telling staff and parents when he has to potty and then actually doing it. He knows more songs and games than I can count and he is socially very interactive with his teachers and classmates. I give the day care credit for helping him be excited about learning.
The only negative is that I suspect some of the staff smoke and that bothers me. I have never mentioned that concern to the director but typing this out makes me think i should.
Hope this helps. In the end where ever you end up that makes you happy is the right choice for you and your family. I have heard of at least two moms that have felt their experience wasn’t as wonderful as mine has been at Four Seasons and their children go to Le Petit Cherub in Roxborough and Holy Child in Manayunk.

To all parents looking for daycare:
Do NOT send your infant to Four Seasons Day Care in Rox (19 128). I am a new mom with an adorable baby boy. Going back to work after having my son was stressful enough and the thought of having to leave him at daycare made it even harder. My husband and I searched the neighborhood area looking for a daycare that we both felt comfortable with. Sadly the daycare we really wanted was not going to be open in time when my maternity leave was up. We visited Four Seasons and thought we were picking the best place best on the fact that they have been established since the 70’s and that the «head» teacher in the infant room had been there for about 10 years. I didn’t have the «this is the place’ feeling in my stomach but thought because I wasn’t happy about having to go back to work, that I probaly wouldn’t have that feeling anywhere we sent him.
It was an awful experience. The first day he was there, I anxiously called just 2 hours after dropping him off to check in, and was told that he had been «crying alot” — with no other reassuring words. When I picked him up that night, all the staff who worked in the infant room were gone for the day so that staff that was left could not tell me any specifics about the rest of his day. When I got home and looked at his «report sheet» for the day I saw «My disposition today was: UNHAPPY” — with nothing else written on the sheet. I immediately started crying– I had just left my precious little one for the first time ever and to read that he was «Unhappy» was devasting! Some compassion and to be honest a litte handholding for a new mom going back to work would of been nice.
The next days to follow were not any better– anytime I would call I would be told he was crying-​again with no reassurance like «it will get better» «this is his first time at daycare ect” — rather negative comments were made to me regarding the fact that I was breastfeeding «you know breastfed babies are more fussy than formula fed babies» and «he wants to be held alot because you breastfeed” — I couldn’t believe it! The straw that broke the camel’s back was on his 7^th day there I called to check on him and was told by the DIRECTOR «he has been crying since he got here and they are trying everything but there are PULLING THEIR HAIR OUT back there” — I immediatley left work to get him (I could not believe that she said that to me– my helpless 4 month is crying and your staff who works with children are «pulling their hair out») — I was accused of not feeding him enough because I hadn’t started cereal yet and again more negative comments about breastfeeding «we never used to take breastfed babies and the owner was asking «how long does the mother intend on breastfeeding».
The head teacher in the infant with obvious frustration on her face told me that she didn’t know what else to do with him that he requires alot of attention (wanting to be held) and that he would be better with 1 on 1 care– AGAIN he was 4 months old and had only been there for 7 days!!!- It was obvious that they did not want to take care of him– and after all the negative breastfeeding comments, and the fact that the Director had the nerve to tell me her staff was «pulling their hair» out taking care of my son– I did not want him in there for one more minute.
My son is now 7 months old and has been doing great in his new daycare. The staff at his new daycare were willing to give him the TLC he needed to adjust to daycare and treated me with respect and compassion.
I am still scarred from my experience and will tell anyone my story about Four Seasons to prevent any parent from having to experience what my husband and I did.
